First let's talk about some of the criteria for a good post:

1. A good post has quality information. Folks are looking for information that they don't readily have available. If your post is written expertly because you did your homework, your readers will have found the expert for whom they are looking.

2. A good post is a longer post. It's hard to be authoritative in less than 1000 words. Some shorter proposals are okay but you need a few that are at least 1500 words to spice up your site and give it strength. (I pay for 4-500 word post and edit them to the longer lengths.)

3. A good post is linked to other related post on and off your site. Updates are added frequently to keep your site vibrant and alive. I use the plugin Yet Another Related Posts Plugin to link to other post on my sites.

4. A good post uses proper spelling and grammar. (If you have a problem, have your sister check it.)

Now let's talk about traffic:

1. Make sure that your site is SEO friendly. Choose a good team and add plug-ins that help the search engines monitor your site. Do you have a site map?

2. Use social marketing to bring in the initial readers. I use the sociable plug-in but there are many others. Don't forget https://www.pinterest.com/.

3. Consider paid ads in newsletters, on the social sites like Facebook and Twitter, and pay-per-click (PPC) to increase traffic.

So What Is the Miracle or the Magic of the Post?

Study the reader response to your post, not by using statistics but by looking at the other post on your site. When you write a good post, readers will stick around and read your other post. You will need a post hit counter plugin to see what is going on. I use Page Views Count.

If you write a good post, you will have a lot of hits on your other post. That is the Magic of the Post!
