YouTube Are You Utilizing this Great Source?

Last Update: June 24, 2019

I just started a YouTube page 3 weeks ago and have only uploaded 1 video that is less than 1 minute in length so far.

YouTube, also owned by Google is the #2 search engine in the world, second only to Google.

In the 3 weeks, it has been viewed about 2,100 times so I am seriously thinking about uploading and creating more content.

I also have the video posted on my website at the top of my most recent WA review article and it has been watched many times from there as well.

What is your experience with YouTube?

Before having an actual YouTube account, I normally just watched the videos and didn't subscribe. Now that has changed as I have subscribed to quite a few interesting channels.

Do you subscribe to channels or just watch the videos?

I have found that even though I have over 2,100 views that the video has only been liked a few times.

Thank you friends for haring your thoughts and experience while using YouTube.

Tony

Hi Tony!

Thanks a lot for your valuable info. I am not promoting yet on YouTube. I obviously should do so. The thing is that if you don't create a steady and high number of videos the results might be not satisfactory.

Vlogging is very important these days but it is becoming very competitive. People look a lot of videos, and many of them just "fly over the videos!"

It is like on Google, a lot of content, valuable and interesting content will make the difference. If your channels get popular you will have a chance to succeed in a big way. Unless, you have a "runner" and suddenly your video is watched by a huge amount of people, like a popular song for example!

Best regards,
Igor

Greetings Tony!

Great Report, and Question! I use YouTube often as a Resource for Information, or to Study, or indeed for quality Music!

I have not until this Post considered putting up a YouTube Video of my own to companion my message and Sites!
Considering now, I am sure, I don't want to be Onscreen as it goes against everything in my nature!

I would have to either find a Volunteer, Hire Someone, or have a Personless video!

How do I make a Personless Video?

God Bless and Good Luck!

Hi Janice, You can use Screencastomatic and record your screen with whatever powerpoint slides or images you want to use. You can just speak the dialogues and display the screen, not yourself, Alan

Why have I not seen you on there before. Lol. It is the biggest converter and of course Google love YouTube they own it lol. I always thought you would tap into that one quick.

I really need to get my head round it though and start vlogging.

I do subscribe to certain people. However I do notice the lots of views on most channels but most don't seem to do a like. I think people forget to do a quick thumbs up.

I do spend a lot of time on YouTube as I refuse to watch TV so I see what people have to say also on their views on whats happening in My country.

I do if I see a fellow member vlogging here. I do a subscribe and a like and let them know that way they can keep a head on what traffic they have coming in and whether it is organic or not.

Normally I have to be honest not vloggers here but if I watch a vid I do forget to do the thumbs up. I see that often on many varied channels.

The views and the subscribers are more important for sure. Looking forward to catching up with you on YouTube Tony :)

Wow! That's an incredible number of views. Way to go! Congrats!

I started a Youtube Channel last year in Oct-Nov but I didn't really start producing reviews until about a month ago. I've gotten 16 subscribers, A LOT of views, a lot of traffic that comes in to my website through my videos and even gotten a few signs up to my email list from there.

Since my experience has been nothing but POSITIVE, i would say GO FOR IT! Especially since you're having this amount of success already.

And yes, not a lot of people will leave comments and like your video, which is the case with me too. But I wouldn't be worried about that. The most important thing is that you are getting content across to others looking for the info you're giving, you're getting traffic to your site, more eyeballs and more buyers!

That's what Youtube will do!

You tube is an amazing site and can get you loads of traffic and affiliate sales. I have been using YT for a few years but not as regularly as I should. I have tried to shoot a video each week, my views vary I have a few videos that are getting viewed daily but others not really any views at all. I think if you treat YT as a similar platform to the search engines and look at long tail keywords then you will get views for sure.

Well done for getting your first video done :)

Congratulations Tony!

Just did our first 2 YouTube trial videos over the last 2 weeks. They were short, 1 of 3 minutes and the other just under 6 minutes. We learned a lot!. Our views are not as high as yours and we did get Subscribers. As of today our Subscriber Count is 31, which we are excited about.

Just used iPhone 8 Plus (the image stabalization makes a real difference) and edited using iMovie on Apple Mac.

Today I have done a test video with a green background (as luck would have it our curtains are green) so I can make a video using an overlay. All too easy on iMovie.

Lots more YouTube videos to come!

Cheers, William.

I am getting ready to start a YouTube channel as well. Did you know you could monetize your videos with google ads? I know people making thousands a month just on YouTube.

Personally, I subscribe to channels I like. Many times the person in the video will ask you to like or subscribe and that helps them get more subscribers. The more views you have the higher chance of making money off the ads.

I realise this is an area I must move into. But two issues worry me.. I’m not great at being seen, I worry people will judge me and the whole technical process of making the videos. I understand they’re probably one of the biggest marketing tools out there.. do you think I can get away with not being seen, just talking and using my screen to illustrate .. a bit like Kyle does with training here?

YES, you can use Powtoon to make animation or other softwares to make videos. There are some famous channels which the authors only used screen to illustrate.
it all depends on your content.

I love Youtube Tony, I have found a few golden nuggets on there, including the best sermons ever to touch my ears and enter my heart... I has also been a great tool for SEO.
Once you get past your fist 100 subs and are able to add cards with a website link you have a nice friendly link:).
Also Youtube vids get some priority listings in google, and some low comp keywords can potentially shoot to the front page:)

Cool pyjamasTony:)
Whats you channel handle?

I also love YouTube Rob, thank you my friend.

As far as I know, we aren't allowed to share our websites, social media pages etc... anywhere except on our WA profile page on the right bottom side.

Has that changed Rob?

I love youtube, I subscribe to a few channels, one posts weekly, one posts every 3 days and few others are random posting. I personally prefer youtube than blogs (should I have said that out loud lol)

If it works and you are getting those kind of views go for it! It is all just connecting to people, so if youtube does that brilliant!

Wonderful Sara,

thank you for sharing my friend!

Many are more visual and love YouTube more than reading a blog, that is what I am finding as well.

and also it pays to invest some money with Youtube,
as it will escalate the traffic for you,
(even for the first 10 days of your new video)
have a look into that, it's a good kick start!

Seems Instagram and YouTube are the social media outlets to be to promote the business. I have been watching several of our fellow members and subscribed. Good stuff. for a small video to get 2,00 views is a great start.

I started my channel a few months ago. It's slowly getting more and more views and I had a few referrals from there.

It's fab and since you have quite a following on Instagram, it should be easy to get views from there as well.

Also, I read somewhere that YT is getting rid of likes so that part shouldn't worry you.

It's the watch time and subs that count.
Getting over 2000 for one short video is a strong indication that you are doing something right and should do more of.
Best,
Alenka :)

This is great Tony, I am seriously thinking about making YT videos. I have a channel but just like you said, I only watch videos without liking or subscribing.

2,100 views is not a small number at all. Congratz!

Tony,

Thanks for the great reminder, I do have a few videos on mines, it was taken offline a few times by YouTube and then restored when I have appealed because I didn't violate any rules.

God bless you and yours always!
