Completion of Level 2 Training

Last Update: June 05, 2021

Hello

I am Robert and I have come to the end of the level two training.
This blog is part of the homework.

The picture above kind of represents my first days here. I hated WordPress ten years ago and when I began setting up my first website here, I felt like that kid looks. ha ha

Thankfully that is much, much less the case.

I am becoming a little more capable inside the WP back office, though I feel that I am a long way from proficient and far from confident. However, I am indeed learning. But I do find it hard to remember what I learned last week on what I may be trying to do today. A recent example is my daughter, who did a critique on my site, pointed out that my www links did not work. It took me only a few minutes to sort that out, and when I found the solution I realized that I had seen it in one of the training videos but completely forgot.

And my typing really sucks ! I used to type a goodly number of reports on my job and averaged maybe 40 to 50 wpm. But since retirement, that has truly declined. BUT if is already showing signs of improvement in the few posts I have done.

I set the goals in the lesson today, to publish 25,000 words and 20 more posts by months end.
Thinking of material isn't going to be a problem, I can be quite verbose.
It will be the typij9n g .... the typping..the TYPING !!
;)

Deciding on a niche, initially was a bit hard. Too many things and not a full grasp on how it would be employed.
I settled on 'Hats' for the first website. And anything related to hats. Stories about, buying challenges, health related. Anything that can fit into the theme of hats in some way or other.

I did not choose based on knowledge, oh no. That would have made sense, but picking a niche based on an interest in and liking for something seemed to allow for more pleasure during the learning phase.
And learning I am. I know more every day.

So, my successes are in the area of the back office and creation of posts.
The back office gave me so much challenge at the start but is slowly and pleasingly less so daily.
And my posts, or specifically my post research is getting more clarified. It took very little time to get into using Jaaxy. And I quickly caught on to modifying my terms to maximize the low competition.

My 3 month goals and 6 month goals.

Well? For my 3 month goals I have but one. I will be happy to carry on in the learning phase for the next couple if months. Yes of course I would like to be making some income at this, but I would like to have my site running very smooth before adding affiliate links. I would like to feel confident that anybody who connects to a link will be happy. I would like very much if those who visit my site and do make a purchase through some link, like my site enough to return. Repeat business, right.

My 6 month goals are only two.

The first is that once I am happy (in my 3 mos goal) and have mt site running at a degree of smooth operation that I am satisfied with, I will begin adding my earning links. I will of course research the choices and learn how the system works before then, and I may even try a test of a link or two.

After I am happy that things are working right, I think I would like to expand out to another site ( or more?)

And that is about it.

Thanks for taking the time to read through and have a great day !
Robert

Robert super goals. Might I suggest you try Voice to Text. This might take the strain off the fingers and improve your quantity of quality content. I am sure your daughter would be happy to help as she sounds like a Technie, if you are not minded.

Hmm not really. Have not used one I pulled off the shelf recently so I could not recommend it comfortably. However there are loads.

Hi Robert - as a 'free' speech-to-text editor Google Docs has a very competent one. Yes, you will have to edit it once you have finished to get rid of the ums, ers and ahs but it will take the bulk of the effort out of your typing.

Hello Robert,

You are doing quite well
in spite of that picture. :-)

Everybody goes through
that period the first time
but you made it.

Keep on keeping on and
you will reach your own
destination quickly and
in peace.

God bless you, Robert!

Yeah there is Jay, but I think you are only going to advance so far. For instance, with the free, the training is limited.

You need to get this answer from somebody who knows more about the system.

I wish I could help more but I am learning it myself and I upgraded to the premium early and never had to deal with road blocks.

If you don't get an answer soon I would suggest you go to the help button and ask again. ( Help button at the top right of the tab bar and select the question from there)

Good luck man.
Hey, if you don't find yor answer in a couple of days from now, message me and I will try again.

Hey there Jay

I went back and watched the introductory video on the Home page of the site. I think you will benefit in watching that again also.

Kyle lays out pretty well where you need to begin to think about taking on a membership.

Have a great day.
