I would like to set a redirect link to a specific word in my post. Example:
"... you can read about it in my post here"
In this instance I want the word "here" to be high
if you highlight the word here and then click on the chain link symbol in the wordpress editor, you can add a url or click on the gear symbolt to select any article on your site - don't forget to click on the open in new window if it is off site - you want yours to stay open as well.
Just a hint - instead of using the text here try using some text that describes wher they are going so something like - read my post on 'how to build a wall' this adds google juice to your link as it describes where peopel are going and google finds that it is a relevant link rather than 'here'
Good luck Tim

Hi Tim,
A simple way to go is to highlight the text, that you want to insert a link over by dragging the cursor across it, then while in the editor look for the button with the chain link in it click on that enter the redirect URL and then apply and you should be good to go.
Oh ok thank you very much! For some reason I though this could only be don in the Wordpress editor I completely over looked this option. Thank you for your help.
Is there a way to go back later and add links to words in Wordpress AFTER the post has been published and is already on my website?
yeah you can add links later -and some say that is a good thing - let google rank your article and then add the money links later.
For me i prefer to add them as i am going or i will forget them later - lol
Highlight the word you want to link, for example "here" then look for the little link option in your post options which looks like a little chain - click on that and add your link in :)
Thank you, I will give that another try. I figured that was the way to do it but when I highlight the text and click that link button, I expected a text box to come up in which to enter the URL, but no such think happened. Do you just replace the word "here" for example, with the URL and Wordpress does the rest?
