Hi, my name is Tim :)

If we haven't met yet, feel free to drop me a comment below and say hi!

I joined WA because I was pulling at straws trying to create an income online. Turns out joining WA was one of the best decisions I could have made, and what I'd been searching for all along.

Something real- that actually works.

About me... I'm a super determined guy who believes you can achieve anything you set your mind to, as long as you work hard enough to get it! After going through the training and (most importantly) taking consistent action almost every single day, I've managed to create a full-time income with affiliate marketing.

I'm not a guru though, and I don't have some kind of 'secret' trick to success. I just worked my butt off and followed the training here. And I still do to this day.

My #1 tip for newbies trying to make money online: STOP thinking about making money online.

Really? Yes. Focus on the value you can GIVE to people. The more value you give, the more value you will receive in return. It is important to set your money goals and believe in them, absolutely! But successful online businesses are built based on the value you can give to people first and foremost.

Remember this- it will help you as you embark on this journey.

The training here within WA shows you the absolute best way to give people value with your website, and set yourself up for maximum success.

So follow the training. It works.

Anyways, feel free to reach out to me if you need help with anything, seriously just drop me a comment below. When I first started at WA I got all the help I needed to build my business, so I'm passionate about helping others succeed and achieve their goals too!

Cheers,

Tim McKinlay

Hi Tim,

Thank You so much for your heartwarming welcome. I am very excited to be here. I really like your comment about 'bringing value' to people. That thought process, is actually helping me focus with some clarity, on my niche, or at least bringing me closer to deciding on a niche.

So I wanted to reach out say Hello and say that, I so look forward to working along side you and WA. I'm feeling a WOW! here, that I haven't had in a long time.

Take Care.

Hi Tim,
My site is up and running now (yea!), and I have two questions that I hope you can help me with:

How do I link my Facebook and Twitter pages to my website and install the "like" and "share" buttons?
and
How do I optimize my site for printing?

Many thanks for your always helpful advice,
Richard

Hi Richard,

Awesome work, this is the first of many successes to come so nice work!

This training will help you out with your first question: Regarding your second question, I have no idea. I haven't had the need to do this or come across anyone who has so this is not something I'm sure about. If you want to print your content then personally I would just use the print function in the browser, or to get it exactly how you want it you could copy the content and paste it into a Google doc, where you can modify it exactly how you want it for printing.

Hope this helps!

I see that this process actually works. I've been with WA for a year in January and I've been so busy I have not been able to build out my site. But I was online looking for a review on Real Profits Online and your review was on the first page. I did not know that you were with WA and in my network. Here I have the perfect business and I'm looking for an opportunity elsewhere. Sometimes we don't know what we have. Your site and review are amazing and what you're making monthly is no joke. You've encouraged me to get busy with my WA business go through the training and make things happen and that's exactly what I 'm going to do.

That's great to hear Peter, glad you are motivated to get rolling with your business.

I know what that's like, it's easy to get 'shiny object syndrome', I think we all get this, especially in this industry with so many programs and ways to make money online. But the reality is you are in the right place if you want to build a real, longterm sustainable business. It takes time and effort but it is well worth it.

To this day I'm blown away not just by making money online but with the freedom it gives you. You definitely need to grind for a while without making much but once you get it rolling the income is very passive in nature so even 4 figures per month can change your life. Especially considering the low running costs.

Anyways thanks for reaching out and look forward to seeing you reach your goals going forward!

Hey Tim, I got the call yesterday. I go in for my spinal fusion on December 20th.at 8am. It's supposed to be an 8-10 hour surgery. Which usually turns into 12-14hours with me. I don't tend to make it easy on them. The last one was supposed to be 4-6 hours and wound up being 10 hours. So I'm getting 8 steel cages put into my lumbar spine and saccrum. Hopefully when they're done I'll be able to stand up more than 5 minutes and walk more than 10 feet without my legs giving out. After that they fix my neck and I should be good as new. I HOPE!!! Just didn't want everybody thinking I quit. Once I start something I don't quit until the job is done. I hate having to take time away from this and school right now but we all do what we have to. Right?

Hi Darcy,

Oh wow that sounds pretty serious but hopefully works out well for you :)

Not a problem at all, no one will think you quit. And you can come back and start working on your business whenever you are ready. That's one of the great things about this gig is that it is very flexible.

Anyways all the best with the surgery and talk to you soon.

Hi Tim. Tom here. Thanks for the email. For my niche, I was wondering about fitness, and in particular the Keto diet and perhaps weight lifting programs for men and women over forty or fifty and supplements. I suppose that could be three different niches. Your input and advice would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to the journey.
Reply

Hi Tom,

Yeah so these could be three niches, you are correct. I would personally choose one of these to roll with, and even consider narrowing further. For example," Keto diet for men/ women" or "body building for men over 40".

These are definitely viable ideas considering how much traffic there is within these, and tons of great products you can promote also.

Let me know if you have any other questions or want some help setting up your site :)

Very frustrated. I have been on the Llive Chat, I've reached out to Today's Top Helpers - no response. Live Chat did try - about 3 of them, but could not rectify the problem. Have spent over 1 1/2 hours. The H1, H2 etc headers aren't working out. the coding is off or something. Do you know who I can speak to? Or do I just have to delete all my work - Lesson 7, the entire About Us page, I have about 7 paragraphs...but can't get the headers to work without bolding in large size font the entire thing.
I have clicked on the Search button and read a couple of responses but my page does not have the icons they refer to .

I'm going to bed. it's nearly 4 am and wasted a whole evening. thanks Tim.

Hi Tim!
I'm finally ready for my first question (I'm sure that more will come as I push ahead...!).
The question is: Can I have multiple sites in a domain I purchase and register through WA ? It is possible that I may have gone through that in the training, and will take another look on my own, but you may have an answer faster (even if it's just a referral back to a lesson in the training plan)
Thanks Tim,
Hugo.-

Hi Hugo,

You can only have ONE site per domain you purchase. So the idea is to choose 1 niche and then create 1 site within 1 domain for this niche.

Yep, you can purchase your domains here within WA which I recommend because you get free privacy protection, there are no hidden fees ever and it makes it super easy to connect with your site since everything is in house.

Hope this helps and by all means reach out with any other questions you have :)

Hi Tim,
I just started reading your blog and see that I can click 'affiliate', pick up your link and post it elsewhere.
How does that help you?
What does that mean for me, too?!
You have a lot of good words I'd like to pass on to encourage others.
All the best,

Hi Dorothy,

So up the top of anyones blogs here at WA you will see that 'affiliate link' which you can copy and paste somewhere, like on your site or in an email or whatever.

What this means is that if someone clicks on that link you share, and joins WA (even though it was through a page I created), then YOU will get that referral. So if that person goes from a free Starter member to a Premium member then you will earn a commission! You will also continue to earn commissions for the entire life of that persons membership. It's pretty cool.

So that is essentially a unique way to share stuff you find valuable with people, and also promote WA as an affiliate.

If you want to learn more about promoting WA, then I recommend you follow this course: Hope this helps!

Hi Maureen,

I am sorry to hear about your health issue, hope all is ok.

I actually replied to your refund request yesterday when you sent me a private message. In any case I will reply again here incase you missed my reply.

So given the fact that I am a member just like you (I do not own or run Wealthy Affiliate) I cannot issue anyone a refund, it is literally impossible for me to do so. So you will need to request this refund to Carson or Kyle directly.

Here’s the exact process to contact Kyle or Carson via private message:

Step 1) Go to Kyle or Carson's WA profile page:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/kyle
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/carson

Step 2) Click on ‘Private Message’

Step 3) Click on ‘Other Inquiry’ and type any letter in the box that comes up.

Step 4) A box will appear under this which says “Didn't find what you were looking for?”. This is where you should type your question.

Step 5) Once you’ve typed your question, select ‘Contact Kyle/ Carson Privately’ and that’s it.

They normally respond within a day or two. I cannot promise you will get a refund since these are only issued on a case by case basis, but given your circumstances it is worth a try.

Let me know how you go and if you have any other questions.

Absolutely, if you can't upgrade within 7 days that is totally ok. Also, I don't recommend spending your last dollars to upgrade if you NEED to be making money right away, because it does take time to start seeing the profits roll in from this business. Premium is the best investment you could make with respects to building an online business, but this is a long term gig.

Anyways, looking forward to working with you so if you need anything in the meantime, just let me know :)

Tim. Could you please tell me how to empty my cart full of unwanted domains. I would like to purchase a new domain with .com , .org, .net. from sitedomain. It won't let me purchase without purchasing the 5 not wanted domains on my cart. I've stumpt the community. Nobody seems to know. There is no X to delete on the left of each domain , as some suggested. I'm at a stand still here. really could use your knowledge here.

Hi Ned,

I just checked this by adding some domains to my cart, and I was able to see a light gray 'x' to the far left of each domain that I clicked and which removed those. So not sure why you are having this issue.

