I cannot follow the training for adding a widget. I am using the Affiliates Bloglet theme. But the display for widgets does not come even close to the display in the training v

To add a sidebar category, make sure the page/post is created with the sidebar.

I created a test page with a sidebar to illustrate how to add widget. The customized area will recognize widget locations when there is available space. There is now a 'sidebar' space allotted for the widget.

Hi Thomas, I use a theme called "writee" includes social media icons. Other than that, Abie has you covered here.

Appearance > Widgets click the plus icon to add a widget and the three dots to remove one.

Withe the theme you have it says it has "Footer Widgets"

You may have to change your theme if you cannot see Appearance > Widgeta.

To change your theme, here is what to do.

You may go to Appearance > Themes and add new.

Input what you are looking for, install and activate.

Your content will be left intact; you may lose out on CSS styles and social media icons if, however, with a bit of tweaking, you are done.

We always recommend leaving a backup theme; you may do with the Twenty TwentyThree.

Can anyone help me with this?
