Google+ Purge! How Many Followers Did You Lose Today?
Dear fans and readers,
Did you notice the sudden drop in followers too? How many followers did you lose today? Wait you were affected eventually and you were taken down too? Google has started another purge to take down accounts who do not follow up their guidelines!
For any business owner, this is serious and you do not want to fall for the purge, which Google is initiating once in a while to take everyone down, who is not following their guidelines.
Are You a Rule Breaker?
So before you sign up, you might want to read the regulations, terms and conditions, and hold yourself up to it, otherwise your hard work may be gone in the split of a second. And once taken down, it will be hard work to start again. (under another email address).
Now if your account was connected to your business, the name too, that will be a big loss and Google may see it when you start again refering to the same sources as your old account..
So what are those rules? Well Google takes following accounts down:
- Spammers
- Scammers
- Fake accounts
- Inactive accounts
- Post violator accounts
Now is that bad, no, it is to protect us from such accounts and practices. But you should know, if you created an account and then not using it for a longer period of time, you will be removed.
Are You Active on Google+ ?
Activity means, like posts, create posts yourself and so on. So make sure if you create your account to use it once in a while or before you know it you are being purged!
Besides of the Google+ purge, you may also lose followers, who might not like what you post, or just lost interest. If you see a drop regularly you should ask yourself the question. Are you providing useful content to help your followers or are you just advertising products and services? Many don't like direct advertising, so be careful in what you post.
Don't overwhelm your followers either, 1-5 posts a day is more than sufficient. And last but not last, interact with your followers, go to their postings and if you see something you like, leave your comment and or like their posts.

Hello and thanks so much for this very helpful post. The only issue I am having is following people when I try to follow them. Every now and again the follow button works. Most of the time it doesn't work. Have been seeking to resolve this issue for weeks now but still have yet to find the answer to this problem.
Have you had this issue before or know of anyone and if the answer is yes how did it get solved. I have been reaching out for weeks but still, have not found the answer. Thank so much, all the best of success and have a good day.
Did you try a different browser? I had lately some issues myself, my browser was causing issues. Backing up your browser profile and create a new one can also resolve many issues.
You can also try to flush your DNS cache if you work with a pc.
Hold down the windows key on your keyboard and press R
type cmd and enter
type:
ipconfig /flushdns
hit enter
... then reboot.

Not sure how many I have lost, but I do engage and do what you are talking about in your post, for the reasons I wrote about on the blog on my profile.
Doing this works well
I saw a drop of over 50 today, and that means another purge from Google. I thought I let you people know as it is easily overseen and many are not aware of the guidelines with Google+