My suggestion is to try the following:

1) Log out, clear your browser history (and cookies), log back in and try again.

2) Try a different browser (for example Google Chrome or Firefox)

3) If you are using a mobile device, use a laptop or desktop

4) If none of these help, then support will absolutely be able to help you out: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

Let me know how you go and if you need further help with this.

Thanks Tim. I never did get a light grey x. I finally found out by accident how to remove them . I kept pushing the cart button on and off, trying to beat "cart on" from loading hitting the first domain that appeared hoping to see the delete x. After several tries I accidently double hit one of the domain names and it disappeared. Repeated the same on the others getting my cart emptied finally. I went 3 days with nobody having the solution besides the light grey x. which it never appeared for me. While I got you noticing this . With my new domain how do I change te new with the old. what is the process and what happens with the old. I own it but its not a higher ranking suffix " .online ". Use it for a nameserver since i have pointed at WA?
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Ned,

Wow that is definitely odd but glad you got it sorted lol.

So first of all you do NOT want to change the nameservers wherever your old domain is located, as long as they are pointing to WA which I am assuming they are, just leave them.

All you need to do once your new domain is registered, is go to your existing site and click on 'move'.

Here are the exact steps to make that happen:

1) Click on 'websites' which is located in the left hand side menu

2) Click on 'SiteManager'

3) Locate your existing site from the list (this will be the OLD domain/ site)

4) Click on 'Move'

5) You will see the option to move your site "To An Existing Domain", click on this and select the new domain you purchased here at Wealthy Affiliate.

6) Click on "I'm Ready, Move My Site".

That's all you need to do. This will move your existing site to your new domain and all should be well.

Let me know how you go and if you have any other questions!

Cheers

im not sure when my first month of premium is up but I think its in the next week or so.... anyways what im wondering is does it auto renew on a certain day of the month or do I renew it?

also things are really tight for me every month being on a disability so I may not be able to pay it right on the date needed if that happens do I lose my work and site?
I was hoping to be much more ahead but I have been in and out of the hospital this month.... I really think I can do something here and im worried im going to lose what I have done?!
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Duane,

It automatically renews after 30 days are up from when you first joined/ when it last renewed. You can cancel this at any time within your account page under 'Subscription Settings':

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/home/my_profile

If you cancel your membership you will lose your site after 30 days, yeah. One main reason is because WA is providing you with a hosting service, which costs money to provide. The good news is that unlike almost all other web hosting companies, WA gives you a full 30 days after you cancel or do not pay, to move your site somewhere else if you want to.

It is not all that hard to move your site to different host for a while on some cheap hosting if you want to keep your site. You won't have all the benefit of being a Premium member but you can at least keep your site running for a few bucks per month (ish).

Let me know if you want help with any of this and I'll be more than happy to help you out.

I can understand your situation, but I can't pay your membership for you. Because if I did that for you I would have to do it for everyone who asked me. I am sorry but this is just not something I do.
Reply

That's fine Tim, I just had to ask before I gave up completely. You don't have to take the message down. In fact, I prefer it if you don't. This way everybody knows that when you say you'll do anything to "HELP" us get our business going. That is not at all what you mean. You mean as long as it does not cost you a dime. If I could've gotten to the member's area this would've been a private conversation. Since I couldn't this is just fine. You love to dangle that magic carrot in front of people. Then just when they're ready to believe in you and your company. You yank that dream away. Let me ask you something Tim. How many of those depressed souls just like mine do you suppose that you refused to help that got off their laptop, pc, or phone and killed themselves because you were their last hope?

Darcy, I spend a LOT of time helping people here within WA, when in reality I am not obligated to. I am a member of WA just like everyone else.

In any case, I respond to each and every question I get, and I help my referrals and others within the WA community build their businesses. So I feel good about what I do and I get a lot of thanks from the people I work with. Just because I am not paying for other's memberships (which at no time have I ever said I would do) doesn't mean I am not helping or that I don't care about people.

You have been given full access to a free Starter account, which includes 2 free sites and training. This is extremely good value for free if you ask me.

Your last comment is very unfair. I don't even know how to respond to that. This platform is NOT for people who need money quickly, because even as a Premium member- it takes time. If someone is that desperate they need money as a last hope, then a job is probably a better option. It took me 6 months of busting my butt to start earning regular commissions as an affiliate, even as a Premium member. So this is a longterm business, not a way to pay the bills next month.

I explain this in detail within this post: I am sorry about your situation Darcy, I really am. But I do not pay other members fees, it really is that simple.
Reply
skyysangel Premium
I didn't ask just to pay for my membership. I have every intention of paying you back and I told you that much. It's not like I want something for nothing. I don't work that way and you have no idea what it took for me to break down and come to you for help. I watched your whole webinar and all I heard was how much money you make. Now you're dropping the bomb that these people won't start seeing regular commissions for 6 months. I would have a job if anybody on the face of the planet was willing to give a job to a woman with a ticking time bomb in her head a job. Nobody wants to take the risk that I'll drop dead on their time and property. Can you blame them? I've been walking around with an inoperable brain aneurysm since 2003. I'm surprised every morning when I wake up. Not everybody in the world has to wake up and swallow almost 30 different kinds of medication just to be able to function. This is what happens when you get knocked around most of your life. You aren't the first one to blow smoke up my ass and try to make me believe all the lies are true. You already blew your own spot up there. How many times did you tell us during that webinar just how easy this system is. How you couldn't believe how the money came pouring in. Then you tell me here that you had to work your ass off for 6 months to make anything happen. You told us we wouldn't have to "WORK" period. So one way or the other you lied. So which is it? Oh and all of this program didn't download as it was supposed to so I'm so screwed up I don't know what 2 websites you're talking about or how to get to them. Then you wonder why somebody like me would be ready to give up? I wouldn't know why. Thank You for one more kick in the teeth I didn't need. If the goal was to inspire you failed miserably. All I got is disappointment, depression, and frustration. That question from before still stands. Haven't you ever stopped to think about how your actions affect others? Maybe you should think about it before one of them does it right in front of you to prove a point. Don't worry. It won't be me. I have 2 beautiful daughters 2 beautiful granddaughters and a handsome little grandson to live for. Someone who doesn't have what I do will show you one day just how wrong your thinking is.

I have NEVER done a webinar online at all, let alone for WA. I have never even made a video promoting WA. So it is clear you are mistaking me for someone else. Also, at no time have I ever said this was a 'system' or that it will be easy to make money.

You can learn how to start your website here:
Reply
skyysangel Premium
I called it a system not you because I didn't know what else to call it.. How do you think I got here if it wasn't by watching you on that webinar that gave me the information to get this far? And I'm sorry hon but you did say it was an easy way to make money.
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Feel free to share a link to ANY page or video anywhere online that I ever said it was quick and/ or easy to make money with Wealthy Affiliate. Seriously. You will not be able to, because I do NOT and have never said this. Period.

In fact, I make a special point of saying to folks who visit my website, that this takes hard work and effort, consistently, if you want results. And as I said earlier, I have never done a webinar at all so you (for a fact) are mistaking me for someone else here.

You probably ended up here at WA through my website, affiliateunguru.com which is how most people I refer find WA. It's possible you watched a webinar for another program, came to my site looking for a review, and then decided to check out WA which is what I recommend. This could explain the confusion here.

In any case, you can either stick around and learn how to build your business, and I will do my best to help you out, or choose to move on. Do whatever feels right for you.
Reply
skyysangel Premium
I think you're right. I don't know how it happened but I think I got sent here from somebody else's webinar. The farther I try getting into this the more it looks like the other system or whatever you want to call it. Other things look very different from your site. This makes things very confusing. For instance, do you know that if you lose your internet connection to one of these webinar links. When you come back and re-establish your connection with the same link. You will be sent to a completely different webinar than the one you were watching before you lost your connection in the first place. I went through that a little earlier tonight. I've four other programs like this tonight. I decided to see how many were on this one link that says it will take you here. I can give you the link for it if you want it. In fact it's the link you sent me earlier and has your name at the end. I watched 4 different webinars start and none of them were for your site. Now you know how I ended up confused. Now I'm confused about setting up my websites. I like Pure Breed Dogs. I searched them with Jazzy but don't get how I get what I found to the websites. I'm slowly working through this. I stumbled over my dashboard and found that by accident. lol Then again that's the way I learned to use a computer in the first place. Now I'm stuck. Time for some sleep until I hear back from you or can clear my brain enough to figure this out.
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Yeah that is understandable Darcy, and all good. The most important thing is that you are here now and you have the opportunity to start your online business if you want to.

You can definitely start a site about pure bred dogs, this is a viable niche idea. The best thing to do is slowly take your time to go through each lesson in the training and complete each task Kyle gives you to do, this is the surest way to get through this and avoid getting lost with everything. You will learn a lot by doing and making mistakes as we all do, so it's ok to have a go even if you're not sure about a given task.

