Start With YOU
So you're interested in starting an online business?
Or maybe you're in the process of learning and developing your business and haven't quite found your footing yet.
When starting any business you need to know three things...
- Your Why
- Your Worth
- Your Weakness
Before you continue reading this grab a piece of paper… a sticky note… whatever you can write on…
Now, I want you to ask yourself the following question below and write down your answer on that piece of paper.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO START AN ONLINE BUSINESS?
Whatever answer (or answers) you have written down, put this somewhere you'll see it everyday like your bathroom mirror or the dash of your car.
Your answer may change over time as you get further in the process of building and running your business, but for now you need to know in this moment what your motivation is.
START WITH YOU…
I think it's important to do a self-analysis. Get to know yourself as if you already don't.
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
What do you have to offer in business?
Who can you help?
What are your goals?
These are pretty generic questions but to sit down an actually do a personal inventory is necessary to fine tune your business.
When I started my online business journey I had no experience and I had just recently quit my job.
At the time I knew a few things about myself for sure….
I was burned out from working, I wasn't interested in going back to school any time soon, and I just wasn't happy over all with how my life was going. I was still trying to cope with separating from the military and trying to keep my mind busy… but I never really felt productive even when I was.
I wasn't great at writing particularly, but I always had the urge to write my thoughts and keep journals. I had a lot of knowledge an experience that I felt could be helpful to others as well, so I knew I had something to offer.
My "WHY" was because I wanted to be financially independent and help others by sharing the knowledge I had. In a world with over 7 billion people in it, someone needs YOUR help.
The day I decided to go into online business I had made it a promise to myself… DON'T QUIT!
My WHY hasn't changed… in fact I've got several WHYs now. It keeps me motivated and committed to growing my business.
