How Long Should a Post Be?
But how long should a post be? Here are some things to think about:
1. It needs to cover the subject and not leave a lot of ends dangling in the wind.
2. It needs to hold the attention of the reader which means it should hold the reader an average of about 90 seconds.
3. For the average reader about 400 words sounds right as Kyle suggest.
4. The minimum number of words is about 250.
5. The maximum number of words is about 1000.
Make sure you use images on your blog. Keep it to-the-point, fascinating, personal and in a vain appropriate to the content.
Blogs can be reviews, news, entertainment, announcements, essays, literary, scientific, historical, how to, warnings, biographical or anything else you can think of. Humor us always a good tool. Carson told me that frequent blogging is much more effective than an occasional (monthly) article.
You don't need to deal with editors when you blog but you must be a good editor yourself or ask your daughter to take a look at your stuff before you publish. You can check your past blogs and correct them (update) as needed.

Great post John, I totally agree with the numbers you have put out there.
How often do you submit posts to your blog?
Thanks for the kind words,
Veronica
Some I post too more often than others. That's what happens when you have too many sites. But I like to post no less than three times a week. Glad you guys are back safely. John
I decided that some of my post are too short. I will go back and update them, an easy way to post. J
3 times a week that is really good, is the search engines loving that and ranking your content well? They must be :).
I try to post 1-2 times weekly but like you say that happens when you have too many sites :).
I try to keep my posts around 400 words...
Veronica
I always learn something from reading your posts! Here's a quote from Bishop Fulton J. Sheen from a long, long time ago. My mom was a Big Fan of his and watched his TV show regularly.
This is what he said in his lectures about writing: "Have Powerful Openings, Dynamite Endings, and Keep Them As Close Together As Possible.

Thank you John for the pointers. As soon as I catch up on the mail, starting my blog posting on my website and blogging in my profile are my next goals in place.