Let me know if you have any other questions going forward, happy to help you get rolling :)

Hello Tim,
I am very new here and I am wondering if you can help me to decide if the niche that I am thinking about using as my own is a good and valid one. I am thinking about using women's perfume. What do you think about this as a niche for me. I am very passionate about women's perfume and know a good amount of info about it as a whole.

Thank You,

Hi Carl,

Women's perfume is a good starting point, but you will want to narrow it down a bit if possible, because this is quite broad. So is there a specific type of perfume/ occasion for using/ specific group of women interested in a particular perfume etc?

Narrowing down can help you become an authority a lot quicker and drastically reduce your competition is all. Feel free to ask me any followup questions here if you need, happy to help out :)

Hello,

I am very passionate about arts and entertainment, specifically movies and television. While I would love to write on these topics, I'm having troubles on figuring out which products I would be able to market around these topics. Any exercises or suggestions on how to pick a product? Thanks!

Hi James,

The most important thing above all is getting visitors, which it sounds like you are on top of since you are keen to write about these topics and you have knowledge you can share here. This is the most important part.

What you promote can be anything relevant. From a NetFlix or Amazon Prime subscription, to cameras, home theatre equipment- literally ANYTHING your audience would be interested in buying.

The training walks you through this process in a lot more detail as you progress so the actual process and help coming up with ideas is something you will learn as you progress.

You can also run ads if you're stuck for ideas. Which means you can make money without even promoting anything, just by placing a few ads on your site. This is I guess a 'backup' option and while it's not as profitable it can work well in some niches.

Hope this helps!

Hi Molagro,

I think it depends on your niche really. The first one I don't like if I am being completely honest, it sounds a little spammy. The second one is cool but it really depends on what your site is about as to whether or not this will be a good fit.

Let me know what your site is about here or via PM if you want to discuss this further.

Hello Tim, as I am anxious to start and have some hope of not working 2 jobs in the future I do have a few questions for you. I was not able to start as yet due to an untimely death in the family. When I signed up I thought the second month is free is this correct? The real concern I have is I am not great with computers is this something I will be able to do successfully? Thank you,

Hi Ellen,

Not a problem at all, happy to answer your questions and thanks for reaching out :)

I am so sorry to hear this. I know what it's like to lose a loved one so please accept my sincere condolences.

No the second month is not free. Your first month is discounted at only $19 but your second month and every month thereafter is $49. Or it works out to about roughly $29 per month if you pay yearly upfront.

Absolutely. I was in construction before this and had literally no idea what I was doing. All I had was a desire to be successful and of course WA. I bootstrapped my entire business to full-time income just with a Premium membership. I mean there were some other small costs like domain names etc but that was the main one. Which is crazy when you think about it in comparison to other business models.

In any case, what I will say to you is that as long as you put in the effort and stay the course, success is inevitable. There's no secret or special skillset you need, you just need to be someone who takes massive action and doesn't give up. That is all I did so I am more than confident you can do the same.

The good news is you are not alone in this. You have me in your corner and I always answer my referral's questions, so you can reach out to me at any time for help with your business. Not to mention you have the entire WA community backing you, and access to the founders Kyle and Carson who are great guys that will actually help you.

Anyways, hope this helps and by all means reach out if you have any other questions :)

Tim- are you tired of my questions yet?
1- Do you use convertkit, aweber or drip for your site www.affiliateunguru.com ?
2- You don’t seem to have a facebook page, curious why not. I do not like social media, so if I don’t have to I won’t go there.
3- When I get a domain name at WA/ siterubix, does it lock the domain for dot com? If it does not lock it, I won't be able to buy it when I want- correct? What do people do when that happens?

Thanks a lot!
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Zulqar,

Not at all, but given the sheer volume of your questions recently I will ask that going forward you direct these to me via private message. Just because it is starting to cloud out questions and comments from others at this point.

1) Aweber

2) I did have a while back but I posted a piece of content with an affiliate link on my page and that one thing got my page banned (lol). I don't really care since I don't use it much anyway, but it shows how ridiculous FB can be sometimes when it comes to affiliate links. I'll probably get one running again but to be honest it's not something I'm in a hurry to do at all.

3) No. This is an entirely separate URL and it has no correlation with any other domains. Yeah so someone could buy the .com at any time so if you really want it you should buy it. Or wait and if someone takes the .com then run with a .net or .org which is fine too.

Hi Jailson,

This is not Carsons profile page, to contact Carson, go to this page:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/carson

I have answered this question in detail several times now both here and within private message. But I will answer this question for you one last time to help clarify everything.

If you make 300 sales in the year, or 100 sales between September to December, then you will qualify to attend the Vegas conference. You will be able to see how many sales you have left by looking at the 'plane icon' at the top of your screen, it counts down and shows you how many sales you have left to make to qualify.

If you qualify, Kyle or Carson will be in touch with you via private message, to run over the details such as dates and flights.

Based on my experience from the conference in February of this year... Kyle contacted me to confirm I could make the trip and let me know the dates, then I went ahead and bought my plane ticket to Las Vegas. I let him know how much it cost and he reimbursed me right away, and informed me of the exact location of where I would be staying.

That's really all there is to it.

I don't know the exact dates and venue for the conference for 2019, we are only informed of this closer to the date.

If you need any more info on this, read this post: Hope this helps :)

Hope you are having a great day, I have a question,
I am on Level 2 lesson 3. its talk about key rich content I already did my post page I am selling jogger strollers baby items, I did my reach on my competitors they don't have a lot of words on their website, studies says that people don't want to read a lot they want to go to your website and see what they want and buy it.

What you think
Cynthia

TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Cynthia,

Thank you, I am having an awesome day, hope you are too :)

There's lots of keywords within that niche, meaning lots of content opportunities and traffic potential.

People absolutely do research BEFORE they buy and they spend a lot of time online learning about the topics that interest them.

And this is where your site comes in. You are aiming to help the people within your niche, with all kinds of relevant content. This could be 'how to' articles, guides, tips, reviews, comparisons, pretty much anything people are searching for.

The best advice I can give you is to follow the training. Even if something doesn't make sense, what you need to understand is that this is a proven process and Kyle knows his stuff. Put simply, it works. So if you want results then this is what I recommend.

You are not just selling products as an affiliate, you are helping the people within your niche and recommending products that interest them. It's a bit of a mindset shift but you will get there by following the training.

If I am going to be selling ed toys, shouldn't I use this plugin or something with similar usage?

Trying to not overthink but want to get it right.

Reply

Yeah so you really just want to use a simple theme. Trust me when I say the look of your site is of very little importance when it comes to making money with affiliate marketing. No frills is best when you are starting out because it leads to less issues and more focus on what matters most- your content.

To find new themes, this tutorial will help you out: Let me know how you go :)

This is great. Some selections have changed but video is on target.

You say a simple theme. Should I Ignore the need for e-commerce feature to sell stuff - cart, etc.? If so I will just pick something bright.
Reply

Awesome, glad it was helpful.

If you plan on selling your own products, then by all means get a theme that integrates with something like WooCommerce. But if you are just wanting to earn revenue with affiliate marketing, which is what the training primarily teaches you, then just run with something simple and clean. I always refer back to the Omega theme because it's perfect for what I mean, and it's also what Kyle uses on one of his sites. Totally up to you though, lots of great themes out there.

Ok - affiliate marketing is "mentioning" the product instead of show casing image of product like an online store front. (or spmething of that nature). Think I got it now.

Hi Cynthia,

If you published your about page within SiteContent, then you should be able to see it within your site by clicking on 'pages' within the left hand side menu, once you are logged into your site.

Setting up a profile photo for your site is something you will learn in the training, so my advice on this is to keep going step by step and you will learn this in due course.

It's a bit hard to answer this one without seeing your site to be honest. It might be best to send me a PM so I can check out your site and figure out what is happening for you.

This is probably because you haven't posted this an actual question to the community. To post a question to the community, scroll to the top of this screen and type a few random letters into the box, then scroll to the bottom where it says "Can't find what you are looking for? Ask a Question." and follow the prompts. You will always get answers this way, in a short period of time.

Hello Tim, I had a question I do take care of babies with medical issues, so I want to get into the baby industry I was think about stroller's (jogging, 3 in 1, car seat you can put into the stroller, and twin strollers etc... then I do see in my training he's talking about the baby industry, that's good, my question is can you put more than one affiliate on your website? Thanks for your reply:)
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Cynthia,

So the first thing you need to do is start thinking about the specific group of people you are trying to help with your site.

From what you've said, your niche could be "babies with medical conditions" (or to narrow it down, babies with a specific type of condition). Or it could be more product focussed, like a site about strollers or car seats, or specific types of baby products that relate to babies with medical conditions.

Any of these can work. But the point I am making is to focus on which group of people you are trying to help. Because this will give you direction about what types of content to fill your site with. The content you create is the most important part, because this is what leads to traffic.

When you have traffic, you can promote anything relevant. So to answer your question, you can promote multiple affiliate products on your site. As long as these products give your audience value and make you a profit, you're good to go.

