Why is personal development so important?
Well, it is very simple. Most people are programmed for the J.O.B. mentality (just – over-broke). They believe that in order to have success they have to go to school, get a good education, and land a great career.
Well when life “happens” some people lose their job or careers and they are desperate for a new way to earn money; thus some people turn to online/internet/affiliate marketing.
When you are an online/affiliate marketing, you are own boss. Your success is completely dependent upon on the efforts that you put into your business.
So the whole notion of personal development in internet/online marketing is really about changing the way you think from an employee into someone who believes that they can be successful as in independent entrepreneur. Reading books by Les Brown, Napoleon Hill, Jim Collins (and the list goes on) will foster you through your development process.
Most people fail because they do not have the drive to grow within their new venture of IM. They join an opportunity and expect the “company” to make them money without them putting in any effort. Well it is not the opportunity; the opportunity is simply a way to leverage a product/service to receive commissions. You have to build YOUR business, when you learn that in the IM you can market any product/service or opportunity.
So why is personal development so important? -Because it changes your mindset. Once your mindset is changed, you will put in the time and effort to obtain the skills needed to become successful in this industry.

Great post , It's a true story to be successful in IM you need to go through some major mindset shifts. the value of your business depends on how you treat it. If you treat it like a 6 figure a month business you will build that residual. If you treat it like a $50 a month business , well guess what , that's all you might get out of it
Most have the mindset that the rich, wealthy, and successful people already had something special about them. So we don't ever stop to even think that there's any chance to be like one of them, since we don't have that something "special."
The reality is that the differences between these 2 kinds of people are all achievable, and nothing special. And it all begins with a shift in mindset.
Indeed! Once you shift your mindset you will realize that you can achieve more than you actually thought!
Internet Marketing, I like to say, can takes you from average to greatness. You're weakest set of skill become your strength, first in life then in business. Do more in less time. It's one of the ways to create more time to accomplish more with your life.
So true. To move from a JOB oriented person to entrepreneurship is a big shift and many are not aware of that or the coin has not dropped.
