Hi,
As I understand it there are two options:

1. moving the hosting of the domain to WA
or
2. moving the registration and hosting of your domain to WA

Before you could only move the hosting of the domain to WA , but WA has recently become a domain registrar. You can now register the domain with WA. The registration will involve a fee.

My domain is registered with another registrar and hosted at WA. My domain was not moved just the hosting. Here is some information on transferring hosting. If your site is already hosted here you should be able to move it using the move button To move the domain by registering and host it here - read Carson's posted : Pat

Hi, I see you have been given advice on the matter. Irv.

I have moved the site to the new domain but now I have two websites I am so confused I basically had a .co.uk domain and wanted the same name but .com

I moved the site thefastestwaytoonlinesuccess.co.uk to thefastestwaytoonlinesuccess.com everything has moved over fine but I now have two sites

will google see that as two sites the same and think its a duplicate or copyright and unrank me ? please help irv

Do I now delete the other site

Thank you

I was worried I would lose my content ect Ill head over and do it now. Its the same domain name but I am going from .co.uk to .com

Thanks for the help

If you go to SiteRubix and go on site manager, you will see by your by your website that there is a move button. You click that and you can move your old domain to your new domain. All your content and comments will transfer with it.

Kyle suggests not to delete the site for about a month. If you have traffic to the old site it will be redirected to your new site.

I have reated my webmail account as per instructions. On logging in i keep getting the message server error, does anyone have the same problem thanks

It has been ssolved.

Problem solved thanks

Out of interest what was the problem? how did you solve it .....as i am not at that stage yet....also what is Coll short for :-))

It was a server error

:-)

I was having similar problems, so I wanted to access my email via my Gmail account. Check out MarionBlack's answer to my question at: Her solution worked for me. It even worked when I tried her settings in my Gmail account.

I have just tried that still nothing. It just says server error on the WA webmail login then when i try to log in externally via gmail or outlook I get incorrect username or password.

That's the same frustration I was having! I recommend that you comment on MarionBlack's post at and see if she can help you.

Any suggestions let me know!

OK Coll, I’ve had a good look at your site and this is what’s occurred to me about it.

Your site is in its earliest phase of development, so my comments will either be very general based on the little you have now, or they will be suggestions about what you might consider adding as it develops. I always tread carefully when a site is at this early phase of development because it’s important not to stifle the site creator’s ideas. There’s nothing worse than a honking know-it-all like me telling you what you should be doing, when the odds are you know better yourself.

Overall site appearance:

The layout of your site is the clear and uncluttered WordPress style that’s hard to go wrong with or mess up. You’ve chosen a nice, clean, simple theme that I think works well because it’s quite contrasty. It focuses attention on the main content of your page, while making the options stand out well at the same time.

Content:

At present the content you have is “Meet the Furry Felines”, the “About Me” page, and a “Welcome to Furry Feline Friends” post.

“Meet the Furry Felines”:

This is a nice roundup of the cats in your life (past and present) with a little description and history of each. Anyone finding their way to your site deliberately will like this. Visitors might also like to see a gallery of pictures for each cat. Galleries are relatively easy to make in WordPress (my site is mostly galleries). The pictures you have are good (better than I’m used to seeing generally in fact). They would benefit from being a bit bigger on the page. There’s no reason each couldn’t cover the entire column width. You (or anyone else who took them) have the knack of taking good quality images, so there’s no reason they need to be very small unless you have a personal preference for them to be that way.

“About Me”:

This is a good general introduction to who you are and what you do. It gives visitors a snapshot of you as a person. You mention introducing a comments box for visitors to leave questions. That’s actually a nice way of engaging with people and building a following. You might even consider setting that up as a separate item on the banner menu across the top of the page (you could call it “Ask Coll” or something like that). If you wanted to, you could expand on “About Me” by including more details of your work with BFA (who they are and what they do).

“Welcome to Furry Feline Friends” post:

I see you’ve already started building engagement here with some nice comments, and a link to instagram. Do you have a YouTube channel or a presence on Google +? You could upload videos of the cats there for more engagement.

That covers the existing content.

General suggestions:

The home page is blank at present. That would be a good place for a sort of “mission statement” describing what your site is for, and who in general it’s aimed at. In fact, a lot of what you’ve written in your first post under “Welcome to Furry Feline Friends” would be perfect content for the home page. It gives a great overview of your aims and purpose.

The tag line “Everything you need to know about cats” makes your basic intent for the site very clear. On that basis, what I’ve done is think back to when I was getting my first cat as an adult, and consider what it is I felt I needed to know (and what I found out I didn’t know).

1) You could have an item on the banner menu called “Information” (I suppose “Info” might do). You could then have some sub-categories coming off that for different types of information in areas such as:

“Info for new owners”, which could include:

“What you need to know and do before getting a cat.”
“What to expect and not to expect from a cat.”
“Mythology (falsehoods) about cats.”

As an experienced cat owner, you will have a better idea of what needs to go here.

2) Other sub-categories under “Information” could be “Feeding”, “Recreation”, “Cat behaviour” (things like cat hierarchy in multi-cat households), “Behavioural problems” (urinating or scratching furniture), “How to introduce a new cat to an existing cat or cats”. You will likely have many more ideas in this area than I have. I just put my ideas down as they are common things that a lot of cat owners benefit from knowing about.

3) As a way or building engagement you might have a gallery where regular visitors, or people who have registered with you can send in pictures of their cats for inclusion in it.

4) You could feature a journal/blog page about your work with BFA (you might even be able to promote its work to a wider audience). I’m sure a lot of the people interested in your site would like to know more about it.

5) You already have a “Reviews” item on your banner menu, so I’m guessing at some point you intend to start writing about products or services related to cats. That’s a sensible thing to do because your experience in having so many cats, and working with BFA, is something people can come to trust and value. It can also lead on to the next suggestion:

6) Affiliate marketing:

Once you build a following and start getting some good traffic to your site, it gives you a platform from which to start affiliate marketing of cat-related products and services. The great thing here is you aren’t looking for a niche and then having to learn about it in order to do affiliate marketing. You already know your niche very well, so it gives you a much firmer foundation on which to build affiliate marketing if you want it. Very likely your cats will then demand a share of the profits (or all of the profits), but that’s what cats do. If we aren’t used to it by now we never will be.

Conclusions:

I think you’ve got a lot of scope to build something really good here because you have so much experience in your niche already, and you love it. That’s such a great advantage to have at the beginning. Experience and knowledge are things that create trust. Once you start building engagement many more ideas will occur to you about how to expand and develop the site. I think it has a lot of potential, and you are motivated and knowledgeable enough to succeed with it. I will certainly be following your progress.

Thank you so much, I really didn't expect something so in-depth. I will take on everything you have suggested.

:) :)

You're welcome Coll. I see from another comment you think there's too much white space with the template you're using. You might find that becomes less apparent if you add more content to the page. I don't think the template itself is necessarily the problem (if there is one). To some degree this is also subjective, so it will depend on what your preference is. If you feel another template would be better, it's easy enough to apply one.

you could do reviews on cat foods,,, pros and cons of declawing,,, pros and cons of spay and neutering,,, just a few ideas for ya,,, looking good so far though

Thank you so much. great ideas too. :)

You're very welcome, would love to see what you come up with, we have one furry baby, she is 6 months old