And in this niche there are TONS of great products you can promote.

Hopefully this helps. All of this is covered in detail as you progress through the training anyways, so just keep moving forward and you will be well on your way to a successful site in this niche!

Let me know if you have any other questions and have a great day ahead :)

I see the trainers in affiliate world make most of their money though commission from domain and pug-in vendors who sell monthly subscriptions. They may also make some money though recommending consumer products, but consumer products do not generate repeat income every month.

You are the expert- so what do you suggest for my goal setting?
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Zul,

It really comes down to your niche and what the people within your niche are buying. Not to mention your overall strategy.

With that being said, subscription products/ services are awesome. Because instead of selling something once, and that's it, you get recurring commissions for the life of that customer. So I'm a big fan of this type of affiliate offer.

And there's lots of these offers out there within many niches. It's just a matter of doing your research within your given niche to find them. Either using Google or within an affiliate program you join.

My advice above all is to focus on building your audience. You NEED an audience (traffic), because this is the foundation of your business.

From there, you can think more seriously about what you want to promote. Personally, I like to start by thinking about what my audience will find the most useful. Try to put yourself in their shoes. Maybe it's one product they want, maybe it's a dozen. Maybe some are low ticket, and some are high ticket etc.

From there, try to think about what can create a 'win win' situation for both you and your audience. As in what offers out of those will give your audience what they want, but also make you a steady profit.

If you do things in this order, you will have a very profitable and sustainable business on your hands.

Hope this helps and reach out if you have any other questions going forward!

Hi Renee,

If you bought a new domain, there will be nothing on that domain until you either build a new site or transfer your existing site to that domain.

Sounds like you are wanting to transfer your existing site to your new domain, in which case you will want to follow these steps:

1) Click on 'websites' which is located in the left hand side menu

2) Click on 'SiteManager'

3) Locate your existing site from the list (this will be the OLD domain/ site)

4) Click on 'Move'

5) You will see the option to move your site "To An Existing Domain", click on this and select the new domain you purchased here at Wealthy Affiliate.

6) Click on "I'm Ready, Move My Site".

That's all you need to do. This will move your existing site to your new domain and all should be well.

Let me know how you go and if you have any other questions!

Hey Tim, I went premium! I have some qq's for you. I understand long term to build a website and the affiliate ecosystem, gaining an audience and following. I will do that, have picked about 3-4 niches. For short quick out the gate strategies if I pursued LeadPages.net etc to build squeeze pages and get traffic there from Ad's, would that be a wrong or good strategy? Hoping and aiming to get my feet wet and move a little more rapidly. I have some marketing money too to resource it, bite by bite approach. What's your thoughts?
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Rob,

Congrats on going Premium! To be honest I would focus on the core training here rather than going the 'funnel + paid traffic' approach. That can definitely work but it's outside the scope of the main WA training and it can end up costing you a fortune in traffic.

With that being said, there is a lot of great training on paid traffic and funnel creation here. I would just personally be more inclined to follow the course as is intended and then branch out into that stuff once you have the experience. This is really the best approach I think but it's up to you.

Hi Zul,

1) Relatively easy, it's just a matter of logging into your domain registrar (for example NameCheap) and 'pointing' the domain here. From there, you can use the domain with any site hosted here that you want. This training should help you out: 2) No.

3) No, you do not need multiple PayPal accounts. In fact, you don't even need PayPal depending on which affiliate programs you decide to work with. In any case, you will clearly be able to see who has paid you what, just like you would when anyone pays you.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for reaching out to me and for the advice. It was very nice to hear from someone that is supportive about getting into this linebof work. Also I agree with you completely about bringing value to your customers and I have been thinking all along that if I am going to do this affiliate marketing I would prefer to promote products that I know and believe in. My main business is a hunting lodge and I will never give it up. But through that business I have gained a very extensive knowledge about a liyt of outdoor related products and which ones are quality and which ones are not. Anyways thank you again. You have opened my eyes to a few things and set some new ideas in place.

Great stuff Darik, promoting products you believe in is the best way to go. Because you can feel confident you are running a legitimate business and giving people value, which will lead to a very successful business in time.

Sounds like a great niche idea, tons of traffic potential here and lots of great products you can promote as an affiliate. Let me know if you need anything going forward!

hi tim I wrote an article with many items that need specific images to go along with them. they are not common and I can only find them on medical sites. i took screen shots of them and put them in my post. of course when i went to publish it came back as unoriginal content. im sure its because of the images. how will it effect my post and blog if i post it anyways? can you give me advice on what to do?
Reply

Hi Sean,

I would just ignore that warning, because while your main goal is to create unique (original) content there will be times when you will have some duplicate content, like in your case. So I personally would disregard and publish.

Seansational Premium
thx tim im assuming the down side a lower ranking score by google and other search engines?
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Yeah so duplicate content won't rank in search, which is why I say your main goal is to create unique content. But you won't necessarily be 'penalised' for having some duplicate elements within some posts. This is very common, since many blogs (including mine) quote people/ websites for example (snippets of text copied directly from other sites in a quote style format). This is just one example but the point is you should be fine as long as you are not creating lots of duplicate content on your site, Google understands that this is necessary in some cases and actually good for the user experience.

I'm sorry I thought I could afford to do this but a few things have happened. My son was hit by a car today while walking and his girlfriend died from the impact and being a single mom it doesn't look like I can afford it at this time. We just lost everything we owned in a house fire and I was burned badly and don't have much use of my hands but I really do want to thank you for the opportunity. I'm sorry for having wasted your time and for any inconvenience i caused. Again thank you and for the info you gave in your blog, it was very helpful.

Hey Tim, I have an issue with my site:
- made site
- changed theme with one from wordpress
> theme requires organic widget
- create page with organic widget
> page itself is a widget
-> Can't add any menus to that page, it's just the page with the text innit and no way to add buttons to it, If I do add, they are added in the bottom left as a few rows of text.

I want to add the sidebar or at least the menu, that's all I want to do, but I am either unable to or I don't know how.

Can you help me ? And please tell me if you need to see what I am talking about, currently I cleaned the page of the errors.

Hi Vlad,

I strongly recommend changing themes. This is a theme specific issue and since there are literally 1,000's of themes to choose from you would have to research this issue specifically and to be honest it's more trouble than it's worth.

So I would definitely change your theme to something simple, clean and functional out of the box, something that does not require the installation of a plugin.

There are many awesome themes to choose from and you can learn how to change your theme here: Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions going forward.

If you want to create an affiliate disclosure, you will want to go to this page:

Hi Jeanie,

Thanks for reaching out! :)

What you will find is that helping the people within your niche leads to you earning revenue, it's almost a 'bi-product' of helping people. So if you focus on this above all (creating useful and relevant content, engaging with your audience etc) the results will flow naturally. So the two (helping and earning) go hand in hand.

Choosing a niche that interests you, just makes your job of helping people SO much easier and more enjoyable. Since you know about the topic, love learning about it and love sharing it with others. This really creates a win win experience for you and your audience.

Anyways, thanks for reaching out and talk soon!

Reply

Hi Travis,

Not sure what sort of site you have, but I do know that you can absolutely use what you learn here to get targeted, free traffic. This is one of the main benefits of Wealthy Affiliate, nowhere else online teaches you free traffic generation skills like you will find here.

You should be able to apply these strategies to ANY website, including the one you already have. However, I highly recommend building a website here. Because these sites are built off of WordPress, which is the best site builder (CMS) for getting traffic through search engines.

So in other words, if traffic is your goal then build your site here.

Hope this helps man, reach out if you need anything else!

TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Derwin,

You have never been a Premium member so not sure what you mean about putting it on hold, unless you mean you don't want to upgrade until you're making money?

In any case, if/ when you upgrade is totally up to you.

And to be honest, if you need to make money soon then I do not recommend you upgrade. Because this is not a job or a quick and easy way to make money- it's a business.

I make this very clear when I recommend people join WA- this is not a way to make money quickly. I can see you joined less than a week ago, so I absolutely would not be expecting to have made money by now.

How long it takes for your sites to generate a profit depends entirely on you and the effort you put in. The training is here, the process works, many people see great results- it comes down to the effort you put in. It really is that simple.

I can't tell you how quickly you will make money. Because again it depends on you. However I can say that personally, it took me 3 full months to make my very first 1 dollar commission from Amazon, and about 6 months to begin earning very small consistent commissions. And I worked my butt off. This is the REAL reality of online business so it should give you some insight.

I recommend you read this post from me too, as you may find it helpful when setting your expectations of income: Also, I found this post from Kyle helpful when I first started and you might too: Not trying to sound harsh or throw a damper on things for you. Not at all. But I do like to be upfront with people about what to expect. I would much rather you not upgrade to Premium at all than upgrade, expectation you will make money quickly.

If you put the effort in and you're willing to give yourself the time you need to succeed, the you will have a very prosperous future ahead with respects your business.

