FaceBook Hoax Goes Around!
Dear fans and friends,
Please be informed there is a FaceBook Hoax going around, where someone of your friends might send you a message through messenger. You can ignore it as it is a hoax.
A hoax is similar to fake news, so the story is not true and only there to make fun of you and spam your friends and followers with this content, probably to frighten you.
Here is an extract of that text:
"Please tell all the contacts in your messenger list not to accept anything from Fabrizio Brambilla. He has a foto with a dog. He is a hacker and has the system connected to your messanger account. If one of your contacts accepts it, you will also be hacked, so make sure that all your friends know it. Thanks. Forwarded as received.
Hold your finger down on the message. At the bottom in the middle it will say forward. Hit that then click on the names of those in your list and it will send to them"
Whenever you receive messages like these or similar, do your own research. Use a search engine like Google and consortium, and look for that name is a good way to see what pops up. Or take a part of the text and search for that. You will see quickly if it is for real or not. Do not just forward it without having looking into it. Also contact the person, why he she has send you this and why they think it is causing harm.
Don't let others frighten you with such messages. You should also think about the consequences, as such messages can harm that person, you would defame someone, just because you believed it is true, just think if it were you...
And have you ever had such warnings on your FaceBook messenger?

Hi, Stefan. Yes, I have received messages like that from a couple of my friends on FB. I'm sure they don't realize that it's a hoax, because it sounds so real. The ones I have received are almost identical except for the name of the person who has supposedly been hacked.
Hi Carol,
Yes this is a repeating hoax with different names, now just think it would be your name in there, people should first look it up before acting as it damages other people's names in this way, it is a kind of defamation and it could even result in a lawsuit against you.
Stay safe.
Stefan
You are welcome, and whenever someone sends you similar messages, always look it up, you can also ask the originator why he she send this to you in the first place and inform them it is a hoax, teaching them too.
In my opinion, FaceBook a.k.a. ScamBook is hoax central. The world's largest source of viruses, hackers, scams, spam, privacy invasion, or any other digital nasty you can think of. Simply not worth the risk.
If you think like this, then you better do not use the internet at all (this includes your mobile phone and the so called apps.... some can also be infected and misused to get your data), as you can find intrusions everywhere.
Facebook has it's positives and concentrate on that as it can bring you many customers to your website / business. It is very powerful.
And secure yourself with security software as well, it is not a 100% failsafe, but it helps in many cases.
Cheers,
Stefan
Hi Stefan. Yes I’ve seen quite a few of these - almost as bad as ridiculous fake news and falsified pictures on Facebook.
It’s almost getting to much of a chore to sift what’s genuine these days.
Thanks for sharing
Terry
Yeah it has no ending, informing others is important, the more people learn how to identify this fake stuff, the less we will see it happening as the effect of reacting on it is gone.
Stay safe,
Stefan
I never have on messenger, but I have received emails similar to this. I just delete them.
They are like those pop-ups that say your computer or phone has a deadly virus so you need to click here to remove it. By clicking you are actually downloading the virus.
These type of things are annoying. I don't understand how someone can do these things.
Guess these people are bored, it is trolling behavior. Great to read you are well informed and acting correctly. :)

Yes, you are quite right Stefan.
I have found that people can be so gullible when it comes to these types of messages. They blindly do as they are "told." It is still so very easy to deceive people on the web in spite of fact checkers, simple researching methods and all the info out there. It's annoying.
Thanks
David
Hi David,
Exactly, a search will clarify everything and harm can be avoided. Besides, you could lose followers by sending this to their messenger as they might see it as spam...
Cheers,
Stefan
