I have the first code for google ad sense, but I'm having problems putting it on my website. Can anyone help with this?

Where do I find the plug in for Google AdSense?

go to your Wordpress dashboard. go down to plugins and then click on ad new. search for google adsense there.

Debra. I did exactly that but I can't find the adsense plug in???????????????

If you can't find it, you can download it here
https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/adsense-plugin/ save to your computer then go to plugins in your WP and upload it.

There are actually several that come up. be sure you click on "Add New" and then type "adsense" in the search bar and hit enter. Otherwise it only searches the ones you have downloaded already.

Every time I put the ad in the text widget this it what I get . I'm not sure how to tell if its working or not. http://entertainingtots.com/

What size ad did you use? Sometimes if ads are too wide, it wont show.

300 x 250 Medium Rectangle.Could my theme have something to do with adsense not wanting to work

Size should be fine. You could try adding it to primary sidebar or footer area just to see if it works. If it still doesn't work, you may need to add a plugin?

I figured it out it was the theme I had

Hi Tara,
watch this video demonstrating how to add Google Adsense into your website.

If you just want to post it into your side bar ad a text widget to the sidebar and past the code. If you want to ad it to your header or in post id suggest watching a video as it will require you to add the code to your pages editor

Or you can just download the adsence widget

Hey,

I would use https://www.google.com/tagmanager/
https://www.google.com/tagmanager/features.html

Then you do not have to edit your pages anymore.

Just enter your ID and BOOM activation for AdSense and analytics and search console all at 1...

If you have extra questions, don't hesitate...

Grtz,
Bert

Wow that sounds interesting, I will have to check that one out!

I also first added the code, but now using this... ;-)

No that's why you use the tag manager to avoid editing every page...

Do I need to add the code to all my current pages ? Is this something i will have to do on every post?

I'm not understanding what you are getting at. where do I put the code to avoid having to put it on every post

No, you can paste your code into Text Widgets or directly onto your pages.

Get your AdSense code and switch your WordPress Editor to "Text" mode and then go to where you want the ads to appear and paste the code into there.

No need for a plugin if you don't want to use one.

Great answer. I just use a widget, the more plugins you use the slower your site loads?