Anyways, I hope this helps and reach out if you have any other questions :)

Tim,
Why would someone buy through my affiliate link instead of buying from Walmart website of Amazon? Would they get cheaper price?

I mean they can learn from my product review then leave my site and start shopping around and buy. They won't comeback to buy through my affiliate link, correct?

Hi Zul,

Good question.

The short answer is- because most people would rather click on a link on your page that takes them directly to the exact page they want to visit within Amazon, rather than unnecessarily create more work for themselves by leaving your site and navigating to Amazon some other way.

As long as you follow the process, you will have traffic, people will click on your affiliate links, and a percentage of people will buy something. It's just a numbers game once you get the process dialed in.

Also, you will be getting traffic at ALL stages of the buying cycle. Which is important to understand because it outlines the opportunity you have to profit, and helps to show you why people would be clicking on your links in the first place.

So let's say you promote 'dog apparel' for example:

- You will have articles on your site about general stuff like 'how to measure your dog for a new coat'. The people who visit your site through these types of general content pages, are not necessarily looking to buy anything. However, since they are on your site, you have the opportunity to change that. Which means you are going to be sending buyers to Amazon (or to whatever you are promoting) who were not even thinking of visiting Amazon. And once they are 'tagged' with your affiliate link, they can navigate away from Amazon and come back within 24 hours, and if they buy, you still get the commission.

- You will also do product reviews. Which often convert better, because these people are further along in the buying cycle. They are literally ready to buy something. So people will land on your reviews, because they want this information. Information that the store itself can't provide (feedback, commentary, comparisons, insight from an expert in the niche). As a result of reading your review, a percentage will click on your affiliate link and a percentage of those will buy.

So it's a process and if you follow it correctly, it works.

Anyways, hope this helps and by all means reach out if you have any other questions!

Cheers

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/website-feedback

However, if you still want to use the other way you mentioned, I honestly don't know for sure why this is happening. I do know that WA does strip out html code from links automatically, so it is more than likely you are using the wrong link.

Hi Tim:

Thanks, I figured it out & got it to work. Have a strategy question:
I have a couple Keywords I can use for my site. See Below:

Keyword QSR Traf Avg
Exercises Tennis Elbow 106 886 5206
Exercises for Tennis Elbow 189 886 5206

Which makes more sense, the 1st one with a lower QSR, but poorer legibility, or the 2nd with the higher QSR but more legible?

Would I be better off with a lower QSR but lower volume?

Best Exercises for Tennis Elbow 54 25 144

My goal is to monetize Elbow Braces with this Post & Knee Braces with my next Post.

My other option is to go straight to Elbow Braces:

Keyword QSR Traf Avg
Best Tennis Elbow Brace 90 37 217
Best Braces For Tennis Elbow 48 14 80

I hate to give up the volume but is 189 QSR too high? Would
Exercises-Tennis Elbow work? I could make that work legibility wise, but would it cut down on the search results/traffic? I did some searches in Google using the different versions, but can't tell if there's any difference...

Thanks for your help.

Hi Steve,

Great questions, and I'm more than happy to help you out with this.

1) I ALWAYS go for a legible keyword. No matter what. So exclude "Exercises Tennis Elbow" unless you can use it within a headline that makes sense. Like "Exercises Tennis Elbow - 7 Ways You Can Beat This Once and For All".

2) Disregard 'Traf' and focus on 'Avg' and 'QSR' going forward.

3) I definitely recommend going for the lower QSR. A QSR of over 100 is very competitive for a new site like yours. I would absolutely be targeting much lower competition keywords to begin with. This way, you can compete with the 'big guys' much easier and establish authority with Google. Eventually, you will be able to tackle these higher competition keywords and rank a lot easier.

4) My favourite keyword is "Best Braces For Tennis Elbow". This is low competition and a good keyword. However, you could still target something like "Best Tennis Elbow Brace" but I would expand it if possible. See if people are searching for stuff like "Best Tennis Elbow Brace For ___ (fill in the blank)". There could be some gems in the mix so take your time to research different variations. The lower competition the better.

Hope this helps, and reach out if you have any other questions!

Cheers

P.S It's probably better to send me this stuff via PM going forward, because this is more a one on one coaching discussion is all.

Good morning,
After reading discussions about privacy policies, I went to review my site to make sure that I had all that I needed. LOL , I can not find the one that I first installed or the europe policy.
I went to pluggins and re-loaded the first policy we used. It said that the new Euro one was already activated. Well I can't find that one either.
I am sure that this is clear as mud!!!

Hi Heather,

There's a couple of ways you can go about getting this sorted. Let's try this way first and see how we go.

1) Go to SiteContent ( https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/content )

2) Click on 'templates' up the top right of that screen

3) Click on 'privacy policy'

4) Insert a heading and modify this document to reflect your website URL where appropriate.

5) Click on publish, then select your site and make sure you click on 'page'.

This should publish the correct privacy policy to your site. From there, I would delete any of the old privacy policies from within your site.

To do that:

1) Login to your site

2) Click on 'pages'

3) Look for any old privacy policy pages you have and delete them

You can also check your 'posts' too just to be sure

Once you've done this, all you need to do is add this new privacy policy to your menu, so people can find it. Let me know if you want some help with this.

Hope this helps, please let me know if you have any other questions or if you need more help getting this sorted.

I have been discouraged and very frustrated about this program. I am not technological, so I've been having a lot of trouble understanding things. I have to keep reading the lessons over and over. When I ask for help, I don't seem to get my questions answered correctly. Probably because I don't have the correct terminology. I still have not been able to complete my website, so I have given up.

Hi Ludmilla,

It's ok if you are not very technological, neither am I and neither are a lot of folks who are getting solid results here at WA.

The best advice I can give you is to follow the training and complete EACH task as you go. Each lesson has some tasks to complete so that way you don't get lost along the way, and you know exactly what you need to be doing to get results.

After writing this message, I'll re-send you a PM with a link to your day 15 bonus, which walks you through exactly how to get all the help you need, when you need it. You joined 3 months ago but since then I've updated it for the new interface of WA. So this will help you ask the right questions to the right people.

And I am here to help you too, so you can always reach out to me and I will be more than happy to help you out.

If you want to cancel, that's totally up to you. But I'm confident you can do this so I encourage you to work through this, and let me help you with your business.

Anyways, hoe this helps and I'll shoot you that PM now :)

I want to interest people in WA because I truly believe in the community, the training and value and the like.

i guess I'm looking for advice because I think you're the right guy.

Your thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Kyle,

My advice is to focus on ONE website, and give it your full focus and attention. Both of these sites are good and have the potential to bring you a significant income over time, but I have found focussing on one site at a time in the beginning is far more beneficial. Especially when you have work commitments which you probably do.

To be completely honest with you, 3 months is nothing in the grand scheme of things. It literally took me 3 FULL months just to make a dollar, and it wasn't until 6 months in that I was earning regular small commissions. But that persistence is what led me to where I am now- earning a full time income doing affiliate marketing.

So my advice is to think of this like you are planting a tree, as funny as that may sound. You learn what you want to grow (your niche site), you do the planting (actually building your site and getting the foundational elements in place), then you water and continue to water your tree (add value to your niche, through your site, with your content and with PPC and YouTube if you like). As a result, over time you start seeing the fruit (traffic and sales). Which will lead to you developing a thriving business, which gives you the freedom and flexibility to completely change your life. And like a tree, you will reap the rewards for many years to come.

You just need to be willing to put that initial hustle in, and count the 'small' wins. Because they are ALL building towards your reaching your goals and in creating passive income with your site. At times it will be hard, yes, but as long as you don't quit you WILL succeed. There is no other way. I am yet to see anyone who didn't quit, fail at this. So you can and will succeed. Your sites are looking good, you just need to continue learning, applying and pushing forward.

Anyways, hope this helps Kyle, and I am here to help you in any way I can. So by all means reach out going forward!

Cheers

Hi Heather,

You can use images from within SiteContent if you're creating your content through the SiteContent platform, or if you're creating content directly within your actual site, you can use free image sites like PixaBay to get images.

I can't give you legal advice on whether it's ok to use images you take from other sources (ie. screenshots of other sites or images of products etc). However, if you're chasing images of the products you want to promote, then I recommend reaching out to the vendor/ affiliate program you are working with to request using some of their images.

Hi Lavern,

Not sure why you'd need to view the page source? That's not really something you need to worry about but it depends on which training you'e referring to, let me know and I'll check it out.

You will probably want a device that allows you to 'right click'. There are times you will need this but I guess just do what you can do if all you have is a touch screen, or research your device using Google, to see how you can achieve this with a touch screen. That's what I'd do.

Hi David,

Awesome, glad you found WA, and that you are finding the platform worthwhile.

I'm sorry to hear this, and I think this is a story many people can relate to. Highly skilled professionals being laid off because that's 'just the way it is'. I think the concept of job security these days is non-existent.

