I have cancelled my WA premium membership (I may come back later). Can I continue using WA as my website host?

Thanks

HI, as the others have said. no.

Once account expires you'd be locked out of the system. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you arrange alternative hosting for your sites before your account ceases.

Back up only are available for 60 days.

You can never revert back to free starter.

Yes, as long as you can keep paying your hosting fees (the WA Premium membership) lol. When you stop paying hosting fees at any host, your service gets cut. It just so happens here that the fees provide you with a ton of training & support, too.

Hi - no, once the latest period you have paid for expires, you will be locked out of the platform and your website will be deleted after 60 days. You need to move your website to another hosting provider before your access expires. No hosting provider will host your site for free, so you can't reasonably expect WA to do so.

You will need to do some research as to which hosting provider will be the most suitable. Some of them will charge extra for Site Security, 24/7 support, daily back-ups, email addresses etc, whereas WA includes this in the membership.

Good to know.

Simple answer is no you can't. I think you have something like 60 days (I'm probably wrong) to move your site to a new host if you want to keep it.

Hey Tom,

Perhaps your settings need to be looked at. Here's a tutorial to help you with the sitemaps plugin that Kyle's lessons teach us to use: It you are using a different plugin to create your sitemaps OR if the settings do not resolve your issue, try Googling search something like "why is sitemap not listing all of my content" (without to quotation marks, of course) and your search results may provide you with helpful information offered.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

Hey Tom,

You can alter anything in your post including the title, BUT, NOT the URL.

The title is where you will get the biggest bang for your buck as it holds a lot of weigh in terms of ranking.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

Thanks for that, I'll stop doing that then.

No problem man.

yes that's a good you've decided to update your keywords in your old content. You have done the right thing and just in case you want to read something else about it, I am including the link to Nathaniel's post about it.

Thanks,

I will give that a read.

Hi everyone!

I'm sure there are a few people that have got to a point when they are asking themselves this qustion.

My first website is about a year old.

Me I am the ambitious type and want a challenge so I would keep plugging away. Sometimes taking a step back work on your other site or sites then come back to the second one and you might just have new ideas you know?

I did notice you mentioned you needed some feedback on your site. You probably know this already but there is a sitefeedback option. You could use this option to get some feedback on your website also.

We are all on different paths in life some may get to their goals or success faster then others. Always stay positive and keep your head up. The work that you put in today may just be what breaks the ice and you have a snowball effect of good things your way.

I hope the best for you and always do your best to keep working towards your goals and dreams.

Matt

Hi thanks for answering. I am not going to give up totally. I was wondering if I should spend my time on the other two sites or go for something new and super focussed.

Hi Tom

I would keep going with it because you will never how it will work out if you don't.

You could take a step back and work on your other websites for a while and then look at it will new eyes.

It is too soon to say either way how fruitful it will be.

Hope this helps

Have a great week

Jennifer

Thanks Jennifer

You are most welcome Tom

Have a great day

Jennifer

I just read a post by a member the other day who made all of $20 a month for the first 18 months and then made over 100K in the 18 months that followed. Keep working you could be inches from success.

I saw that too. I really want this!

I have mainly focused on my first niche site until it is doing well. It is starting to do well, so I started my MMO site to promote WA and other good online money making opportunities.

And, Don't Give Up, Don't ever Give up! The only way you lose here at WA in the long run, is if you quit. If I can do this, so can you. If I can help you in any way, PM me.

Thanks, would you mind having a quick look at the site. I understand if you don't. But, the feed back I get is all good. I need need someone to rip it apart in a brutal way.

Done.

Hi, Tom
I'm not sure I can answer your question, but as a reader too many links can drive me crazy. I look at my content from both sides, the writer's and the reader's.
I can only give you an example: I was asked for a comment a couple of weeks ago on a post. I read it and gave a comment on the content, which was quite good, but I longed to tell the writer that the pages were so cluttered with links and promotion that it took away from the content.
Re-doing old posts maybe a good idea.

You're on the right track.

Ok, thanks for your replies.

With this particular site, I am aiming to get traffic in three ways.

1. The home page has lots of products with affiliate links on it (so many, that you should never really get to the Botton, Instagram style). The idea is that they are funny, quirky and useful to keep people scrolling and then click on them to see if they are actually real, which takes them to Amazon. If they buy, great, if not I get the cookies for 24 hours.

Could this be damaging my rankings? I have seen very successful websites using a similar strategy.

2. SEO with reviews etc.... you know the score with this one.

3. Create a mailing list.

If I changed my strategy by removing the affiliate links from the homepage, would this be beneficial?

I'm not sure that you need to start re-inventing the wheel at this point, though it's a little difficult to say without actually seeing the website in question. Are your SEO categories super-targeted? Are you keeping your keywords really focused? It might be better to add to the home page to contextualize the links a little more - just because other sites are successful with that strategy doesn't mean it'll work with every niche. I'm just spitballing here, but hopefully that helps kickstart your thinking :)

Thanks,

I am trying out the WA way, but with an extra approach. I think I am going to re-do my theme and make a more traditional affiliate site. Not sure if I can do this, but here is my site as it is.

https://clubnomnomnom.com

I don't think changing the affiliate links unless they are raw of course would make much difference

Hi - it's not a question of how many overall, but how many within each post/review. It is suggested only one link for every 500 written words. So, for example, say you are doing a best of, comparison type review of 1500 words, then you could have 3 links within it.

Google itself says they do not as such punish the use of affiliate links. The punish low quality so if your site is still focused on quality that is what matters.

That, of course, includes not coming across spammy with affiliate links everywhere. But difficult to say more without knowing how many posts, what types if posts, how many links, etc. you have

I would re-do old posts. Your affiliate links are better on your review posts. Then all your other content should then internally link to your relevant review post.
