We can indeed like our own posts and tutorials, but not our own comments on other people's content. Bit strange. I would actually call it a slip-up of the coding team. Should have removed the option to click on the button for the poster itself.

You see it to Steven, the question of the questions, probably only Kyle and Carson can tell?

The Joker ツ

must be. But will they see enough of this to actually comment ;) usually when a post is gaining a lot of attraction, it starts to glow red and it might actually get a Kyle or Carson reply ;)

Depends on he Post Steve. btw you missed the puzzle contest. I made a nice rememberings photo for WA. The Joker ツ

The very first thing I do after hitting publish, my like button is next.

Like that!

Try that!

The Joker ツ

Hi Bishop, I always do the same :)

Now go for that new blog Patsy and if you like to know what to do next follow up to John's lead and all will be fine.

The Joker ツ

Who is John? :p

Johny English! :P

The Joker ツ

Isn´t there something else missing? Shouldn´t there be a ¨Don´t Like This¨ button on every post as well?

Wouldn´t that raise another question, whether you can make a post and then ¨Don´t Like This¨ to your own post?

Or would there be a rule that you can only make posts which you ¨Like This¨ yourself.

I think we need a Referee or Umpire´s opinion, i´m confused.

Exactly, haven't seen any explanation to this, so I thought I bring it up.

The Joker ツ

I do like what I have written, but I have yet to click my own like button. I do not think it is something I would consider.

I see it as a way to get the ball rolling. People will probably like it, if I like it, myself. Who knows!
People are unpredictable in how they think.

All the best and more!
David

Yup, however, why having a button if you never use it? And our WA creators must have something in mind with this.

The Joker ツ

Let's put it to the test if it really makes a difference when writing a blog David, or can you say from your experience there is more interaction when you like first?

The Joker ツ

To be honest Stefan...I see it there so I just click it, lol. There is a reason it's there so why not :))
David

Agree, good idea, then from now on we will click it.

The Joker ツ

Very true people are unpredictable. I did not think of it that way, "to get the ball rolling."

Yeah, but you cannot unclick it ones you clicked it... once clicked you are done...

The Joker ツ

I think you should believe in what you write. So whether I like it or not is not as important and whether I had a positive impact on someone else. Let someone else “like me” as an indication of whether I was heard. I don’t need to reaffirm what I already believe.

I always though you write in what you belief, no? As other way around you may write things, which changes the ways of your thinking and so over time you will change the way you are writing things down.

Now coming back to the question, why is there a "Like This" button for ourselves?

The Joker ツ

It's just my opinion, but if you don't like what you've written, you won't publish it. You shouldn't have to like it yourself. I have to agree with Dean, it sounds arrogant. If you're not happy with who you are already, stroking your own ego won't really help. Leave the likes up to your readers. Again, it's just my opinion.

Don

Yes Don, makes sense to me, but why would Kyle and Carson give us the option then?

The Joker ツ

I think if you don't like your self then you more then likely will not like your post or better yet the content within...

So you say, we should press the Like This button after publishing, because if we do not, we show everyone we do not like our own posting?

I better quickly find that button....

The Joker ツ

Yes. Someone has to be the first, then others will follow.

Hi Marion,

Nice to see you here on my blog. :))

So this is something you read in Kyle's or Carson's blog or tutorial or is this your own opinion?

Should we all click on Like This once we published our new blog?

The Joker ツ

Well...if it's good enough for Marion...it's good enough for me!

Just my own experience Stefan from 'Liking' videos on YouTube.

Thanks Marion, I will just click like this, that button must get clicked, it has something to do then.

The Joker ツ

I have never thought too much about it to be honest. It is left to one's own interpretation. I love myself and I love my articles so for me, it says that I am pleased with what I have produced.
David

Hi David,

I love myself too, my brain is fantastic, we tease each other from time to time, it is all out of love and fun.

Just wondering why Kyle and Carson gave us this option, there must be a valuable reason for it.

The Joker ツ

Yes Stefan. You seem to notice the "finer things" around here in that saucer. :) Would never have thought of that. Good observation. Yes, there is a reason for everything. You better believe it and I am sure you do.

David

David! My Man! Well noticed brother!

The Joker ツ

While I believe you should like or love what you post (Naturally) I'm not sure about liking your own material as it might give off too much Arrogance/Ego and some just might take it the wrong way. I like to remind people of a great analogy. Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius literally hired a slave to follow behind him and every time someone cheered and bowed to the Emperor, the slave would tell Aurelius, you are just a Man, just a Man. It helped the Emperor keep a proper attitude about his reign.....

You got a point! But:

what do you think Kyle's and Carson's intention is it to have an option like that at all?

There must be a good reason, they create education and teach us how to build our business, so it must be something we should do, what else is the reason to have this option at all?

The Joker ツ

That is good point. I'm not sure what their thinking is behind that option.

It will be nice to see Kyle or Carson here to teach us in this question.