In my opinion, building an online business is far better and creates more security than any job can provide. Because YOU are in full control of your future, not some 'other person' higher up in the food chain. You put the work in, you reap the rewards, and no one can ultimately take that away from you.

I won't sugar coat it though. It does take time and effort to reach 'full time' status as an affiliate. But you can do it. Even if you are a complete newbie as I was in October of 2015 when I first started here. And it's well worth every effort.

Anyways, I recommend you keep going through the training and by all means reach out if you have any questions, I'm here to help you in any way I can.

Looking forward to working with you if you do decide to stick around! :)

HI Tim
Now I have some questions. I chose theme from Vogue for my website. They have their own Web press and it keeps coming up when I am trying to make changes in my back office. Since I don't know what I am doing yet it is confusing trying to navigate and get back to my WA Dashboard. Any suggestions?
Also they have suggested plugins for their theme. The lesson said there is a list of plugins to look at. Where would I find them so I can see what they are recommending? Should I automatically go with Vogue's recommendations?
Thank you
Cindy
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Cindy,

If the theme you have chosen recommends that you install plugins to make it work, or work how you want, then choose a different theme. Especially if that theme is trying to get you to buy something.

I always recommend going with a simple, clean looking theme. Because the most important thing is what you put into your website, not how it looks. Especially at first.

And you don't need to install ANY other plugins other than the free ones Kyle shows you in the training.

Hope this helps!

Hey Tim,
So, I'm ready to move my siterubix to my new domain. I had already done some affiliating on my site. Will that specific code transfer or do I need to go to the affiliate website: update them with the new domain, and then change the affiliate links within the new domain site?
-Brett

Hi Brett,

You can just go ahead with the transfer, you do not need to change any of your affiliate links.

However, you may need to update the affiliate program with your new domain (URL) if they require this. You shouldn't need to do this, but feel free to send their support an email letting them know if you're concerned.

Hi Tim,

Just a heads-up: You invited me to ask you questions when needed and I have decided to take full advantage of your wisdom! I do, however, promise to research first so that I won't be a pest.

1. Do you think it best to build my site with a more personal, blog type platform? I ask because i have done tons of research on Jeep accessory sites and the ones I like are directed more at the parts than a person. I have been working on content, such as changing my headlights (win, win!), making a "How To" tutorial.

2. Also, I have a couple of names I have been throwing around. I would like your take on them.

MyjJeepLife.com
JeepGeneration.com
JeepHounds.com (a play on the Jeep Transformer...Hound)

Much thanks!

Hi Jessica,

Not a problem at all, more than happy to answer your questions :)

1) It does depend on the niche and you, as to how personal you want to make it. There is definitely value in 'humanizing' your brand though, this shows people you're real and will lead to more trust and engagement within your site. I prefer the content rich approach, where you are talking about all kinds of relevant topics, rather than just listing parts. This will lead to a much more authoritative site over time, and potentially a lot more traffic since you are offering unique value with your content. The more traffic you get the more money you can earn promoting stuff.

2) I do like these ideas but I would avoid using the word 'Jeep' within your URL as it's a registered trademark and not something you want to use. Maybe think of other words this audience would use or come up with something simple that will resonate with your audience.

Hope this helps! Cheers

Hi Richard,

Yeah you won't be able to post a blog here within WA unless it's unique content, this is just a rule WA has in place to keep the content as unique as possible.

As long as you are running a WordPress site, then you can easily transfer it over to WA, and continue to build and grow your sites from here.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Not at all, Richard. More than happy to answer any questions you have :)

In terms of ranking in Google (the important thing), pages and posts are exactly the same.

The only real difference is that your posts (or an excerpt/ snippet of them) are displayed in chronological order on a designated page (often your homepage) so that people can find your latest posts. Whereas pages are not automatically listed anywhere, so you have to link to them within your menu or somewhere else on your site (ie. within your content) if you want people to find them.

But again, they rank the same in Google so people will still be able to find your page through search engines. Obviously how well they rank depends on how well you follow the training though.

There are two other difference worth mentioning though...

1) Pages normally have comments disabled by default. You can enable comments for all your pages through a master setting, or on a page by page basis. Not a big deal either way.

2) Pages cannot be put into 'categories'. So with posts you can categorise content based on what it's about. For example, you might have 50 posts under 'weight loss tips' and 74 under 'supplement reviews' if you run a weight loss site. Whereas if you create a page you cannot group content in this way.

In any case, you would typically use a page for stuff like privacy policy, terms, contact etc. or anything you don't think people will want to read as they scroll through your latest posts.

Just stick with using posts for the majority of your content. The training walks you through ALL of this so nothing is left to chance. You will know exactly what you're doing and when to use a page or post as you progress through the training.

Hope this helps! Cheers

Hi Anusuya,

It seems you have actually signed up to WA through another member, so while I am happy to help you out, as I do any other member here within the WA community, I only offer 1-on-1 coaching and mentoring for my referrals.

I earn commissions when people join WA through me, so this is the only way I can viably help people on such a personal level, and still make a profit, without actually charging for my time.

I'm sure you can understand.

Seems like you have a great coach though, his name is Mike, so I recommend you visit your profile page and reply to one of his messages. I'm sure he will be more than happy to be working with you :)

Hi Arlanders,

Thanks for reaching out and I'm happy to help you out here.

So you learn how to complete your website, and generate revenue with your site, within the training. Not sure where you are up to exactly, but there are 5 levels of training all up. I'm thinking maybe you've completed the first level of training? In any case, you want to click on the 'Get Started Here' button to complete your training (see screenshot), which walks you through every step you need to take to build out your website and get into profit.

Also, your website/s are located here within this link:

So from there you can easily login to your site and work on it from there.

I am also here to help you as you progress through the training. So if you have any questions about what you are learning, or get stuck along the way, by all means reach out. I'm just a message away. Im stuck and need a little advice.., My Niche idea is about a focus on specific group. but Im not really selling a product. Im focusing on blue collar and white collar work labels and wanting to create an online site that caters to both by offering DIY videos and a few different products, that anyone of them may want to use?
does that make any sense to you?
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Chris,

A niche is really just a group of people anyway, so you are on the right track by thinking in terms of groups of people you want to help.

However, targeting 'blue and white collar' workers is quite broad and is not really a niche. You would want to get more specific than this. So what would your DIY videos be about?

So for example, ask yourself something like... " I want to help blue collar workers that __" and fill in the blank. Try to think of what specific problem you are solving for them with your site and you will be much closer to coming up with a good niche idea.

Feel free to swing some ideas past me via PM if you like too.

Hope this helps! Cheers

Hi: Yes, it had become a challenge to get a foothold online than you wonder where did the money and the time go. It had to be several years now! wow.

I would catch them in lie's and still tried to hang in there. Until the money ran out. Then they could just disappear and I couldn't find them again. My wife said she would never put any of her money
online again. She really doesn't really know what I'm doing. I told her I would let her know when the money hits the account. Well, that hasn't happened yet but I believe it will happen.

Hi Arthur,

Yeah it's challenging finding legit ways to earn money online. For sure. I think most of us can relate to what you're saying. I certainly can.

The thing with WA is that it's not a 'system'. It's a place to get a real education in affiliate marketing. So it takes time but if you stick with it you absolutely will see results. Because the training works and the potential within the online world is massive.

I think a lot of people are naturally skeptical, it's only once you're making money they start to take you seriously. Which was pretty much the case within my circle of family and friends too. Before that I'm pretty sure most of them thought I was 'playing' games or something lol. It's kind of frustrating but it's just the way it is. I think mostly because the majority of people don't do this sort of thing, they work the 9-5 like I once did (more like 6am-8pm though). So they struggle to comprehend how something like this could actually be real. But it is. You just need to be willing to work at it.

Anyways, thanks for reaching out Arthur, and looking forward to continuing to work with you!

Tim, have been working hard on my site and the training. Couple of questions:
>when writing content should I be filling in the section below that says keywords?
>is it beneficial to requests comments and feedback on my site?

I am a little apprehensive about writing a review on another product, I really don't have much knowledge on other programs in affiliate marketing. I guess I could write one on other keyword apps or website building apps.
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Brian,

1) No. This is called a 'meta keyword' and it's not something you want to be concerned with, as it has absolutely zero use these days. So do not use this.

2) Yes. The more feedback you get on your site the more you are going to be able to improve your site. Try not to take every point within every piece of feedback as gospel, as it's just people's opinion. But overall it can be very helpful. Comments can be a good tool to increase the value of your content and encourage more of an open conversation with your audience. So getting comments is a good thing :)

You don't have to write reviews. There are TONS of great keywords outside of reviews so just review stuff you feel comfortable with and work on creating other content alongside this.

Hope this helps!

