Hey Guys, I'm getting to the point I've got my website started and a few quality post's and I'm preparing to introduce some of the affiliate marketing and start tracking how mu

When I first started a blog I wrote an article every day of the week for a month. Each article was shared on social networks. This helped with indexing and giving the site some "weight".

The posts averaged 500 words.

Today the site has over 1200 blog posts. Just recently started adding posts that are 1000+ words. It's early, but I have seen that longer posts get more shares and comments than the shorter ones.

So I believe there are pros to both.

That's what it sounds like, still looking into both approaches and possibly a more balanced 2-3 longer post's a week while growing my social media platform.

I personally aim at writing 3 posts a week the best way I can. It gives me 12 posts per month. I would agree that it can take around 5-6 months. I have noticed that, those who are making it full time now, started to make it around 18 months.

Thanks for sharing, great site from your bio as well!

Nick, if your planning on putting that much content up - please make sure that you have a solid social media presence - see tip #3 https://www.thelazyplumber.com/common-mistakes-newbies-make-with-wealthy-affiliate/ - that way you will help make your site more powerful in Googles eyes while also delivering good content.

Damn it - this next point just gave me another piece of information that I could add to the list!

Well here is tip #7: Making content just for content sake isn't the best way to make the most of your time, make informative content that leads your readers to do something - whether it is to join your email list or read a review article - almost every blog post should have a purpose!

Great advice! I love your site by the way. Nice work.

Awesome feedback, much appreciated!

I agree with leaning toward higher quality content but if it takes you two weeks to complete that than I would start to question just how far you are taking it.

I have had a few articles that took a week or two to research and write but during that time I was also publishing articles that were easier to produce.

I'm pretty new here so don't take my advice to seriously. It's just my opinion and others with more experience should be listened to first.

Rick

Hey Rick,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I'm pretty new as well here. Finding that I can put out some 1500+ posts usually within a few hours.

Little benefit to having studied many years obtaining my graduate degree in the field of my niche.

Like the idea of working on a few projects at one time.

Didn't know if putting out a 1000-1500 word post daily is going to do more to get my site ranked than one or two posts a week with a little more attention to detail?*

Nick

I think you should do more and I think Kyle and Carson would agree with me that if you can put out 1000 to 1500 word articles that are effective and helpful than do it, while at the same time researching and writing more extensive articles.

Here is a recent thing I am kicking myself over. I created a review of the top 10 computer monitors that ended up showing off a total of maybe 30 models. It took me about three days to research and write that article but now I'm considering going back and doing another week or two of research to really narrow that article down to the top 10 monitors "I" would recommend. I use "I" because there are so many opinions out there that someone will be able to chew me up and spit my current list out.

My recommendation is to do both. I think you need a lot of content and some high quality in-depth articles. You can always go back and edit or delete posts later.

Sorry.....I'm rambling

Rick

Hi Nick!

I would shoot for at least 1,000 words of quality content. I like 1,500+ for post I really want to get ranked, not just informational once someone reached my site.

If you can only get that level of content in 10-15 posts, do that. If you can get more, then keep writing, Sir!

The more quality the content, the better. A growing website is a Google, Bing, Yahoo happy website!

Press on . . .

Have a few posts around 1500 words it took a few hours to produce, looking to link a few products before doing more outreach to gain traffic for the site...

Maybe this is backwards but just trying to move forward in a manner that makes the most sense!

Agree with you that it sounds like quality is king

Spend as much time as you need to accomplish the goal of quality content! Don't stress.

I have posts that are still making money after four years because I spent the time initially to get them right. Now, of course, I come back and update, but they started off right.

It sounds like you are doing the same!

According to this article https://smartblogger.com/website-traffic/
it's definitely better to produce less but make it more outstanding.

Hey Guys doing some online keyword research and came across this a couple different times:

1. Benefits Of* X has a QSR of 290

2. Benefits From* X has a QSR of

Hi Nick!

Great question! What I do, when I run into these that are so close but have a big swing in the QSR, is to go into google and search those results live and see what the keyword results are.

Then, I chose what I feel is the best and use it in the title and use the other keyword phrase in the post as well, perhaps mixing the use of the two in the photo alt tags as well.

Great strategy, thanks for sharing!

Thank you for asking this question. I haven't come across this yet but now if i do, i will know about it.

You're welcome, I've ran into a few times and can look like a goldmine which you would never know until long down the line and still having no traffic!

Good question, these are pretty much synonyms which is why Google shows the same results. So even if you chose the easier keyword, you will get lumped in with the more difficult one. But its good you caught on to this early.

