Hey Tony,

If it turns out that you have mixed content error, then this tutorial may help you resolve that issue:

Thanks I read the article but like you said it could be mixed content because I am using images downloaded from google search so I am not sure on the security of the servers.

I am hoping that by downloading these pics then uploading them instead of using the original url to pull the pics may solve that problem.

Thanks for your help again

No sure if anyone know but this is why I ask. I am attempting to build a website with a domain purchased from Godaddy, I changed the DNS settings as instructed by the WA traini

Featured Comment

If you have updated your DNS, you can see if it has updated.

http://whois.domaintools.com/

If you head there and type in your domain, you will see what your DNS is. If it reads:

ns1.mywahosting.com
ns2.mywahosting.com

Then your domain is ready to go and you are going to be able to build your website using the SiteBuilder.

Do know that your site will not be recognized when the DNS has switched, rather you will just have to build your website.

Today I tried to use an embed youtube link to add a video to a wp post, It did not show up after updating it

I'm not quite sure what you're doing Tony. To embed a YouTube video on your siterubix website you'll want to follow these instructions If you're trying to link to a video on your Wealthy Affiliate blog then Loes has given you a link to a solution.

Thank you, and yes I used the embed code from youtube on my WP blog and the code was stripped.when I updated it. But thank you for your response.

Did you paste the code into the Text tab instead of the Visual tab like I show in the video?

On the blogs here you have to add a text link, you can not embed.
Here is how I do it:

Thank you Loes, it was not on the WA blog but it is good to know.

This might help:

Thank you

I ask this question because I have looked at a few sites here at members here at WA have created.

I see home pages that a stuffed with posts for a particular niche, hom

I found everyones answers very helpful also. I probably need to change my theme because i dont want my website to look like a blog roll. If anyone has any suggestions for themes that I will be selling stuff on and doing some blogging please let me know. Otherwise I will have to do some exploring. I have not ran into this being talked about in lessons yet. Right now Kyles lessons are just having us create content but not really going through how to organize the content yet. Thanks for everyones responses I was also wondering about this.

You write "visitor to our site they usually land on the index or home page," This is not necessarily so. People search using keywords and land on your posts.

Thanks for your response, The point I was making is that unless you provide a post link, you would use your index page. Even if they came in by way of a post, which is considered the bait, they will, or should, eventually end up on your home page.

I do appreciate your input to the question

Hey Tony,

Those "home pages that a stuffed with posts for a particular niche" are called blog rolls.

What is a Home Page: https://www.computerhope.com/jargon/h/homepage.htm

What is a Blog Roll: http://computer.howstuffworks.com/internet/basics/blogroll.htm

Most of my website visitors come via a Google search result where a post is shown in response to their question, and NOT just my domain.

You can also offer lead pages or squeeze pages, etc. Personally, I have set up two different types in hope of receiving visitors via a particular Google search result.

Thanks for your response, but does not the post page have the same blog rolls and is is easier to access it on the home page than the post page?

Are you taking the Certificate Courses Tony?
This is all detailed in the early lessons.

Yes I am going thru the training, and I know it was covered, as I said in my question the question came about because I am seeing people using blog rolls for the home page and I am trying to get some clarification.

Thanks for your response, and for being so helpful.

Perhaps this forum conversation will help you make your decision Tony: https://moz.com/community/q/is-it-better-to-have-a-blogroll-style-homepage-to-your-website-or-one-main-post

Thank you link,, I am not trying to decide between one or the other, just trying to understand more. Thanks again

Have a look at my site https;//perkune.com
it is easy to navigate and most people love it so maybe will give you some ideas OK

let me know by putting a comment anywhere on the site OK

Paul

Yes Paul you site is easy to navigate and does have a ton of useful info for anyone interested in getting superior quality cables. Good job with the site.

I also like your home page, but I think that the tag line you use does not adequately describe what you do. I is too general, any one can make that claim, even if their product does not compare to yours.

IMHO it would be much more effective if you articulated why the cables are the best. I like the fact that there is not much text on your home page, this page should act as a filter, where people who are not interested can bounce off and the ones who stay on stay because of the unique difference you have identified.

Honestly, if I had come to your site I would have been one of hte bouncer, I know nothing of audiophile cables. But I see from your site there are quite a few people who know about this.

Final comment, and please don't take this personal. Nobody cares about how you came to be an expert in what you do.

People only care about how what you do can help them be more, get more or save money or time.

That is the hook, immediately show me why I should listen, capture my imagination and interest, and I will follow you to hell. Well not really, but you get my drift.

Other than that, I think you are doing a great job and I sincerely hope you take this feedback in the light it was intended.

Thanks for responding to the question and sharing your site.

Hi again and thanks for your words -

Well the Expert thing was the nickname that I was called by the group of doctors and it has stuck but still do agree maybe will remove it as this was done right at the start
Now I do like what you say about the tag line and I will work on this and I thank you for your help