Hello, my name is Monique, it is nice to meet you. So far everything is going good. I am at the part where I start to design my web page. I do like some of the premium designs, but I can not use them yet and I am having problems locating a web design that does not require me to upgrade to premium before I am able to do so. Is there a way that I can design my own web design. It is my first web page and I am really excited about it. I would like it to be completely mine by creating my own web page. I appreciate any help that you can offer me. I look forward to hearing from you.
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Monique,

Yeah so the websites here at WA are built with WordPress, which is based on 'themes' or template designs. WordPress is awesome for many reasons (the important ones like ranking in search engines) but to create your own site from scratch means learning how to code. Which I do not recommend as it's unnecessary for earning an income as an affiliate.

There is a LOT of flexibility in terms of what you can create with WordPress, it's just not 'drag and drop' simple to make major modifications to your theme. So the best thing to do is pick a theme you like and make minor changes which is easy.

I know you said you were struggling to find a theme you like, but my advice is really to not worry about your theme too much. With this business, the more important thing is to be getting the foundation of your business setup and focus on the actual content within your site with how the training shows you.

This is what will lead to rankings, traffic and sales. Then, in time, once you have these foundational elements in place and you're earning, then you can spend more time on the look of your site. Fine tuning it to get it how you want.

It's totally up to you what you do, but in terms of making a profit this is what I recommend. Choose a simple theme and focus on the more important elements like content.

Anyways, hope this helps Monique and by all means reach out if you have any other questions going forward. Cheers

I have been thinking about opportunities and I know I had mentioned personal development. My thoughts are focused on the power of positive thinking and how to achieve wealth. This is a competitive niche and wonder how you are doing with being a WA affiliate? I love to read books about positive thinking and desire, erasing the negative in your life whether it be people or experiences from your own past. Thoughts?
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Brian,

A competitive niche means people are making money. So while it does pay to target lower competition keywords within your content with a new site especially, you can still dominate high competition niches. It just takes time.

I do well promoting WA. Within arguably the most competitive niche of all. So if I can do this then there's absolutely no reason you can't either. As long as you are passionate about what you are doing and plan to put in the effort, you can and will succeed.

The process is the same regardless of the niche. You give people valuable content, which brings you visitors. You can then promote great products to your visitors, which earns you revenue. It's very simple when you break it down and it's a process anyone can follow.

Hope this helps! Cheers

Hi Tim, Sorry to bug you once again. Your explanations are usually more helpful to me, that is the reason I come here often.
My concern now is this;
I still don't quite understand how niches as explained at phase 1 lesson 2 relate to the promotion of Wealthy Affiliate. If for example iam interested in helping single mothers and women generally to achieve some financial freedom, aside writing on "how to make money online " what else should I be writing on that would be of help to them. Anything explanation/suggestions would be appreciated please.
Thanks a million for your time.
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Regina,

So my advice is two-fold.

First, know that pretty much everyone on the planet can benefit from WA. I mean, how many people do you know that can't benefit from earning, even just some extra money? Let alone the benefits of creating passive income. What you will find is that the vast majority of the 3-4 billion people online can benefit from WA in one way or another.

Second, try not to think of your content as 'promo material'. It must be relevant, but it certainly doesn't need to have a promotional element within in. Quite the opposite in fact. You do not want to just try to be selling people stuff. You want to actually give them useful content, so even if they don't buy something through you, they've had a beneficial interaction with your site.

Here's some examples...

Say your site is about 'side hustles for single Moms' or something. There are literally 1,000's of awesome keyword ideas for this niche alone. There's the obvious topics like 'how to make more money as a single Mom' but you can go MUCH more granular than this.

For example: 'ways to earn extra money while on maternity leave/ breast feeding/ caring for children etc. Or 'ways to earn extra money as a __ (insert job role- there are hundreds of good ideas here). Now this may not be specifically aimed at single moms but it is relevant, and you can personalise your content for this unique audience.

You can also step away entirely from 'making money' related posts. Stuff like "grants for single moms going to college" is an excellent keyword. If you rank for this you could rank for dozens of related keywords (overall there's a lot of traffic potential within that one article alone). Or something like "homeschooling as a single mom" can work too. You can literally write about ANYTHING relevant that your audience will find useful.

These last ideas may not be about making money, but they are highly relevant to your niche. And when you have targeted traffic on your site, you can promote WA in a highly relevant manner, which will lead to conversions (sales).

Hopefully this has given you some insight into things so you can begin looking at the different topics you can write about. Also, I found this video training super helpful for coming up with a massive list of keywords: Hope this helps! Cheers

Hi Tim - I found Wealthy Affiliate today because of your blog post - I was checking out AWOL - which is another training site for affiliates - but they are charging $17,997 for an elite program and there are other high ticket training packages too. I just paid $99 for their AWOL Pro Academy and $49 to get into their FB community which is NOTHING like this community.

I came across a post of yours about WA - and I tried to sign up and it told me I was already a member. I clicked the "Forgot my Password" link and got a link to get in. Hey Rich,

Absolutely, I'm more than happy to help you get started :) We were all newbies at one point, so that's no problem at all. The best place to start is here: Go through these lessons step-by-step and reach out to me along the way if you have any questions. Looking forward to working with you! Cheers

Hi Tim, hope business is doing okay. I need your assistance on an issue.
At the time that I bought a domain name for my siterubix website I had to buy a different name from that in the Siterubix website because it was not available. I have since moved my site to my domain about a month ago. Though I have effected the changes in the name on my domain website and the url has the new name in it, but the problem is that on the theme it is the old name that is there.
My question is, how do I change this old name to the new One?
I really would appreciate your help here.
Best wishes.

Hey Regina,

Sounds like you are saying you want to change your website title? If so, here's the steps...

1) Log into your site

2) Click on 'appearance' in the left hand menu and under that, click on 'customize'

3) Click on 'site identity' and change the title

That's it! If you have any other questions or still need help just let me know :) Cheers

Hi Tim. I'm still waiting to hear back from Kyle regarding signing up for premium through your affiliate link. I'm curious - does Kyle REALLY help folks as they go through the training? His silence (and all his canned bot messages) have me worried about what you talk about in your email autoresponder about "guru's" doing good at getting you to sign up for their program and leaving you high and dry. I've got 1 day before the $19 discount ends and I really am hoping I can use your affiliate link to sign up. I think it would be great to get your extra support. But....no response from Kyle. Thoughts?

Hey Ryan,

It seems you joined through WA directly so it's probably too late to change it now. There's nothing really I can do about that unfortunately. I do reserve most of my time for my referrals, but I still do help others in the WA community so by all means reach out to me if you want some guidance :)

Kyle should (and normally always does) reply. He's the real deal and absolutely will help you, same goes for Carson. I know this even more now because I literally just got back from the WA Vegas conference and met Kyle and Carson in person. I can say without a doubt they are among the most ethical and sincere people I know. I am SO proud to be part of WA now more than ever. They do get a lot of messages though as you can imagine, so sometimes it can take time to get a reply. But normally they reply within 2-3 days. So by all means reach out to Kyle and Carson directly via PM and they will help you.

Hope this helps and welcome to WA :)

Hi Tim,
I would be very grateful for your help on this issue. I was trying to publish a privacy policy on a website I just built but got the warning below.what should I do?
Secondly, should I want to delete a post on my website, how do I go about it?
Grateful for your quick response and thanks for your time.

Hi Regina,

The system is just telling you the content you're trying to publish is not unique. The reason it's not unique is because you have copied and pasted the privacy policy from the training, which is exactly what you want to do. It's ok for your privacy policy to be a copy, it is not meant to rank in Google at all so disregard that warning.

To delete a post you just log into your website and click on 'posts'. Then, just hover over the title of the post you want to delete and the option to 'trash' comes up.

Hope this helps :)

Hi Tim, I haven't " seen you on the inside " or heard from you since I joined about eleven days ago....lols. You promised me personal mentoring and support, remember? Now I really need your help here.
In the beginning I did the OEC training up to level 2 lesson 2 and during that training i built a website and bought a domain. Upon Kyle's advice I paused with that training and moved over to bootcamp training ( i intend to complete that training later).
Now I am required to build a website at the bootcamp training.
My question is since I had earlier bought a domain, in building this new site , on which of the 3 options on the screen shot below do I commence my building?
I need your answer urgently to enable me to go on as I donot want to do anything to mess things up for myself.
Many blessings.

Hi Regina,

I can understand your frustration. But the reason you haven't heard from me, is because you didn't actually join WA through me.

I just checked out your profile page and I can see you joined directly through WA itself. This is why you never received a welcome message from me, which all of my referrals get when they join through my affiliate link.

This can happen for a number of reasons, but the most common is if you didn't join WA directly after clicking on my affiliate link. Or you don't have 'cookies' enabled in your browser. But there can be other reasons too so I am only speculating here.

In any case, this is why you haven't heard from me. But all the same I am happy to help you with your question here :)

Ok so each new website you build, you get the option to use a free ( .siterubix.com ) domain name OR your own 'top level' domain name ( example.com ). So you can choose to use either a free or paid domain. If you use a free domain, good and well. You can still get rankings and traffic this way. However, it is always best to use your own top level domain if you can. So I recommend getting yourself a new domain for 14 bucks (per year) as you will get better rankings in my experience.

