This is the only list you want to make in 2019
Instead of a list of 'good intentions' (which you can secretly copy exactly from the previous year) you can also approach it differently in 2019.
On how many kitchen tables will there be currently notebooks with a hopeful scrawled list of good intentions? Probably a whole lot. Because there is just something with that start of a new year. A fresh sense to tackle things that we have been running for too long. And so we are motivated to write. But then February comes, then March and by the time April starts, we have forgotten that well-meant list for a long time. Until it is again December 31 and we are at the same kitchen table again, disappointed.
About 'good intentions'
Often the good intentions perish on the cliffs of daily life. These intentions are fun, but there are also simple messages to be made. There are children who need to take swimming lessons and deadlines that have to be met. Some intentions fail because they are not linked to a particular goal, or to such a ridiculously high goal that the plan has already failed before the year has even started. Often our resolutions are a symptom of deeper issues that are not resolved 1,2,3, and therefore doomed to fail.
Living from intention
So let us not make a list of good intentions this year, knowing that we can take over that list almost exactly next year. No, decide to tackle it differently in 2019. This year you will live from sincerity, love and intentions. Return to the basics and ask yourself which things you find most important in life. What has value for you? Perhaps it is compassion, self-love, authenticity, kindness, strength or trust?
The list of intentions
Write down these values and then translate them into an intention for the coming year. Is 'authenticity' important to you? Then perhaps that means you want to live from honesty. Honesty to yourself and to others. Living from intention is not necessarily easy. Real authentic life also means that you will have to be open about your deepest desires, needs and feelings. But in the end, that intention will give you a good feeling about yourself, even if it sometimes takes effort and does not quite succeed at times. Because whatever your values and the resulting intentions are - these are things that feed your soul.

Tried and True
Elaine
Hi Elaine,
My dad always said to me, do it now not later, because tomorrow never come.
So by that I developed a habit of doing things right away and don't postpone.
Have a great day
Tommy
Great post, Tommy, thanks you.
I can't copy last year's list because I didn't have one! :-)
But I will carefully consider my goals for this year.
Ian
Great advice!
The new resolutions are often full
of actions that we are not used to doing.
It's true sometimes this are goals a little
too far of what we are to be able to get there without
difficulties.
You are right, we have to do a little work on
ourself and find what we really need, so
we will have fun doing it.
Thanks fo your post!
Ingrid
Yes, Ingrid I also had on my website a blog about it.
Little Habits change little things each time so the becomes your new habit. it takes about 21 days to form a new habit.
