Cryptojacking! New Way of Mining Cryptocurrencies!
Tuesday, February 13, 2018
Dear Readers,
Cryptojacking is the new way of mining cryptocurrencies. Be careful and make sure you have anti malware and anti virus software up to date as well patch your computer as soon new updates are out. The bad guys are using this technique to use your computer to mine crypto currencies.
Many UK government websites are affected, it says enough how sever it is. People who visit those websites will be affected as well. The government is taking action to remove the malware from their websites.
It is getting worse the more people are using crypto currencies. What happens is you visit a website which may have a tool running, which will use your computer to mine crypto currencies on your computer using your resources and transfer it back to the website who injected you with this in the first place.
What you can do:
- Visit legit websites only
- Keep your device up to date (phones, computers)
- Keep your security software up to date
- Keep you software up to date
- Keep your apps up to date
- Keep an eye on news coming out so you are warned.
Stay Safe People!

Thanks for the heads up, I just started the Crypto-ride and need to read these things to understand the seriousness of protecting yourself. Thanks again and hopefully all is good!
Hello Elizabeth, you are welcome.
Electronic money (crypto) is a part of our life now and will get more used over time, so will also increase the dangers in using them and ways will be found to misuse them. It may happen that one day we will have no FIAT anymore and only crypto.
Stay safe and thank you for asking, I am fine, busy! :))

Thanks, Stefan. Would using private browsing when buying online be another way of keeping safe along with clearing history immediately when finished.

Hi John,
You are welcome, the problem is if a website is infected and you visit this website and you do not have malware and virus protection, which could identify the infected site, your computer will be infected and used till you close your browser and clean the history, cookies.
Hope that clears things up.
Stefan
Thanks, Stefan I understood about malware and virus protection.