You don't have to buy your domain name here either, but it does work out very cost effective and it does make your life easier when you do so. Because your WA purchased domain name integrates perfectly with your WA website.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any followup questions. Cheers

I felt frustrated as well, I am a premium member, homeschool and work. I need to get the most out of this “three Days a week” I have a time slot for, I obviously signed up directly also :( Thanks for asking that question.

Hi Heather,

Even though you signed up directly I will still help you. If you scroll down a ways you will see Regina has asked me a number of questions (and even sent me PM's) that I reply to. So I'm not just about helping my referrals. Even though that is where I do spend the most of my time, I still do my best to contribute to the community here as best I can.

So let me know if there's anything I can do to help you going forward :) Cheers

Hi Tim! I found you through another new member that discovered WA through a website of yours. After I read your bio and saw you wear Rip Curl and Rusty (I grew up surfing in San Diego - back then two of my favs were OP and Gotcha) I had to follow you!

I've been enjoying my beginnings here at WA and am working on building up my first ever webpage. The instruction and supportive members are both phenomenal here and I'm really enjoying the whole experience as I continue to move forward.

I plan to read your Posts and gain some more knowledge. Wanted to thank you for the encouragement you included for newbies in your Bio! Stellar notes. I'll see you around the WA community Tim, nice to make your acquaintance!

Hey Tim. I need help. Right now I'm on level 2. As I'm going through the process, I decided to make some editing on my site content. I stumbled on an issue that won't allow me to make any edits. I can't even view my revisions. It says "revisions not found". I don't know why and I tried for almost an hour trying to figure it out. Do you know what's the issue?

hey Tim i had a question. this is only an example but what if i based my website on brewing beer niche how am i gonna make money blogging about that? i know theres more training that probably covers that but am only on the starter package right now but its breaking my head trying to figure out how all that works.
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hey Manuel,

Absolutely, you can create a site about brewing beer. The training does show you this in more detail but I'm happy to give you an overview on how it all works.

The first thing you need to do is break the niche down into it's main segments by researching, and decide on what your site is going to be about. So your site could be about "home brew beer" which is broad but can still work. Or you could narrow it down to "organic home brew beer" or "home brew beer kit reviews" for example. I wouldn't go too crazy with this, just pick something that makes sense and that you are interested in writing about. Trying to find the 'perfect niche' is a mistake, it's a lot more important to just get rolling as a newbie. You are going to learn a lot by doing this.

Next, you setup your website which is really easy with WA. The training shows you how to do this as a free member too.

Then you learn all about keyword research. This is how you know what your audience is searching for in Google, and what your content will be about. A keyword is just a search term someone types into Google and you create your content to target those keywords. This is how you get high quality, free traffic (visitors) from search engines like Google and Bing.

Then you promote stuff on your website. There are tons of great affiliate programs within this niche. I recommend you Google "home brew beer affiliate program" and see what you can find as a start. Even Amazon sells this stuff so that's a good option too. You could promote home brew kits, DIY courses, recipes and pretty much anything relevant. The cool thing with this is people will repeat buy the recipe kits too, so there's some real evergreen income potential there. In any case, there's plenty of relevant products within this niche and plenty of potential for profit when you get into the swing of it.

So that's the general outline without writing a novel. To get the step-by-step process and make this happen, you'll need to follow the training within WA. You don't have to go Premium but it's well worth it if you can. You are going to learn a lot and set yourself up for success in doing so.

Hope this helps and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions :) Cheers

Hi Tim,

Thank you so much for all the support. I have some questions before building my website. I would like to go premium so that I can get more help. But maybe a year from now, I want to stop being premium is that possible?

And can I add a button in my site, so it can transulate to portuguese?

Before I start the product and niche, I have some ideias, can you please tell me if I am making the write choice:

- How to get a flat stomach, and here I could recomend dieting and a specific workout.

- products to rejuvenate and the ideal make up for a quick natural look.

- Self help getting over Depression

I would also like to know, where I could get content, banners, pictures etc when I choose a product.

Thank you

Hi Denise,

You are very welcome, I'm happy to help you out :)

You can stop being Premium whenever you like, and transfer your sites to another host no probs. Cancelling your account is a super easy process and one I can help you with if you need me to.

Not really sure about translating a site in another language. Unless your site is targeting a specific country, I'd be writing in English and letting the web browser (example Google Chrome) translate your site for you automatically. Although there are plugins you can use to help translate I am pretty sure. I can certainly help you with this if need be.

All of these niche ideas can work, tons of potential here. I personally recommend choosing one niche to start with though, until you get into the swing of things. Then move into other niches. But it's up to you. In any case, out of those three ideas I would be choosing the topic you are most interested in helping others with. Your main role as an affiliate is going to be helping your audience, so pick the niche you are most passionate about/ interested in. I can also help you refine the niche once you decide on one of those, so you have a clear path forward to making your site profitable.

You will get banners etc from the affiliate program you choose to work with. The training shows you how to signup to relevant affiliate programs and get all of that stuff from there. You will be writing the content on your site though, unless you plan on outsourcing it to someone. Which I don't recommend this early on. The training shows you how to create awesome content, which leads to rankings and traffic in search engines like Google and Bing.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions going forward :) Cheers

Really enjoyed reading your profile and a number of reviews on your web site. You have done an unbelievable amount of leg work to help the rest of us understanding what really lies behind many of the "make money online easily" ads.

You really do create value and I expect to see your name among those going to Las Vegas Super Affiliate Conference in 2018.

I have been here two years and it has been personally very rewarding to create a family history web site that individual relatives appreciate. Now I want to see if I can follow in your footsteps and develop a website to help seniors and babyboomers understand what is behind bitcoin and the blockchain.

I will be reading your Posts.

Hey Roger, I appreciate your kind words and support! Turns out I am going to Vegas so you were spot on there ;)

Love your idea for a site, the cypto space is full of opportunity. I've been considering going into that space myself actually, but I'm pretty busy with my other sites so I haven't done proper research on it yet. So many avenues to explore and absolutely something you can be successful with. I'd certainly read your blog so send me a PM when it's running :)

Thanks for reaching out Roger, and I wish you the best of success in 2018! Cheers

Yea - I couldn't believe that prediction came true. Your website was so engaging and you had done so much work - if you didn't make it, it would be literally an impossibility for me. Was it a written goal you had made before or just a result of your efforts and persistence?
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Not sure that I wrote that goal down (probably should have lol) but I just knew this was something I wanted to achieve and worked hard to make it happen.

I think you'd be surprised at how simple it really is to make Vegas to be honest. It seems so far off in the beginning, it did for me too, but it's actually very achievable for anyone. Once you get the process right it's really just scaling things up.

I think more than anything it's just a matter of giving yourself the time you need to succeed. So persistence is a huge part of it.

For me the biggest battle was finding something legit to begin with. So once I found WA it was full steam ahead. The 'work' part was easy for me when I knew I had something real.

I agree with you Roger! Although I am a fresh newbie, got here to this site through Tim... I was researching an online wesite building learn academy and read Tims review on that company, then followed his link to here!
I too have learned so much just by reading the questions ppl are asking him and applying it to my own situation, plans for a website and how that could generate money.
Keep being Extraordinary Tim!

First of all, i want to thank you for everything you are doing for me. If you go to the website: https://www.budgetebooks.com

If you see where Menus are you will the contact page menu, and if you open it you will see a banner to.

I put both of them in the bottom widget and they ended up there at the top. Site support said there be something wrong with the theme.
Have you ever seen that before?
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hey Veril, you're welcome, I'm always happy to help out :)

Sounds like you are talking about the banner at the bottom of your contact page? If so, that is a theme related issue. Because your theme dictates where the widgets will be placed. Short of messing with the code on your site (which I don't recommend) it may be worth choosing a different theme or leaving that banner out. There are tons of awesome themes to choose from though so no big loss either way.

Let me know how you go! Cheers

Hi @VerilGillett! I'm Rita! Just signed up myself. Taking the plunge after realizing I needed to be free from the constraints of a job that did not align with my ethics and found myself in a boot camp for coding software/web development as an early option. So reading about your problem with the banner I thought, yes as Tim pointed out the only way to make it do what you want is to code the widget to come at the place in your page where you want it. The theme templates are nice because it's been done for us noobs in a nice package without having to have coding background. This being said, if your really like ur current theme and that is the one thing you'd like to change, it shouldn't be a big coding problem, quite simple really but for sake of keeping it simple as Tim recommends you could just keep it thay way. If you really want this change but wish to keep your current theme, you may try asking your local coding school if they have a student who wants to help you tweak it in exchange for an endorsement for the student coder's future portfolio that may get you the help you need with no cost to you. From what I see it's a pretty simple modification that could be fixed by one of those in their field of interest.

I myself will no doubt be tinkering with mine a bit when I get there...lol!

Hope that helps!
