WA Vegas 2018- What An Experience!

My wife Nardia and I had an absolute blast in Vegas.

This was our first trip to the US and we loved every minute of it. We met some amazing people, had lots of fun and learned a lot along the way.

In this post, I'm going to share with you how it all went down. It’s hard to put into words how awesome the whole thing was, but I’ll do my best to share the highlights with you.

Exploring Vegas Before The Conference

We've always wanted to visit the US. So we figured why not see if Kyle and Carson were flexible with the flight dates for the conference. Turns out they were! So we hopped on a plane early and lined up our own accommodation leading up to the conference.

We arrived in Vegas on Tuesday night (30th Jan) at the Signature hotel after a long journey. So we pretty much walked around the hotel, got some food, and tried our luck at the tables on the first night.

The next day we ventured out of the hotel and explored the Vegas strip. Lots of interesting things to see and do so we really enjoyed this. After a while we decided to head over to the ‘Premium Outlets’, which is a shopping mall on the southern end of the strip. We did some shopping, ate some food, met some cool random people and eventually headed back to the hotel.

The next day we headed to Freemont street (in 'Old Vegas') which is on the northern end of the strip. The first thing we did there was visit an American diner. For those of you who live in the US that’s probably not much of a highlight lol, but it was something Nardia and I really wanted to experience being from Australia. It’s very different to the typical cafes we have here. Not only was the food amazing, but the portions were massive, the price was very low, and your coffee is re-filled as much as you want. Not to mention, the milkshakes are irresistible. We loved it.

Anyways, from there we explored Freemont street, did the ‘Walking Dead experience’ and took our time soaking up the Old Vegas experience. Then we started heading back towards the hotel and stopped off at the Stratosphere, a very high hotel, and went on some of the rides they’ve got on top of the building.

Yep… swinging off the top of a hotel about 900 feet in the air- not scary at all lol!

After that we continued walking south towards the hotel on foot. We ended up wandering through the Wynn hotel which several people recommended we visit. It was a very extravagant hotel to say the least and well worth checking out. The water light show there was pretty cool too..

Eventually we returned to our hotel and hung out there for the night. Awesome day.

On Saturday we saw Cirque du Soleil “The Beatles Love” at the Mirage which was very cool. Neither of us have seen anything like it, so it truly was an incredible show and a must see if you enjoy live shows.

On Sunday, the day before the conference, we headed to the Grand Canyon. And what an amazing place that is. Absolutely breathtaking.

That pretty much sums up what we did before the conference. We had an amazing time together and the conference hadn’t even started yet. So I was super excited to meet everyone and get into the next part of our journey.

The Conference- An Experience I’ll Never Forget

We checked into the MGM Grand hotel on Sunday, the day before the conference. Kyle and Carson were cool enough to book us an extra night since we came so far, and the suite was beautiful.

The conference wasn’t until the next night so we decided to have some drinks and play at the tables at the MGM and New York New York hotel, where we also went on their roller coaster ride.

Then Monday came around and it was time to meet everyone.

I have to say I was a little nervous meeting Kyle and Carson for the first time. The whole thing was a bit surreal. But after meeting everyone we felt right at home. They were very hospitable and made us feel welcome. We enjoyed some drinks, food, and got to know everyone while overlooking the city of Vegas from the Sky Lofts (penthouse suite).

It was a great start to the conference.

The second day it was down to business. I took my seat at the table where I had a WA notepad, pen, coffee mug and a couple hundred bucks waiting for me. We discussed a lot of interesting things during the conference. From what WA accomplished in 2017 and where we are heading during 2018. We also looked at the things we can do as affiliates to improve our business.

I can’t give too much away, but I will say that these guys have some AMAZING things lined up. Very exciting things on the horizon for Wealthy Affiliate members as you will soon discover.

After the conference that day, Nardia and I went on the 'high roller' which is a giant ferris wheel. Awesome views of Vegas from up there...

From there we met up with everyone and headed out for a steak at the Bellagio. Without a doubt, it was the best steak I’ve ever had. But it was the company that really made the night. Everyone enjoyed one another’s company and there were many laughs around the table. It was a really great and memorable night.

