Hey Tom,
Yes, you need to enter any and all HTML codes (which it sounds like that you were given) from your Text Editor or tab inside your WordPress Dashboard.
If you have the HTML code that look similar to the screen print below... use Text Editor.
If you have a regular URL or affiliate URL then follow Kyle's training: Adding Affiliate Links to Your Pages Hope you find this helpful.
Where are you getting the link you need to add to your site? It's hard to answer without knowing what type of script or program this is from. Perhaps can you include a screen shot of the message?
Bryce
This the link that I get from the affiliate. I know I need to copy and paste (the whole thing ?) into my post. When I do this and update the post I go back to test and click on the linked word in my page but I'm directed to a page of code ?????
Thanks, Tom

Hi Tom
I'm doing this right now, all you have to do
1. on the get link box click the arrow down
2. Copy the link that is displayed (this contains the information)
3. Highlight the text that you wish to link
4. Click on the link button on the text editor (you have to be in your post in WordPress)
5. then click on the wheel that drops down
6. enter the product link from the product into the URL line
7. Tick the open link in new window box and hit Add link
8. Click update on WordPress and that's it.
Hope this is what you needed, good luck, let me know how it went. or if I have forgotten any steps
Regards
Bernardo

There are multiple ways to make money from a website, but yes, in general, a product transaction has to take place at some point.

Hi - this platform teaches affiliate marketing. Typically, you write articles on a particular niche subject and offer suggestions for related recommended products. If a reader clicks on the links to that product and buys it, you earn a commission.
Once you have added lots of written content, you can apply to join affiliate programs. They will inspect your website before they approve you. Once approved, they will supply the links to the products you wish to promote.
