Who needs a US tax ID number - an EIN ?
It's pretty easy actually to get an EIN. It's totally free and helps with some aspects of business building. For example, I used it and the PDF I got for the govt to prove my business legitimacy to Google My Business last week. This enabled me to get my business listed in Google My Business finally after weeks of arguing with them.
I recommend an LLC though as those require less from the govt

Good morning Tim, this is something that I will have to look into. Do I need an EIN for each business or can I umbrella them under one business ?
Up to you. Whatever suits your scope and need at the time. I recommend an LLC though as those require less from the govt.
