Is anybody making much off of Google Adsense?

Hi. I'm just curious. I had such a hard time getting Google Adsense to work that I gave up on it. Is anybody making much money off of it?

I figured the ROI wasn't worth the effort. Am I wrong?

Thanks,
Tim

They wouldn't let me sign up. I applied right when I was getting started and they said I had to build up some traffic first. So that's what I'm working on.

Good to know. Thanks Julie :)

No need to let that discourage us though right?

Absolutely not! No discouragement here. Just motivated to get more work done!! :)

Amen sister!

I will let you know. I am in the process of getting an agreement....

Interesting answers, good to know!
I never tried Adsense because of the reasons you mentioned (messy looking ads...). As I would need more traffic it's not worth thinking about it either, now...
So, you helped me with your question, thanks! :)

You're very welcome. Thanks for your input! I can certainly relate to what you say. Similar to where I'm at with it.

I have read of people making full time income with Adsense.
My experience certainly is not as great as that.
I've been with Adsense for a number of years. The first few years were reasonably profitable, although certainly nowhere near a full time income I felt it worthwhile keeping the ads going.

Now my earnings from Adsense are pathetic. I haven't changed anything, and I have just as much traffic as before. I know that Google has made changes with focusing on Mobile, and whatever I try to increase the income, it just doesn't happen. However, I have over $90 sitting there. I need $130 NZ before they will pay out. It could be months before that happens, but I don't believe in throwing dollars away!

Wow thank you so much for sharing your experience with it. I'm with you I won't throw away dollars, but adsense doesn't seem worth sacrificing the quality I'm shooting for.

Thanks again,
Tim

I too was rejected by AdSense not long ago. I started looking at other similar places. Infolinks was the one I landed on but did not like what it did to my site so I took it off.
Some in the community say not to add AdSense as it adds a bunch of stuff to your site and makes it look bad. Also if you do not already have a large amount of traffic, it doesn't really pay anything. Pennies. Do you want to make your site look like that for small change?
Just sharing what I was told here. Ultimately it's up to the individual to decide.

I've been feeling the same. Thanks for letting me know. Now I won't worry about it as much. Especially because, as you say, I want people to like my site(s) while they are in their infancy and not turn them off with messy looking ads. I've only just begun building content in March.

Yeah if and when I get to where I have a lot of traffic I'll look into it more. I think I may rather have an ad up that pays more even then though.

Thanks for sharing, Tim.

Not yet, I'm still waiting for an approval. Makes sense if there's not enough traffic or none at all, but in time it will happen. : )

I applied to Adsense when I got to that part of the training but was declined because I did not have enough traffic.
When I asked on a post if this had happened to others, I discovered it happens often. The majority of responses was that it wasn't an issue because you don't make much.

I was declined by Adsense and my sponsor told me not to worry about because it wasn't going to pay much anyway. However, the people with mature sites might be doing ok with it and an income stream is an income stream. Bob
