Whoosh! There goes another year!

This past year's been a time of introspection and of building, tearing down, and rebuilding over and over again trying to get to a more grounded sort of stance in my blog-making, my storytelling, and poetry-crafting.

I think I have built a more viable system for making and scheduling posts that allows me the latitude to respond to serendipitous encounters with new ideas that sparkle as well as revisit age-old concepts and mind-games without turning into a woo-woo airhead of little brain.

It lets me run down interesting people and organizations who are doing really cool things and gives me alternative ways of looking at ordinary life-at-this-moment incidents that are particularly aggravating or otherwise attention-grabbing.

My posting "schedule" now expands past the end of a first "cycle" of posts that will actually take at least about two more years to finish. (For me, one "cycle" is about 345 posts right now.)

Since I began this thing, I've developed six series of related topics, each with a particular and somewhat "outlier" stance that I want to continue to explore in future posts. These include:

  • "Un-Seeing" (new or unusual ways of seeing life),
  • the "IPS (Inner Peace Symptom) series (part of my ongoing collection of my own made-up aphorisms and distillations of life-lessons)
  • "Beyond Stuff-Love" (different stances that are not so materialistically oriented and perhaps less amenable to either objectivism or subjectivism exclusively with licks at paradox as well),
  • "The Real Old Style" (Hawaiian, Polynesian and other indigene ways of thinking),
  • "Wayfaring" (all kinds of interesting ways of journeying through the world), and
  • "Shaping" (learning how to make and follow-through on the choices that lead to the possibility of getting to your own dream).

My production speed still sucks but, then, speed isn't everything. Ambling lets you see more of life, I am thinking, and I'm okay with that.

I'm excited because I've also set up a thing where I am going to be curating works presented on YouTube from some excellent spoken-word and performance poets whenever I get bogged down in my own writing due to having to slash-and-burn and get the gunfunnit stack of ideas down to manageable again.

Maybe I can build some interest up in some other poets to submit stuff to the blog if I've got a crowd of poets milling about in there.

The pandemic put a kibosh on my efforts to get friends and friendly strangers to submit stuff for the thing so right now my "Guest Poet Portal" seems to be a doorway for numbnuts who apparently have nothing better to do than spam me.

The "Other Voices" thing might actually overcome that. I hope.

Maybe once I get more comfortable with this thing, I shall actually get my head around learning to make money off this thing. I do keep falling down on that one. (Sigh!)

Right now, though, I'm going through all the posts I've already written for the LIFE-BUILT POEMS: Living Out Loud blog and am working on adding links to other related posts from my blog as well as getting comments on my posts with your help. (Thanks, guys!)

I continue.

I hope you guys do too. May the new year bring every joy to you....