From my understanding Jaaxy determines keyword difficulty by running this search on google - allintitle: "Benefits Of* X" - so you can play around with that and see if you get similar results - all these does is determine how much pages are ranking for the exact same keyword in their title.

Gotcha, I figured something might be up when the rest of the stats we're exactly the same and Of* or From* aren't essential to the search.

So when this comes up it's best to just assume even the Low QSR is going to rank as poorly as the higher, just a small detail overlooked on Jaaxy?

Great response, makes sense, appreciate your thoughts

Nick

Hey everyone!

Just getting started "Making Money" course three :)

What has been everyone's most successful affiliate companies getting started? Interested in Amazon

I think that Clickbank gives the most, training and commissions.

Don't know much about clickbank, I'll definitely look into it thanks for the advice!

Same as KristylaureL. I am affiliated with Amazon and with Shareasale.

I picked Amazon because of the diversity and because the person who clicks on their banner is open to purchase what they want. The other affiliate I chose through Shareasale is niche specific but has a higher ROI.

My answer probably doesn't help much, but I thought I would add my two cents... :))

Appreciate it, looking into everything right now, sounds like I should check out Sharesale!

I’ve only used Amazon and recently signed up for Shareasale so I look forward to using it :)

How many post's did you have before applying for Amazon, curious as I'm just getting started and want to make sure I'm able to make a sale in the first X amount of days!

Hi there.. I had around 10 posts when I signed up. I didn’t wait which maybe I should have but I’ve had way more than 3 sales.. I’m not bragging, lol, it’s not a braggable number.. BUT, it’s more than 3 so I’m safe with Amazon :)

That's awesome totally what I was looking for, didn't want to sign up and lose the potential of Amazon! Thanks for sharing!

As long as you have 3 sales in 6 months you are safe with Amazon :)

Amazon is great for physical products.
JVzoo and clickbank are good for digital products.

Try all and see which one works best for you.

:)
Joe

Thanks Joe, Just getting started with the affiliates, joined CJ, haven't marketed anything yet but wanted to get familiar with how they look and work from the inside out before moving forward!

Good day if you just started I would suggest shareasale.com or Awin.com I hope this helps
Kind regards
Angelique

I did, thanks for the thoughts!

Hey guys so starting to get into some more of the social media world on here again. For reference just starting the course three. So learning about attracting some new and orga

I preferred separating my personal from my business accounts. My personal is more of what it is, very personal and informal. So I
go with Start new.

Wish you success.
Jenni

I have a personal account on facebook and a business account. I have too many pictures of grandbabies and kids on my personal account that I do not wish to share. Its up to you how you want to do it.

Hi Nick, I too do what most everyone else suggested, I have a personal page and a few :( business pages/fan pages for my business stuff. That way I can invite those friends and family members who would be interested in that particular subject.

Randi

Great Idea, glad to see it's working well for ya!

I have a personal page and used that account to create a fan page, in fact, two of them for the businesses. I think someone else here referred to them as business profiles.

Seems like a great way to go about it!

I would suggest creating a branded business accounts for that, and keep your personal stuff personal.

Seems to be the best way to go about it!

You can create "business profiles" for your social media and link them to your main profiles. I that way, when you share a post, you can share all profiles simultaneously.
For instance, you have your main FB profile, you can create pages or groups even fan pages for your business and link those pages, etc. to your main profile.
With Twitter, you can add your link to your profile information, Then when people visit your Twitter, they'll see the link to your websites, social profiles etc. Upfront.
You can link All of your Google profiles together, no matter how many accounts you have.
With Pinterest, you can create a Pin Group specifically for your business and have your links in your profile description.
With LinkedIn, it's a good practice to compile all of your links and update or rotate them regularly.
I have lots of ideas for social media. I am a social media manager. Content curator for social media among my many skills.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Linda

Great Idea with linking profiles! I'm going to start to pay more attention to that.

There's nothing wrong with starting new accounts for your brand. You'll just have to put in a bit of work to follow relevant people from those accounts to build your network up. And then whenever you have content that you wouldn't mind sharing to your personal account you can share that in both places.

Also, when sharing to your brand account, it's a good idea to not *only* share your own content. Share content that's relevant and interesting to your target audience and for every 10 shares, maybe make 3 of them your content. Add in a couple of personal shares that show you as a person as well, and you'll start giving your brand a personality and identity and your audience will see you as an authority with the content you share.

Great Ideas! Appreciate you dropping in, going to start to incorporate this today!

No problem. Glad to help.
