Looking at the innards

I guess my jones is lifting up the hood (of anything) and looking at what's under there, trying to suss out what is happening and why. And then, of course, I can't resist tinkering....

I have to keep remembering that the goal is not to be a broke-anic. Sometimes adding just one more little torque to a thing is a bit too much. Oh, well...here goes.

My blog, LIFE-BUILT POEMS: Living Out Loud, is all about that tinkering jones, I guess. It celebrates human creativity and connection (to other people, to the world, to the Divine).

As a title for a wanna-be famous thingamajig, that thing sucks. I mean, nobody KNOWS they are actually looking for poems, right? Never mind that I see every person's life as a poem or a story. Most people don't.

So the strategy's become developing the blog as product. I'm here working on figuring out how I can use it to help people craft their own best story or poem -- how to live their own best life.

My mission statement, such as it is, is "Minding Meaning and Mana." Another non sequitur. (Sigh!)

Most people think Mana is the name of some rock band or something -- if they've even heard of it. (I say it's a Polynesian concept connected to developing "presence.")

Eventually there will be other stuff connected to the blog that I'll sell as adjuncts to it -- books, perhaps. The affiliate marketing thing will be useful for sussing out other people's products that relate to it as well.

Mostly, I am trying to showcase stuff that I've found valuable in my own dance: books that really help, people who had seminal ideas that make a huge difference and good concepts that make littler differences in the way other people walk, organizations that help for real and multiple views of foundational ideas that we do as humans anyway.

I figure that all the guys in white lab coats who study humans are looking at stuff the rest of us Muggles do anyhow.

Some ways work better than others and the Smartypants guys track down the good moves and write them down and figure out how and why they work better. This could be a useful thing for us ordinary folks to know.

The ancient wisdom guys come with all kinds of lineages of study about how humans do their dances.

Very often regular people just don't run across these ways of thinking and, for real, the wise guys talk in riddles and just confuse the heck out of everybody they meet. I thought it would be cool to make a place where people could come taste the dishes these guys cooked up as well.

Meantime I'm learning how to dance the SEO dance and check out other marketing schemes and such.

Whew! I feel better for having figured out a kind of sorta direction. I admit it isn't what most people would aim to do, but, then, I guess I'm not most people. I'm just me.

Hope your journey's getting interesting too.

I've tasted some of the dishes you have on your menu and I have to say, they were delicious and the service was impeccable.
You could have 'MM&M' that might piggyback some.
'Presence' is itself key, maybe ? Spread the url any and everywhere you can. You have uniqueness and once visited a second or more time is guaranteed. For me and mine, it's getting the once.

Hey Twack:

Your musings are getting me thinking too. Thanks, dude! I'm glad you like my blog.
