I Quit Wealthy Affiliate!
Yes, I really quit Wealthy Affiliate 10 days before the expiry of my subscription. Clicking that final red button felt great! I quit because I struggled deciding on what “Niche” I should explore. I would pick one, then not know what to write about it. I kept going around and around in circles, I’d had enough and felt rubbish.
The following few hours I was left thinking “What now?”. “How are you going to afford the lifestyle you wanted? What’s the plan? ”
“Amazon FBA of course! Selling my own physical products online, I’ve done this before!”
I then remembered why I stopped selling on Amazon previously…….the cost! Yes Amazon is an amazing platform and although many YouTubers and Amazon FBA gurus state you don’t need much money to start, I’m afraid the reality is you do to really make a decent return on your investment and I don’t have the cash any more. I would say you really need a starting sum of £5k for product research, materials, moulds, branding, Amazon fees (selling, fulfilment etc), shipping and insurance costs to name a few expenses..
“Ok, what else then?” “Drop shipping!”
Again, I started to dabble with this before and although you expect delivery times to be longer etc, I found there was a huge problem for UK Drop shippers in that there was no way of paying for, or collecting “Duty” on products over a certain price. In the UK, the buyer of the product must pay the Duty when they take receipt of the item so you cannot collect it before hand and pay up front on the customer’s behalf. If there was a simpler way of collecting the Duty and paying it to HMRC then this could have been profitable. I know there are those that risk it all and hope they won’t get caught but that doesn’t sit well with me. If anyone has a legal solution then please let me know.
“Ok what else?” “Write a book?”
I always thought about writing children’s books but a friend of mine has written a few books but after hearing the problems he encountered in the past and learning about all the competition, this has put me off slightly. Maybe another time.
“Ok, why did I cancel when there was nothing else for me to work on?”
What have I done? Was that really the correct decision? I decided to watch some YouTube clips about WA and trawled through the website and having seen the “Black Friday” link, I thought to myself “Maybe I should try again? In for a penny, in for a pound?”
Ok, you know what I did, obviously I came back to WA after a very short break! 😊
I’m probably going to look at the WA Affiliate program this time and go from there. I committed to a year and I am not going to waste money anymore so I will be knuckling down to it! Feel free to let me know your thoughts.

Welcome back Skipper. I had to read your blog to the end as I came the that same place, last week but Kyle and Denis rekindled my thought. I decided to quit before my renewal on the 21st. I continue on my way and is expecting to see improvement. I wish for you the same so let us be more patient and see the results. All the best.

Glynn a friend of mine wrote a book back in the early 90's and he earned about $110,000 on the book about our city of Vancouver it's in every library in canada.
He took the money and invested in a house. He now owns a lot of real estate and just counts his money.
So, you just need a good idea , all the best.
Awesome Glynn, glad you're back. I can relate to almost everything you've written above! I've literally gotten involved in all of the above too, but as you've shown, the picture the "gurus" paint in their vids and ads isn't all rosy. I've just signed up for the annual premium membership and will now be giving it horns and getting stuck into WA properly. Feel free to give me a kick every now and then!

I got a write ban, I know not what I did, but feeling like a ghost until I found Laurenjeans article and was given the email addresses to both Kyle and Carson. Kyle got me out of WA Jail.
