I've watched Kyle's video on creating a Privacy Policy and ticking the Robots boxes. My page doesn't show up as the same as Kyle's so when I check the website people can still

Yeah, those boxes will not block comments. Marking it private is not a good idea because visitors will not see the page.

You can disable comments on that page.

1. Select the Page as if you are going to edit it.

2. Scroll down below the Editor Box and find
"Discussion".

Make sure the little box is NOT ticked for comments and trackbacks. It should be empty.

See my SCREENSHOT #1

If you do not see the "Discussion" section below the Editor, then go to the top right of the page and click on the little arrow for the Screen Options box. Tick the box for "Discussion". That will make it visible underneath the page editor area.

See second SCREENSHOT #2

Post again if that doesn't help. ~Jude

Hi Judy
I'm afraid I have to disagree with you about the boxes and making it private.
I have done exactly that and it works.
I have put my privacy in my Footer with the Disclaimer if anyone wants to read it and on occasion I will put the links at the bottom of Posts/Pages, again if anyone wants to take the time to read them.
Have a great Saturday.

Hello Robert,

If you mean by ticking 'no index', Google will not index the page in search results, yes. It just means 'not indexed', though Google does not guarantee that.

When I say "marking it private", perhaps we are talking about different things.

I mean selecting the "Private" option in the WP publish section, which changes the status to Privately Published. This means public will not see that page, only the admin will see it when logged in. That's what I was referring to. I mentioned it because you posted a screenshot of that section and it has nothing to do with comments. Maybe I misunderstood.

I think Tony was only wanting to now how to stop comments on his privacy page....lol. ~Jude

No probs Judy.
We are both right in our own interpretation of Tony's questions.
Have a great Monday and be successful.

Hi Jude,
I think that I must be as thick as two planks as I just can't seem to get this sorted out.
This is what I do.
go to the Siterubix box and enter
Go to site manager page and enter
log into site manager page
Go to Pages and enter
Using the edit logo go into the privacy policy
Can't find the Editor Box you mention
Back to square one - bugger!!
I feel like Pinnochio in that I have a head made of wood.
Thanks for trying
Kind regards
Tony

Sorry for the delay in replying here.

Send me a private message Tony with a link to your website and I'll take a look at it.

Just to clarify: the issue is that people can leave comments on the privacy page and you don't want them to do that, right?

~Jude

correct

One of Marion's replies just reminded me of another way. Have you tried this:

In WP admin, go to Pages > All Pages.

From the list of pages, find the page on which you don't want comments.

Click on Quick Edit and remove the tick from the box 'Allow Comments' then click on 'Update'.

See Screenshot.

Let us know if that worked. ~Jude

Hello Tony
Its simple to do Tony (see attached Pics for mine).
Give time for your site to be crawled and then check it.
Have a great Saturday.
