Blackmail Email Scam! Beware!
Dear fans and readers,
There is a new blackmail email scam going around to blackmail you to pay 2000$ in Bitcoins to an address or face a sexual video of you being spread. Do ignore this message as it is another scam to get your money!
This is the email, so you know what to look out for.

I give you the last 72 hours to make the payment before I send
the video with your masturbation to all your friends and associates.
The last time you visited a erotic website with young Teens,
you downloaded and installed the software I developed.
My program has turned on your camera and recorded your act of
Masturbation and the video you were masturbating to.
My software also downloaded all your email contact lists
and a list of your Facebook friends.
I have both the 'Info.mp4' with your masturbation
and a file with all your contacts on my hard drive.
You are very perverted!
If you want me to delete both files and keep your secret,

My apologies to all of you, who might have expected answers to previous posts of me, I have a lot of stress to resolve other matters and I was not even active on WA for several weeks now... I am working on solutions, that however takes up a lot of time, also my website is less active as it is supposed to be. So, after reading this I had to go check my spam folder to see if I got one!! And low and behold!!! There it was LOL!!!!
NOW... From what I can see it seems that someone either in WA is a scammer, or someone is trolling through the Instagram profiles grabbing our websites and website emails, because I not only got one for my technology website email, but one for my make money online website.
How could that be a coincidence??
And I didn't receive one through my normal email... Just my website emails. Strange right?
At any rate... This is total B.S. And if anyone gets this email just ignore it like Stefan recommends.
Besides if anyone does see a video of me playing pocket pool... I don't think I would really care. LOL!
However, I digress... I'm a happily married man and live in a country where pornography is illegal to view on the internet so it would be pretty impossible to catch me doing such dubious behavior. ;)

Take it with humor lol. :-) Same here btw, only from the website I received them, not any other address. Scammers always try new things, this one reminds me of the real "threat" a while ago as it reached the news that pc's were hacked and to retrieve your data you had to pay a randsome. People had not secured their computers and thus got hacked.
Always use strong passwords as well, like the ones from WA.

I think this is pretty funny, but can be scary too. I just hope no one falls for this.
And what do you think about only getting the emails sent to our website emails?? isn't this strange? coincidence or what?
I am also aware of the ransom scams out there... Like ransom-ware.

It is a bot that scans WordPress websites for email addresses, as I have one email address that is only on the website, and not used anywhere else. So the conclusion is it must be a bot.

You are welcome, we can avoid this by using contact forms only or use a plugin to code the email into not to be grabbed content.
I got several of these about a week ago.
At the same time, I also received emails that told me that my WA email account was shut down because there were too many emails in my inbox.
These scams are so obvious - that they are actually pretty dumb. But, what's even dumber is that they will probably successfully deceive at least a handful of unsuspecting folks.

Who knows where they get their addresses from, possible a bot collecting them and then send a mass email out.
Those who do not inform themselves might fall for it, normally a google can clear things up and if it is too new, just go on Reddit or ask within a community you are, like WA and surely we will be able to help out.

A warned person counts for two. We who are more experienced, know it is highly a scam, but newbies might get a shock of their life and might actually believe it.
So it is always good to warn our community about such emails.