Steve and Vitaliy are on the left, followed by Nardia and I, Jay and Vince. Ronnie and Mishka are standing up behind us along with Regina and Ian. Awesome group!

If you look closely you can see the back of Kyle and Carson’s head in the table behind us, along with Nathaniell and Eric.

Anyways, from there we headed over to the tables and played some Craps. Nardia and I have never played this game and we loved it. Quite a fun and interactive game.

The next day (Wednesday) we got back into things and in the afternoon I had my personal meeting with Kyle and Carson. I have to say it was priceless being able to sit down with these guys and get personal insight into my business. Lots of valuable insights gained here.

That night we headed out to Top Golf which is a driving range with a bar, restaurant and pool. It was a really great game and overall experience.

This marked the end of the conference itself too. We got through everything in good time so we were free to do whatever we wanted on Thursday.

Nardia and I started out the day with a beautiful buffet breakfast with Ian and his wife Regina, along with Steve and Nathaniell. We really enjoyed the company and the food was great too. Nardia flew home that afternoon because she had work commitments, so from there it was a solo gig.

Thursday night was the farewell of farewells. Everything was ‘hush hush’ as we met up in the lobby, and from there we were taken via limo to a super exclusive section of the Mirage hotel. Apparently, Michael Jordan stayed there the night beforehand. It was a very nice place to be to say the least. Kyle and Carson really went all out here.

We enjoyed beautiful food, drinks, played Cornhole (a first for me) and we even had live entertainment. Kyle and Carson lined up an extraordinary magician who performed the kind of tricks you literally cannot get your head around. Mind blowing stuff. I’m pretty sure we were all beside ourselves afterwards lol.

At the end of the night we got some pics and said our goodbyes. It was a really cool night and a great way to end the conference.

What I Took Home From The Conference (apart from cool WA swag)

What I gained from this experience was priceless.

It goes without saying we had the time of our life! But apart from that there were some very tangible benefits in terms of my business. From key insights into Wealthy Affiliate and the many innovations coming our way, to everything I learned and will be applying in my business going forward. There some real ‘aha’ moments where I was able to see key areas of improvement and things I can work on to take my business to the next level. Both from Kyle and Carson themselves, and from the super affiliates at the conference.

Most of all, I was able to see firsthand what a great thing we have here at WA.

Carson and Kyle are great entrepreneurs who are always striving to add more value to WA for both members and affiliates. They put their members first and stay true to their core values. This is why it's such a great place to be.

Not to mention, the WA super affiliates (and those with them) are very cool people. Intelligent, friendly and very genuine folks. I mean, when you can travel all the way from the other side of the world and meet a bunch of complete strangers, from all walks of life, and get along like a house on fire?

It’s a real testament to what WA is about if you ask me. The whole experience has reinforced what a privilege it is to be part of WA and share it with folks.

Looking Forward To Doing It All Again- With You!

I want to conclude this post by emphasising just how possible this really is for YOU. I remember when I first started here at WA, how ‘far off’ making Vegas felt for me. As if it was just something ‘other people’ did.

But I’m living proof that literally ANYONE can do this. All I did was go through the training and take massive action. When times were tough, I pushed through. I kept on working on my business.

There’s no ‘secret’ here. It’s just time and effort. That’s it.

So if you want to be part of something truly great, I encourage you to get stuck into the training here and take MASSIVE action on your business.

I will be heading to Vegas again next year, and probably many years after that. So I’m very much looking forward to meeting you there. I know you can do this. Yes- you!

Cheers

I have read, with so much admiration for you, your post on your experience at Las Vegas. It is a great motivation for those of us who would want to be there in 2019. So see you..next year...in Vegas...hopefully, lols.
So let me run along...to work hard.
Seriously, you deserve it, first time I learnt of WA was on your website.
All the best.
Regina.

Thank you Regina, I appreciate that and absolutely look forward to meeting you in Vegas :) Cheers

Tim, I was waiting for your post since I remember you were supposed to be one of the new Super Wealthy Affiliates!!!

My God, your post is contagious with excitement! (Thanks for the inspiration).

