The full story about my image!
Many Friends here at WA have asked me the story behind my profile image.
Last Thursday was the 1st game for the Goodrich Martians High School Football team, my son doesn't play football but does play the Snare Drum with the Marching Band Drumline.
Right before halftime I decided that I wanted to get a picture with the Martian and the fans so I walked over to where the Cheerleaders and the Martian were and told the Martian my intentions.
He handed my cell phone to the Cheerleaders Coach, I then hoisted him up from the field and onto my shoulder. I hadn't told the fans of my intentions but you can see their reactions for yourself in the image above. (It sits about 5 feet below the stands but the Martian is small so not too hard to accomplish)
My favorite part was when my 16 year old Vance and I were coming back home, Vance told me that when I did what I did that one of his best Friends in the Drumline turned to him and in a very straight face said "Your Dad is a BadAss!" I know that it sounds silly but my son is my world and I love when I'm able to give him some joy in his life.
Most likely you've already read my profile page here at WA and know that his Mom and I adopted him at his birth and that she went to Heaven in 2013 because of breast cancer so I won't tell the whole story again here.
Thank you Friends for viewing and commenting,
Tony (Vance's Dad)

Being original is what it is all about!
Congratulations on seizing the opportunity!

I am surprised to see your posts after the question you wrote earlier complaining about others, if their posts are gaming the system then yours are the same.
I had wondered about your pic, but like you said, it could have gone on your profile and we'd have seen it there.
I'd have said nothing about this post here or the other two or three you wrote today but if you come on so strong telling others they are wrongly posting then this is the pot calling the kettle black
Actually Kyle and Carson have both said social blogging and questions are welcome, but I'm calling out that mega question you wrote earlier on accusing everyone else when you play like this yourself
Yes, it's a great photo. The crowd in green shirts and the hand stick thingies really highlights you and Marvin the Martian. Well, that's what Bugs Bunny used to call him!
I can see why Vance is so proud of you. I can see why you love your son so much. It's your love for each other that makes you so strong and so shining of a special light :)

Way to support your son and encourage his friends. Being a great Dad is the best legacy you can leave.
Tony, I didn't say that just like that! I'm following your story and I really meant it!
All the best and if I may say, I hope that someday, I will love the first day of the month like you do!
I still have too much to learn!
