SnapChat Is Dying

Just read an article on The Verge that SnapChat is dying - https://www.theverge.com/2018/5/18/17366528/snapchat-decline... . It reported that fewer and fewer people are using the app.

Strangely enough, I was just thinking about that yesterday. Was walking to buy lunch, and as usual my thoughts start to wander. I suddenly thought of all the social media to be active on for the online businesses I have.

Then I recalled SnapChat. I had tried the app. And honestly, I really did not see how to use it to promote my websites or sell my products/services there.

After a few attempts at SnapChat, i abandoned it in favor or other apps like Instagram, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, Twitter and sometime LinkedIn.

And coincidentally, just a day after my thoughts about SnapChat, I read this article.

What Are Your Thoughts On SnapChat?

I never joined Snapchat and never will, not for business and not for private use. Never saw a point in messages and pictures that suddenly "disappear". Nothing truly disappears on the internet, so who has still access to my images. Anyways, not my thing

Snapchat truly dieing out? No clue. Not here in Norway yet at least. They love it, no matter what interface it has. It is however mostly known for its rude uses too (d*pics). Norwegians use Snapchat "en masse" for each and every moment of their day next to facebook and Instagram. Twitter is way less popular here I figured. It doesn't matter for my international business.

Steven

Very interesting, Steven, to see how different countries use social media. Thanks. :)

You are right Tim.
Snapchat has "one foot in the grave, and the other foot on a banana peel!"

They changed the design of their interface several months ago, and it was a disaster! The straw that broke the camel's back was when Snapchat Super User Kylie Jenner posted on Twitter a few months ago

"...sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore? Or is it just me… ugh this is so sad."

Their stock tanked and hasn't recovered since. Snapchat will be done soon.

Thanks for the info, Kaju. Glad we agree. :)

I have used it but never for business, only as a pleasure thing. I personally don't see how you could promote anything serious with it.

Tried and True

Elaine

So true. Thanks Elaine :)

there are alternatives with samsung and I phone now i think thats why its starting to go out

Oh I see. Thanks for the info. :)

I've never used snap chat. I've got enough social media platforms to deal with already!

True, Mia.
Totally agree with you.
And best to use those that are most suitable for our businesses. :)

As long as people take selfies there will be a need!

Taking selfies and using apps for the selfies are two very different things. People can take selfies. And they will choose an app that suits them best.

Oh and because Kylie Jenner made a post somewhere that said something like "I'm not using Snap Chat as much any longer, seems like its dying" so after she said that, the stock of snap chat went down significantly.... so you can thank the kardasians for that one lol

LOL

It's been dying for a few months. Since Instagram and Facebook added stories, it started dying.

That's true. That is what the article said too.

When IG and FB started stories, I knew it was the end of SC.

Me either. I am so overwhelmed with the social networks I have to keep up with at the moment, there is no way that snapchat is going to benefit me at all at this moment. More like be a pain in the a**

Glad we agree, Sophia. :)

i just focus on the Big 7. :)

I never caught the SnapChat wave, Timotheus. When it was introduced, I really didn't see how that could last long term.

Same here, Veronica. It was just so gimmicky. :)