Question - was it a fully paid trip for your wife too, or did you have to pay for her plane ticket or something?

Again, thanks for taking the time to share it with us!!

- Zarina

Hey Zarina, glad you enjoyed and thanks for reaching out :) We paid for Nardia's plane tickets and so forth, but she did score some free accommodation being with me which is cool.

Nice meeting you Tim :)

Hmmm, after I posted a comment here, Eddy responded to the one I posted on his post - he said it was all fully paid for his friend. Either it depends on the number of referrals made or maybe plane tickets from Australia are very expensive. Or maybe it was different for you guys since you went there a week earlier. These are my guesses.

May I ask 2 more questions?

1) What is the page builder plugin you used for your WA review? (I don't want sidebar and menu shown too).

2) Also the exit popup without email that I've been using isn't compatible with my current theme :(

Thank you in advance, Tim!

Likewise Zarina :)

Ah ok yeah it may be the higher plane ticket prices I guess. Not sure. Nardia did come out for dinner and Top Golf with us too, which Kyle and Carson paid for. So either way very generous of them.

No probs- I use Thrive Architect for selected pages (very sparingly) and Thrive Leads for exit pops etc. Works well for me.

Cheers :)

Wow The Experience sounds wonderful and thank you for your awesome description of it all including the grt. photos. I look forward to hearing the tricks and tips you found to grow your business and hopefully benefiting my business as well. I didn't realize you hail from Australia Nice place to be( so I hear ) Anyway, thank you again for the creative story of Vegas, it's the first description that makes me want to go. Maybe next year? Positive thinking:0

You're welcome Lee, glad you enjoyed :)

Absolutely, as long as you commit wholeheartedly to the training and take massive action there is no doubt in my mind that you will make Vegas. See you there!

Hi Tim,
What an awesome post you have here. Glad you truly enjoyed your time in Vegas and so inspiring for the likes of myself to really knuckle down and take massive action.

I cannot wait to meet Kyle and Carson one day and all the super affiliates. With the guidance of those guys, Vitaliy G and others here at WA I just know I am going to get there. Thanks for sharing your awesome experience and I do look forward to meeting you one day too!

That's very cool Sharon, I know you can make it too and I'm looking forward to meeting you! Lots of great entrepreneurs to learn from and connect with so you are going to love it :) Cheers

Really appreciate the time you took to write a detailed and personal account of your trip to, and conference in Las Vegas.

I could taste that steak at the Bellagio and, being a craps player, was happy to hear you enjoyed your time at the table. Did you leave a winner?

You're welcome Roger, glad you enjoyed the post :)

Oh man that steak was amazing. I'd just about travel all the way from here to the Belagio just for that! It's making me hungry just thinking about it.

I actually had some pretty good beginner's luck on Craps for most of the time. I also enjoyed playing 3 card poker and Blackjack. Towards then end I had a couple of not so good runs though, so I think overall I walked out a bit over breaking even. Good fun though :)

Hi Tim, it's been great watching your success and learning from you. It's funny to land in Vegas as your first time in the US, almost embarrassing (to Americans) if that's all you saw in the US! LOL but you got to see the breathtaking Grand Canyon at least! I bet you met some interesting people. lol. We brought our kids there last Sep for a long weekend and they saw some "funny" people on the streets. :)

Very exciting to hear of your experience!! It's always so nice to read about the Vegas conferences. I know this is possible for me, and anyone who wants to do it, but yes it takes massive action, see you there next year! ;)

Grace

Hey Grace,

Yeah a few of the other guys were saying that too lol. I get what you mean, the strip is awesome but also quite 'touristy' in some respects. That's one of the reasons we decided to venture outside of the strip for a bit, so we could see more of Vegas and surrounds.

Yeah the Grand Canyon was beautiful. Not just the Canyon itself either, the surrounding forest and wildlife was very cool too. Not to mention snow capped mountains. We even saw Elks and Chipmunks for the first time. It was really something special.

Awesome, really looking forward to meeting you next year! :) Cheers

Awesome story! I am glad to hear that you and your wife had a blast. I always wondered if my husband would be able to attend if I ever made it to Vegas so, this is great to know that he will be able to attend. I really appreciate that you shared your experience.

