Never Underestimate The Creativity Of A Child

This won't be your usual kind of blog post, but you may get a laugh out of it. I found it so funny and creative that I just had to share it.

I now have 13 grandchildren. The newest addition was born Saturday, September 14th. She is doing fine, although a little underweight. With all of these grandchildren and my four grown children to boot, we never say we've seen it all when it comes to kids.

Today my 7 year old granddaughter, who lives with us, proved this once again. She came home from school today as usual. We noticed before bedtime that she was somewhat irritated, and was pulling at her ear. So we asked her if her ear was bothering her, to which she replied "I think there's something in my ear".

So we sat her down, got a flashlight, and proceeded to check it out. Upon looking in her ear my wife's eyes opened wide and she exclaimed "Tiffany, how did a tooth get into your ear!". I was like, what??? A tooth? And I looked and behold it was a molar, a childs molar, lodged about halfway down into her ear canal.

I couldn't contain myself and just started laughing. Having a lot of grandchildren we've seen a few different things get into a childs ear, but a tooth? After I got my wits about me, I asked her "Honey, how did this tooth get into your ear?". She said that she had fallen down at school and somehow the tooth had gotten lodged in her ear. So I asked her if she had lost a tooth at school today and she said no.

So I asked her where the tooth had come from? She said "I don't know, but it hurts." and I said yes I can see how it would be somewhat uncomfortable, but that doesn't answer my question. Where did the tooth come from? She finally admitted that her friend at school (who apparently lost a molar), put the tooth into her ear for safe-keeping. I asked her why she let her friend do this and she said "well, she's my friend and I didn't want her to lose it.".

Obviously, I did not like my friends as much since I never let one of them put something in my ear for safe-keeping. Anyway, to make a long story short, we took her to the quick care clinic nearby and the doctor removed the molar from her ear.

So, when you think you've seen it all, just wait, your child will prove you wrong. I just wonder if the tooth fairy would have left the money where she found the tooth???

Have a wonderful day,

Michael

Same story... doctor to get it out...

Hilarious story! Thanks for sharing this, Michael.

LOL! Kids do some seriously 'crazy' things sometimes! Very logical to them, maybe.

I learned when I would babysit my nephew to never argue with kid logic. My nephew at 3 or 4 learned that boys and girls were different. I don't know exactly when, seeing as I'm not Mom or Dad. But he was telling me girls don't have butts. Only boys do. Hmmm. So I pointed at my rear and said, we do too. He said, no, girl pants make it LOOK like girls have butts.

Short of MOONING him, I had nothing. I couldn't prove it without showing him, so I just had to let him win that argument. Plus IF I had shown him, he'd come up with something else like it wasn't a REAL butt or something. I suppose I could have found naked people diagrams online, but I was leaving it up to his mom to fix that one. LOL

He never believed anyone when they would correct him, even as a toddler. He had 3 older siblings. I blame them for playing tricks on him and thus, he never believed anyone!

Too funny. They can come up with some stuff, no doubt.

Take care,

Michael

They definitely do!

Loved this Michael. It brought back all the silly things I did as a child and those that my children did. Thanks for sharing.

What a story, Michael.
I think until the day I pass away, there are still incredible stories that I have not come across.
Have a wonderful day to you too and your loved ones.

So amazing. Thanks a lot to writing something amazing. Have a blessed day.

Oh my goodness...what a cute story! I have heard it all now but I will have to wait until I am old enough for my own grandkids.
