It is definitely a huge niche that my generation can't completely comprehend but my children sure do. My oldest son is in school now learning to develop games and apps and his paid job is building computers for gamers. I may not play the games, but I sure understand that is a niche that can drive clicks and revenues; especially when paired with YouTube

Wow awesome, at the time I was in computer class they had those big chunky text processor computers :D

Learning gaming in school, yeah that is fun. :))

Amazing just got off of the phone with a former game designer - now web animator. He got out of the game design business - because of number of years and money it took to get a game to market. Has found greater success in developing animated mascots and logo's with business owners.

Depends on the game and how it is marketed. Sell the people what they want... Sell what they do not want and there you go, no money to make...

What a good niche to target. Not into gaming myself , but son & son in law are definitely hooked. I just don't want to get hooked on anything this time consuming and I have an addictive personality to contend with. Spent too much time getting rid of bad habits and at my advancing age do not need to develop anymore habits! I certainly enjoyed your post!
Thanks, Pat B

Pat, you can get hooked to incoming revenues, just think about that, your sons play and you cash in. :))

You got me there! Off to the games!

I don't play games all that much. This is mostly due to the loss time that playing games causes. I used to play World of Warcraft and I would still be playing if it weren't for the fact that I get suck into it and 5 or 6 hours later I have accomplished nothing.

I agree, this probably a great niche. I will have to think about how I
would attack this without getting the time wasting trap.

Only 5-6 hours? That is nothing, I often played gaming marathons, starting at 18.00 and play through till morning 07.00 hours and that every week, and we played strategy, 3D shooters, some racing games, all that was fun.... that were my LAN parties with my friends. Nowadays all online, my last long gaming session was last year in December where I was playing Abzu, that was the best game I have played for a while, what an experience. I had to play it till the end, so that was a loooong night ;-)

If you have fun with it why not playing and commenting on it, share it with friends and others and implement a niche. :)

I will definitely put some thought into this.

Thanks

My husband is a huge gamer. I just wish I could convince him to take advantage of the lucrative income potential of this niche. I wrote a blog post on the gaming industry for a content company I've worked for in the past and thanks to my husband's input, the 500 word article was picked up immediately by this company. Gaming is not my thing, but it's a huge industry with lots of income potential.

Perhaps you should take advantage, and then when he sees what you are doing, I could imagine he is going to assist you and help you out. But do it if you have fun, that is the most important thing. :))

I am not a big gamer. I do stop in from time to time a take a few mintutes to unwind. But this usually gets me into trouble.. my few minutes turns into a few hours!!!! This is why I stay away from gaming.

I know kids that are getting addicted to gaming, and I don't think thatis a good thing. They need a more rounded world.

But it is FUN!!!!!

Just sayin'

T

Guide your kids is the best way, play with them and explain about the goodies and baddies about gaming, I know parents who did this and their kids are not addicted to games... So they can learn, if you don't they will find ways to do it anyway without learning why there is good and bad, it is like the cookie jar, kids go and take cookies, especially if it is not allowed, curiosity kills the cat....

Yes indeed Stefan.

I believe that a lot of people use the social media and gaming, and anything else connected to the internet as a "babysitter", That is just WRONG......on soooo many levels!

T

Yup and you can see the results in the next 10 years to come....

Yup!!!!!!!

I am not a gamer but my son is. He is looking into and is considering WA for the very reasons you identified.

He went to a new Virtual Reality arcade that just opened here and said it was absolutely crazy. That is taking gaming to a whole new level and he sees it as another big opportunity in the gaming space.

Well I can tell you, Virtual Reality is the future, and the day will come that we all will see websites in 3D... mark my words... ;-)

Thanks for the inspiration. I'm not a gamer at all and have seen so many games on affiliate networks, but it didn't occur to me until just now how I might incorporate them into my site. I think I just may be able to make it work for my niche, being that there are such a wide variety of games out there. Wouldn't have thought of it!

Then I am happy my article has helped you bringing you new ideas how to improve your business. :))

No doubt about it, I'm a hooked gamer and have bought collector's edition for some games. You could just imagine the number of games I have installed in my pc and mobile.

Now to get a slice of that gaming cake... yum... and get back all I've spent on games... my money, my time and my youth lol...

You are never too old to stop gaming.

Btw did you know you can make a full living out for playing games and thousands of people are watching you? Another interesting niche?

I think this is huge... at least in Korea where the gamers play in front of a real live audience, there could be thousands watching, just like they are attending a concert by a superstar or something. This is a pretty interesting idea.

So when will you share your talents with the world Gamer OneBlueMoon? :)))

Besides when, you should ask who, what, where, why and how as well :)

All will be revealed in due course...

We all are curious now.... :)))

Aha and I have achieved my aim...