I am really amazed that there are rides on top of a building. I am so scared of heights that I think I will definitely pass on those rides but, I am sure that it is cool to see.

The pictures that you provided are awesome and good to see. I am so excited to hear that there are improvements coming to the community. We already have a great community now so, this will just make things better for us all, I'm sure.

Thank you for giving me the inspiration to keep pushing forward. Congratulations on making it to the Vegas and I know you can do it again...I wish you the best in your online journey and look forward to learning new things from you...Have an awesome day!

Yeah she loved it hey, and she actually made some new friends too which is cool. I think now she has more understanding for what I do too having spoken to other partners of affiliates which is nice.

Yeah the rides on top of Stratosphere are crazy, they even do a 'sky jump' which is like bungee jumping off the top of the building. I didn't do it this time round but maybe next time (maybe).

Yep, you are going to LOVE what these guys have lined up. It is truly awesome. Not just one or two things either, they've got SO much in store for the year ahead. Very exciting stuff!

Glad you enjoyed the post and I'm looking forward to meeting you and your husband in Vegas :) Cheers

Thanks for sharing. Very moving and inspiring.

I can feel the humility from Kyle and Carson coming through as well as their genuine concern for the success of WA's members. This is demonstrated by how you were treated in Vegas and how you were advised in your business; also the things to come for us all.

You are an excellent storyteller.

All the best and congratulations on your success!
David

You're welcome David, glad you got value from my post :)

Exactly. This was something that I was truly taken back by, as was Nardia. I mean, these guys are very, very successful. Yet they are incredibly humble. And I think this really sets the tone for the community as a whole, it's these core values that really make WA what it is. I think you can really see this too when you meet the super affiliates, they are all just genuinely down to earth folks.

Anyways, thanks for sharing your thoughts here, much appreciated. Cheers

Thank you for taking the time to respond, Tim!
Cheers!

David

It was great that you had a chance to see some of Las Vegas and the surrounding areas before the conference. What a fabulous way to come to America for the first time.

I have done the roller coaster at the top of New York, New York but never did the rides at the top of the Stratosphere. Each time I wanted to go, those with me chickened out. Wimps. lol

Did you go out onto the glass bridge/patio at the Grand Canyon? That is something I could not and would not do. The view of floating above the canyon with nothing under your feet is a bit too scary for me.

Yeah we loved that roller coaster haha, I thought it was pretty good for what it is. We went on the 'x-scream' and 'insanity' and they weren't scary at all even though I thought they would be. The insanity was a bit sickening going round and round in circles at such a high speed lol. Good fun though.

No we didn't do that man, I didn't even see it. We were at the South Rim so maybe that's at the West Rim? My wife is a thrill seeker so she would no doubt be all over that lol. We are keen to go back to the Canyon for a couple days and stay there too. Go on a proper hike to really experience it. There was one trail there that said it was about 9 hours return.

Wow! A 9 hour trail? That would most likely be an after the WA conference thing to do. Perhaps in a year or two I will finally make a strong effort to make the WA conference and meet up with everyone. Still focusing more on my other niches.

WOWEE! What an AMAZING post!! I got so drawn into it as you shared all your experiences and fun in Vegas! I felt like I was there with you guys!

I appreciate all the insight and excitement you shared. I can tell you were smiling and laughing as you wrote this. This is, by far, the best company anywhere and I'm also so blessed to be a part of it.

I work WA full time and am very slowly beginning to see some progress. I am determined, like you, to make this something I can be proud of. I have to go back through the training several times to really get everything, but it's a journey worth taking!

Thank you for all your wise advice and I hope to join you, your wife and the group in the future. Take good care and thanks again for the motivation! Very compelling and gorgeous photos! Wow, all the way from Australia! I thought I was far from Vegas, living in Massachusetts! HAHA. You've made me look at it from a different perspective and it seems more possible, especially after reading your post! Thanks again. Glad we're connected.

Glad you liked the post and thanks for commenting :) Absolutely, as long as you keep going through the training and taking action you are going to reach your goal of being in Vegas. So I look forward to meeting you there! Cheers
