Im Getting Traffic Somehow

Hello Everyone

I didn`t think I would be writing a blog post again so soon but something good has happened. I`m getting traffic to my website. It`s a little bit of traffic but it`s still something. Yesterday when I checked Google Analytics it showed a little bit but I just checled again and it shows double the ammount and each user is spending a few minutes on my website.

It`s only a little bit of traffic and I have no idea where it is coming from. My website is indexed in Google and maybe in Bing and Yahoo soon but I`m not ranking much yet because I only just got back to wealthy affiliate as a lot of you know. I have shared each of my reviews on Facebook, Twitter and Pintertest but that`s all I have done.

I don`t if it is visitors to my website or if it is all me. I have visted my website a few times to check on things but that`s it. Does anyone know if there is a way to check in Google Analytics where the traffiic is coming from? If there is away then I will know where the traffic is coming from and how much of it is from my visits. I`m happy my website is getting a bit of traffic but I not sure how or where it is coming from. Nontheless I`m happy and I hope it continues and grows more.

Thank you for reading. Take care everyone.

Well done, Timothy!

Jeff

Thank you Jeff!

Timothy

You're very welcome, Timothy!

Jeff

Yes, if you have google analytics on your site, you can log in to your google analytics and select "real time" and it would show you a general location of where people are accessing your site. Another thing you could do is check your "clicks" on here and subtract however many clicks (estimate) you think you contributed. There may be a more precise way, maybe one of the veterans on here know.

Thank you

Wow congrarz Timothy! job well done.

Thank you Isabelo

Hi Timothy,

Scroll down to just below that line graph until you see the block graph.

Then click on "Aquisition Report"

This will take you to a new page which is a breakdown of where the traffic's coming from.

Scroll down until you get to the block labelled "Aquisition" and "Behavior"

This will give you the places the traffic is coming from.

You may see a section for "Organic", "Direct", "Referral", "Social".

You'll notice a blue bar next to any of these sections that show up.

Click in the blue bar and that will take you to a new page with a break down.

How Many users does it show?

If it's only one it's likely to be you.

Double check by:

You'll notice just above the stats a section that says "keyword", "source", "Landing Page", "Other"

Click on "Other" and then "Country".

Is that the country you reside in?

You can also click "City" to double check.

Is that the city you live in?

Basically, if it is you then you can block your ip address in your WordPress back office or via your SEO plugin.

I'm guessing that as your issue previously was traffic, this is likely to be you visiting your site.

But then again, perhaps some of your shares will have garnered a few visits.

You will find that under the "Social" block in Analytics.

Partha

Thank you so much I will go and check a bit later

I just went and had look following your steps. I have good news. Some of it was me but most it was not. I can`t believe it. I`m getting traffic from around the world! It shows US, Canada, UK, Belgium, Ireland, India, Netherlands, Sweden and Australia. [I`m in Australia]

The traffic is coming mostly from social media Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Quora. There is also a few direct visits which was probably me and a bit from wealthy affiliate which was probably people I asked to give me some feedback and comments but the rest is from social media. I can`t believe I`m doing it! Sharing my content on social media is working better then I thought. Now I just need some of this traffic to convert to sales.

What does bounce rate mean? It says bounce rate 56%. Thank you again for your help. It was very useful. Best wishes always.

Yaaaayyy!!!

Well done Timothy, I'm really pleased for you.

I will admit that Quora can be a goldmine, if you answer questions regularly, but only link to your content every once in a while.

Much the same as anything online, if you can position yourself as an expert, you don't actually need to do much "linking" to your sites. People will naturally go to your profile and click through to your website.

Facebook, Twitter, & Pinterest are also fantastic, as long as you're interacting once more, rather than just linking to articles.

Although, I view Pinterest more as a search engine, i.e. the older your Pins are, the more popular they can potentially become.

Direct traffic can also be that someone has attributed a "noreferrer" link to your content.

So, that could be someone else linking to your website, but "hiding" their status as the linking website.

Then again, it could just be you opening another post in a new window.

Bounce rate is basically the number of people who visit just one page on your website.

However, if someone visits a review article of yours, then visits no other posts or pages on your website, but clicks your affiliate link that will show as 100% bounce rate (they still only visited one article on YOUR website).

People tend to get a little mad over bounce rate, and try to get it as low as possible, and view this as "success".

However, it does depend on the types of articles you have on your site.

I have one website outside of WA and one that I have created in WA that both have over 90% bounce rate.

Most people would state that this is terrible.

Both websites produce a full-time income.

Could I try to get a better bounce rate?

Sure, of course I could, but it doesn't overly bother me.

The vast majority of visitors will only ever visit one page on any website and leave.

Your bounce rate currenly tells you that 44% of your visitors are viewing more than one page on your website

Partha

Thank you so much Partha for your explaining all those. Bounce doesn`t bother me either I was just wondering what it was but now I know. Thank you so much again for all of your help. Best wishes always.

Congratulations!!

Great to hear that things are picking up!

All the best!

Julia

Thank you Julia
