The First Two Sales

And I just had my first sales on my first niche site, as shown by Amazon Associates, two items were shipped!

I was quite pleased with this, despite the site only being up and operating for about forty days, so I'm thrilled with a quick sale.

It was a profit of only six dollars but we all need to start somewhere and it's the beginning of something big.

So, what did I do to generate enough traffic to lead a small conversion rate?

It's rather simple, but often overlooked, so here's how I accomplished my goals:

Great Content

It all begins with awesome content and keyword targeting people want. I found a common keyword I use for most of my posts in my niche site and it's one that,

a) generates between 300 and 800 keyword searches per month,

b) generates about 40-100 clicks per month if indexed on the first page of Google, and

c) is low hanging fruit with a surprisingly low competition of under 100 QSR

d) as an added bonus, it's also between 90-95 in terms of an SEO rating.

Not only is the content something that's always in high demand, especially this time of year, it's also something of a brand people can identify with.

Utilize Site Comments and Site Feedback

I can't stress enough on the importance of using site comments and site feedback for my posts. I always try to give at least four comments a day and earn myself two comments for myself, ditto for site feedback.

I like to utilize these tools each time I go to create a new post. They're great and will always help out your Google rankings, giving you more outside traffic. In fact, even after going a couple days without posting articles, I still gained moderate traffic.

Why?

Improvements made to my site via site feedback and comments added to my site that helped its rankings. It's a wonderful feature that we have here at WA.

Stay Narrow

A niche site is just that; a niche. Keep that niche narrow. Do this with each site you have and Google will reward you. Also, you'll build site trust even faster this way, too, as your readers will know what to expect when visiting your site.

Keep your niche narrow and you'll build a fanbase. Yes, it means that if you have multiple niche areas you'll need to create multiple niche sites and brands, which takes time, energy, and a lot of work.

However, by building different audiences in different brands, each niche site will allow you to take a cluster of tusting fans, rather than if you have a broad site where readers may or may not know what you're writing about next.

Keep Building Content

If you haven't seen much in action or sales just yet, keep building content using a few of my guidelines up top. Use Jaaxy to research relevant keywords. Target low-hanging fruit, meaning keywords that might generate traffic but have little competition.

Ensure you're mentioning your keyword in your first paragraph and title. Don't go hog wild and stuff keywords all over the text as Google frowns upon it. Just write your post as you normally would and you'll be good to go.

And most of all, don't give up. It will come, just be precise with your content and Google will reward you while web traffic streams through.
