Hi there, My name is Tom,

I'm a retired full time working Australian.

Australians are affectionately known throughout the world as "Skips", however, I please ask not to hold that against me.

I joined Wealthy Affiliate because of the opportunity offered in improving my standard of living. But, above all else, the chance to communicate with people likeminded.

With the gap widening within the standard of living I seized upon the chance to earn a few extra pennies and close off that awful opening.

I may even have a few pence left over for some other enjoyments in life. Life is not easy these days, balancing the budget on a fixed retirement fund is far from the ideal lifestyle.

Challenges that lay ahead will be difficult, and that I understand. Nonetheless, as my journey begins and I commence the walk through the tunnel, I will without doubt experience a number of very dark areas that will be the most daunting.

This will all take time and patience. However, being part of such a wonderful and helpful Wealthy Affiliate community family help will be just around the corner.
They will be the ones who will take me by the hand and ensure I reach my destination with as little scratches and bruises possible.

Thanks to each and every one who has taken the time out to read my profile.

"Thank You"

Tom

Superb goals Tom! You have a large network and community here at WA that you can leverage for help and support along the way, myself included.

It all starts with a goal...then is followed by action...then is followed by results. This is going to be how it pans out for you and I can't wait to hear about all of your successes in the days, weeks, and months ahead! :)

Hi Tom and welcome to another Aussie! I am a Kiwi originally (well, still am at heart) but live in the UK now. if I could give you any advice, it is don't worry about comparing yourself to others, just go at your own pace and work through the courses. We all have different skills, knowledge & experience - some parts will feel easier and faster, others harder and slow. We have all been there! I wish you all the best, and don't hesitate to get in touch if you think I can help with anything. Best regards to a fellow antipodean, Mara.

Hi there Mara,
Thank you for the confirmation, much appreciated.

I also expect that you will enjoy the ride, even though there are speed humps along the way. it's just a matter of trying to find a way over rather than going around.
All the best.

Tom

PS there is just one more thing, can you please drop by my website and take a look. And while you are there maybe you will leave a comment on my site, as that would be fantastic.

Hey Tom,

Loved reading your profile.

I love a good metaphor and your tunnel expressed the possible journey ahead so well. I have faith that your tunnel will turn out a lot shorter than you currently believe, especially if you prepare to traverse it daily.

Here's to new companionship along the way.

Sure thing. I'll pop back in a little while, after I've sorted breakfast for the screaming hordes.

Lazy Sunday morning is just beginning here. ;)

Hi Tom, thanks for the follow and we will follow each other all the way to our success as I'm adding you to my network, too! Nice websites - you have 2 while I'm still trying to figure out my 1 site. We both joined WA almost at the same time. Who can say 72 y/o is a bit slower:) Anyway, All the best to us both! / Aby

G'Day Tom,
Thank you for the follow. Yes no matter where in the world we are it seems like the gaps of living continues to widen and we all have to struggle to keep that from getting even wider. I sincerely wish you the best of success out here and enjoy your time in doing so.
Regards,
Mike

Tom, I see you are making some good progress through the Affiliate Bootcamp. Just wanted to pop by and see if you need a hand with anything?

I also wanted to mention the success rates of Bootcamp. Absolutely everyone that has taken action on all of the phases of Bootcamp has a business that is generating consistent income online. MANY of these folks are going to be at our super affiliate conference next year.

I want this to be you and I want you to succeed with your promotions. So, please promise me that if you ever need a hand or feel stuck as you move forward, that you will get in touch with me!

Trust me, I know things can be a little overwhelming sometimes and I don't want you feeling like that.

Anyways, just checking in. Get back at me if you need anything Tom.

Thanks, Kyle, I will take up that offer when required. At the moment I feel that I am doing OK.

However, that could change at the blink of an eye. As you would know, I have been a member for five months with a couple of websites already launched.

My first website attempt hasn't turned out to be a success, but I am treating that one as the learning website.

Finally, would be delighted should I make the conference, although I am not treating that as I priority at the moment.

There are just so much to learn and that is where my energies are being focused.

thanks again for the follow-up as we all need a prod every now and again.
Regards
Tom

Yeah, often times the first website is the learning experience site. I think as you build out an website moving forward, you will find that your efficiency only increases drastically.

It would be awesome if you made the conference next year and I am here to help you every step of the way to achieve this goal!

Thanks again Kyle, I don't know what to say, as I am humbled completely, by your sincerity and generosity.

Making the 300, cut off is a mammoth task, considering there is now only five months left in the calendar year. And, I'm currently sitting on ZERO, with a long way to go in completing the Bootcamp training.

Look, there is one little thing that holds be back, well not really holds me back, but stymies my moving forward. That being, writing content that inspires the reader while at the same time being conversational.

I do eventually get there, but it takes an enormous block of time to complete. As a consequence, moving forward in the training gets held back, purely, because I will not move into the next phase of training until I have completed what is in front of me.

Hence the reason my progress in the past few months has been slow. However, please don't get, me wrong as I love what I'm doing, but, unfortunately, moving forward at much faster rate is my Achilles heal.

I wasn't going to mention this, but, what the heck. I think it was around, 2007, through to 2009, I was a masterclass student of John Thornhill's and learning then was damn difficult, you either kept up or fell behind.

"YES," you guessed it correctly. I was one of the students; left behind, and as a result, I stopped the classes. But, that's not all, the training ran for six months, with no refund or part repayment of investment if you dropped off.

Now, here is the punch line, the training cost me, well let me put it this way, for the same charge, back then, would have paid for three years plus in WA, with the training about 25% of what is available here at WA.

Had his training been set up on a similar platform to WA, then there would have been a reasonable chance I would still be there. Sorry for such a long-winded response, but I thought you might find it interesting.

One final question. Is Carson's surname Clarke. Because when I was a member on Ebay, I had a mentor by the name of, Carson Clarke. He also Lived in Canada, might be just a coincidence.

Thanks for taking the time out to read this marathon response.

Kind regards
Tom

Tom, that is the reality of the Internet these days. Programs out there, simple programs, are $1,000+ and go way up into the $10,000's. These programs offer 1/100th of what we offer here at WA for $359 per year and this is what happens when you base your business on "big high ticket sales, low value" versus building an incremental and highly valuable business over time.

Back in 2005 when we started out as a "keyword list" site, our price was $359.88 for a yearly membership. Our price now is $359, so $0.88 cheaper though we invest millions annually into our platform here and we now offer services that are unparalleled across multiple industries (hosting, websites, tools, support, training, etc). That is how we behave in business, we care about people and we want to help people...that is our focus, not money.

In respect to starting at ZERO, we all started at ZERO with everything we started. It is the ONLY starting point. There is no other such starting point, but you have everything you need here at WA to create, grow and manage your online business.

I look forward to working with you moving forward.

PS. Carson's surname is not Clarke, just a coincidence. :)
