Gratitude is the Theme
It occurred to me that this year of deep uncertainty has been a major gift to me.
The world stopped being "Normal" and business as usual stopped being mostly One for Self with a sprinkling of Some for All. The same-old busy-busier-busiest, get-'er-done slog just wasn't working as well as it used to. Lock-downs and lay-offs kept getting in the way.
For some folks, it wasn't working at all.
All of a sudden, one more time, here I was facing my own mortality again. It was in my face and personal. And it wasn't just me. It was everybody in the known world.
I did find out that it actually doesn't feel better when everybody is headed-for-hell-in-a-handbasket same as you. The fear-monger din in my ear was not a help either. The push and shove and finger-pointing didn't help.
What did help, for me, was the reminder that there are folks out there who are willing to put themselves forward to help each other get through some hard with dignity and with grace.
What did help, for me, was a reminder from many entrepreneurial sorts who looked at new situations and started figuring out how to adapt themselves to their morphing worlds and who kept on looking at other ways to get the things that needed doing done.
What did help were the words of encouragement to keep on -- rethinking and thinking again about what has meaning in your life and what is important to you, and moving forward or sideways or up or down or back or wherever -- going on towards better, or stepping back into what used to work just fine before we all got too busy to feel the overwhelming gratitude that comes when we get the small things right or make another little thing better for someone else.
Thanksgiving day is done, but thanks-giving can keep on going, I say.
Be well, guys...and thank you.

Netta, you are so right. This year has seen so many good people step up and help others. Finding new ways of doing and encouraging. We do have a lot to be thankful for, every day.
Bux
Thanks for the comment, Bux.
