Don't share WA with Friends & Family?

I'm not going to share WA with Friends & Family until I'm successful because until then they may think that it's a Pyramid Scheme or Scam!

The above statement is not from me, It is something that I've heard many times in my 15 months as of today at WA!

I believe that to base the possibility of your Friends and/or Family being able to be successful on your ability is very narrow sighted.

I myself know that I have many Friends and Family who are far more talented and qualified than I to write and share blogs on the internet so I share with all Family and Friends and don't prejudge them based upon my abilities and/or inabilities.

I feel that my Friends and Family are more than qualified to make their own decisions and if I share with them and they do see a way to earn an income online then that's wonderful and if they don't then that's wonderful as well.

WA is absolutely not a Pyramid Scheme because there is no pyramid. When someone we refer joins WA the only people who get paid are us and WA. No levels = no pyramid.

I'm not saying that MLM's are bad, Just that WA isn't one of them. Many Network Marketing and Multi-Level Marketing companies are legit.

It is the Pyramid Schemes, Scams and not legit one's that give them all a bad name. Stereotypes are born in this way all of the time and not just in business but in life!

Thank you Friends for sharing & caring,

Tony

Hmmm... I'm on the fence with this one. On the one hand, if I do broadcast it to friends and family then I would feel somewhat responsible for their successes or failures. On the other hand, they are all perfectly capable of making their own choices and therefore mapping out their own destinies.

I have not shared with family and friends other than to show my site to my husband and kids and my mother-in-law. I do not feel I am anywhere near to where I could show them this and show them they can be successful with it and make an income! I am not to that point yet!

Based on my own experience, I have come to the same conclusion Tony. Some of my friends and family members did joined on my encouragement, but none has been so enthusaitic to be actively aquiring knowledge avaialble here on WA so far as much as I do. So I decided to stop promoting to them until I am ready to show my tangible success.
Cheers,
Kipps

I have been involved in a couple of MLM ventures in the past and of course got some of my friends and family involved and completely agree with you Tony! I know a number of family members that would be awesome at WA but am going to wait until I have success.

Tony

I have shared this opportunity with my family but when it comes to my extend family I have not and probably won't share it.

You see, when it comes to my parents and brother family, they haven't a technical cell in their body and I'm not looking for a second job because I would have to do all the work.

Thank you Tony! I now realize that it is my own mindset that set me back when it came to sharing what I do. I never talk about anything, when I should be sharing all the positves! The only negative thing one may see is the work it takes, but that to me is a positve!

By mentioning it, getting a negative response, then never mentioning it again, what kind of message does that send?

I am proud to be a member of WA. I am proud of what I do, I am proud of my accomplihments.

Wealthy Affiliate has been life changing for me in many ways, why should I keep that to myself?

I think you are interpreting this comment in another way than originally intended. I have seen many people express the "negativity" of their family members and their constant negative remarks and pressure to "get a real job." Many people are quick to judge, quick to call all online efforts a scam, an "mlm," or something that "just won't work." It is for these reasons that many people have come to the obvious conclusion - just don't tell them or talk about it until you are successful. This decision relieves some of the pressure, it keeps the negative people in their negative corner, and they don't have to be constantly on the defensive or distracted when trying to make it online.

This is not just for online activities, by the way. I have heard this in the real estate industry as well.... when people were learning how to flip houses or those who have become Amazon sellers. . "Just don't tell them," became the way to deal with the nervous and negative Nellies and Debbie downers. "wah-waaaah..."

In short - Not everyone is as positive as you or has family members as positive and supportive as they should be!

Cheers!

Thanks, Tony. I continue to be impressed by the professionalism of WA and its members. I think it is because the WA leadership is sincere in their efforts to help others. Yes, probably they are making a lot of money, but for sure they are giving it back to the WA community. Thanks for reminding us. Regards, Fred

I am with you on this topic Tony.

I am in the process of separating my personal and business social media accounts so that family and friends don't feel pressured into believing what I do about WA. I have heard the "Pyramid Scheme" reference lately and just ignore them.

If someone asks I am more than happy (and excited) to share what I have found here at WA.

I am a stronger believer in "talking the talk and walking the walk". Once family and friends see my success they will understand why I have spent so much time and effort doing what I am doing.

Keep up the great work Tony! You inspire me to work harder!!

I don't think I would call it 'basing my family's success on my own'. After being in businesses for over forty years, I have learned and heard it quoted many times; "In business, your family and closest friends are your worst enemies". This is because they always think of you as they remember growing up. They don't recognize your growth and maturity as a business person. Just think about it.

I totally agree with you on this one Barry. I have also experienced it first hand, no matter what you achieve it wont change how they see you That's why I like WA so much, because we have a wonderful place here to share and contribute to success :)
