Creating My Own Product

These last few months have been an epic journey and things just keep getting better. So much so I have finally realised that to make a proper life changing and income changing move would be to create my own product.

So thats exactly what I am going to do. Now I have previously considered this but always chosen not to thinking that the amount of time and effort would be huge! But that's me being lazy! If thats how I'm going to think and act then I might as well quit!

This is where my previous blog post "Thinking inside the box" comes in to play. I plan out what I need to do.

  • Choose a niche
  • Research the niche & market place
  • Find problems the marketplace want solving
  • Create the product (Focusing and targeting a solution to that problem)

Here is an example, say I went for the golf niche, instead of me creating a product of a broad range of everything to do with golf. I target a problem, "How to NOT slice the ball", "Reduce handicap by 7" etc etc. Then base the product to provide a solution to solve the problem.

The creating the product is really not as hard as it sounds. I'm not an expert in the niche I have chosen but I know a couple of professional people who are who I could work alongside as a JV (Joint Venture).

Then with the product created and packaged ie. Sales funnel set up and all pages in place with graphics and sales copy it would be time to release.

I will be connecting with people in my niche who I know have email lists and would be interested in promoting my product to their lists as an affiliate.

The main income would not come from the initial sales made to people buying the product, the main source of income and value would be them opting in to my list after purchasing the product.

  1. They are targeted as they are buying my product in that niche
  2. They are buyers!

This is where people go wrong, some people have huge lists of 50,000+ but if they are all acquired from giving away free products/ebooks etc then they are more than likely freebie seekers, of course some would be buyers and a great income could definitely be made.

BUT if you were to do what I plan, and the only people on your list are people you know are willing to spend money and buy in that niche which would you rather?

A list of 50,000 freebie seekers or 5,000 buyers?

I know which one I would want!

I'm not convinced about the email lists analogy. It is my understanding that when you create an email list you need to offer something of value to get them interested enough to join that list, such as a free ebook.

The whole point of those lists is to attract people who may become buyers, so the free ebook would be something related to what you want to sell them. For example if you are targeting people who want to lose weight then it makes sense to offer them a free ebook which may give them the first steps of a weight loss course, therefore enticing them to buy the full course.

Let me know how it all turns out!

Good spirit.
And what is the product?

Good plan. I like it.

you sound like a well groomed egineer
