Hi Guys been using EazyAzon for a while now and its been working fine until today I noticed that no images or links are being shown on my website. I started looking into it and

Hey Mark,

Google searching "EasyAzon asking for cerdentials" (without the quotation marks, of course), the second post offered in search results was their support forum... https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/easyazon/

Check out the discussion in the cry for help logged by Raj and you may find your fix. Might it be that you need an Amazon API key... maybe?

Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the link will keep an eye but its 14 hours and still no response to his question. I have updated the API already as stated in the question paragraph 2 thanks anyway.

You could also put in under that person's cry for help... that you are suffering the same outage. That MIGHT make the developer sit up and take action sooner... maybe.

Have done that now, thanks for the prompt.

Also put a ticket on the plugin support and someone came back tried what they said but still no joy. Waiting on reply back but at least I have made a connection now.

watching responses here to gain more knowledge about this. thanks

I don't have the answer - but is Eazyazon good apart from this issue? I hadn't heard of this before but it seems to answer all the issues I have been thinking of regarding amazon affiliate especially the issue of having to register with different country programmes. Would you recommend it ?

It was great to a point. Adding images was temperamental it would download images from Amazon onto my website (against the T&C's) until I noticed and changed the links to amend it.

I have been looking for a replacement as the plugin doesn't seem to be well supported anymore so I would say stay clear for now.

This latest problem has convinced me to build links manually then I know they will work.

thanks for the reply. i'm still building my site but was curious for when the time comes

This plugin works with Amazon as well as Adsense

Thanks for the tip but I'm still stuck with hundreds of links not working.

Email Marketing

Hi Guys looking for anyone with experience collecting emails from customers using the paypal payment process.

Have found out that both Aweber and Mailchip have a tool to

When you use Paypal you cannot use the email information collected to contact people for marketing, that is spamming plus you would probably have your paypal account suspended. These are not your email addresses to use.

If you want to build a mailing list you have to use and autoresponder, such as Aweber or Getresponse for example.

People will voluntarily opt into your mailing list, usually through an ethical brib, meaning you give something of value away to get people's contact information.

Now that they are on your mailing list it's time to build that relationship, once people know, like and trust you they will buy from you.

Thanks for the comment Leo but you can actually do it.

As you can see it doesn't seem to be a problem. You will need to ask those emailees to subscribe to make it al above board however.

The way I intend to do it is send a reply to the customer as soon as they buy an item from me. Something like this....

Hey customer thanks you so much for your purchase, we will try our best to ensure you receive your item as requested in good time. Once received, if happy please leave us positive feedback as we have already sent you positive feedback for the purchase.

If however you are not completely happy then contact us here with the problem and we will do our best to resolve the issue for you. Please do this rather than give negative feedback.

This email has been sent automatically from our emailing system. If you would like to sign up to our shop newsletter where we will send you promotional updates along with product reviews and hints and tips.

Just hit the link below and as a bonus for joining us we will send you a promotional voucher for an extra 15% OFF your next purchase.

Thanks again for your purchase hopefully we will see you back again soon.

Tight Lines Mark

Ok, you're doing it after the purchase - like Paypal states you have to ask them to join your email list, I thought you were just taking the email addresses and adding them to your list without their permission, my bad for mis-understanding

I dig the app that's available through Aweber. Have never used it or needed it,

I do use paypal as my payment processor, but my customers are already in my sales funnel through my squeeze pages.

Once they purchase they then are sent to my thank you page, which has the appropriate upsell on that page.

If they don't purchase they get sent to a downsell depending on the squeeze page they landed on.

No problem just wanted to clear it up for other folks. You are right to be wary, spamming individuals can get you spanked BIG TIME!

I have used MailChimp, AWeber and GetResponse. I finally decided on GetResponse. I like the interface and their affiliate program. (I am making money there!!)

I like the blue one better.

Blue one... looks like water :)

Both look great I do prefer the blue one, just because its the colour of water and that goes with fishing

I think they both look great Mark. I prefer the top set personally as I feel there is more 'motion/movement' with it, regarding the line and the fish being outside of the circle. On the circular logo I would consider filling in the negative space between the body and tail to fill in the rest of the circle? Both excellent though, hard to choose.
Cheers
Darwyn

Tip on filling in the circle has been noted. Thanks

I like green, but not sure why.

Yea me too!

Hi Tom, I like the second one, blue reminds me of water and therefore compliments the fishing images. I hope I was helpful. Keep Smiling, Sharon:)

You are welcome

Have been doing a bit of research in this and found Bookly. Anyone using it or can offer a better option? Any advice appreciated.

The best one I found was BirchPress Scheduler

Have a look at woothemes, they have appointment options. Not that I've used them yet, but I'm working on a shopping cart theme by the same guys and it's very well polished.

Anybody know of a decent appointment booking plugin?

Noticed today that my backups have not been working on both of my website hosted at WA for a while, tried to run one manually and found the error cannot "create the folder" trie

Been there Tom. So sorry. Deactivate the plugin and check with support. WPBackUp conflicted with my theme. They should have a backup for your site, hopefully in case your manual backup continues not to work. I use UpDraftPlus now and Dropbox to Google Drive. ^_~

Yup, been there, done that.... Ditto what Linda says. My first problem was over a year ago... seems like it was originally a problem with Go Daddy servers but never got better when I switched.

I've just started using WP-DB-Backup plugin. You can do manual backups or set it to automatically backup your website. I just posted a blog about it: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/mblack/blog/backup-your-database-before-upgrading-wordpress ~Marion

glad to here your problem was resolved all the best

I use UpdraftPlus. Much better.

Thanks for the updates guys but I have it sorted. Seems there was a folder issue with my hosting here at WA, they have corrected it and things are working again. I will have to be more vigilant going forward I advise you all to do the same.

I just discovered mine apparently hasn't been working right for awhile either. It's happened once or twice before, but started working again for a few months or so.

I don't know if I like this plugin too much anymore, I had been thinking it's backing up my site and it hasn't for a long time. So, I tried the manual backup which didn't work either, and had to backup with XML instead.

It's too bad we can't trust this plugin to actually back our sites up automatically, but it was nice while it lasted. I'm definitely switching to something else. Possibly WP Clone, which I've used on another site, but I don't think that one can be set up to automatically backup if I remember correctly.

I have developed a strong dislike for this plugin as it stopped working for me on many of my sites. I think it has to do with site size, but not sure.

Now sometimes I use WP Clone, and sometimes I just have to manually back up via XML!

That being said, you might just need to mess around with creating folders for it to back up to. Sometimes the / makes a difference.

Hey Nathaniell your up late, I think hitting the manual download within the plugin is the safest option set up a reminder in calendar and do it daily/weekly whatever suits. At least then you will know a) if has worked b) stored your latest backups safely. Scheduling and relying on it all to work it too haphazard.

Are you backing it up to Dropbox. If you are you have to go yo the last tab on the wpback up plugin settings and get it authenticated. If you have not done that yet or to which ever one you are backing up to. Good luck. I think it is the last tab on the plugin. I am on my iphone at work right now so I cannot get on my site tight now to check for you.

Had dropbox working a while back then changed to backup to a folder that was working for several months then it all stopped again.

if i was you i would go back to dropbox cause i have never had trouble with it. Good Luck
