Spread Your Twitter Wings And Give Your Content Flight
I've been kinda lazy about pushing out content this year. I think COVID put a bit of a damper on my motivation too but I'm not going to submit to making excuses. Either way, earlier this year I had decided to pull back on different projects and just focus on diving deeper into the training here and building my network, both here on WA and on other social platforms.
Back in March, I made a few posts that started shaking up my stats a little. I was happy to see that bit of growth and it gave me a little motivational boost to reground myself and focus on the goals I set out for when I started this journey.
When I looked closer at the numbers I noticed something that really got me thinking about the reach I have to my audience outside of WA. In April I decided to add a referral link to my Twitter profile just to try something out.
Since that time my numbers have jumped over 100% and seem to have stayed steady for the next few months. Around this time is when COVID started sinking in and I didn't post any more content until September. Again, another jump shows as well as a trailing slow incline over the time my content and profile become more exposed. I can only imagine if I already had more content published.
Every now and then I'll post a tweet that's pretty relevant to most who see it, but I don't have a following that would give me a "viral" push right now. However, one of my more recent tweets made a huge impression in a way I wish I had prepared some proper content to plug in and promote. This is such a missed opportunity on my part.
Below is a detailed view of the analytics of the tweet I posted.
While 170k of impressions is great, the things that grab my attention most here are profile clicks, retweets, and link clicks. These three particularly let me know that regardless of the views my tweet got, just seeing my tweet allowed for more direct exposure to my WA content over 150 times.
QUESTION: How do you use Twitter to help your business?
If you use Twitter and you're looking to get more exposure to your profile you can share your account link here within the WA community. I've added myself to the list as well.

I have a twitter account I have not used for years. Looks like I need to revive it and give it a go. Thank you very much for sharing
Yeeees! Wake that account up and give it some life! The potential for reach and growth is inevitable. And here's a quick thought from me to you personally...
If you've had an account set up for a few years already (whether it's been active or not) you're already set up to gain a more organic following. When you start to create some activity on your feed and other members see your profile... they will be able to see your account wasn't just set up this year. That works in your favor in the long run by complimenting your authority/expertise.
Best wishes!

Really interesting stuff Ruby. Just about to start using Twitter, so thank you for this post
Thank you for this, I have just started my twitter page, so its nice seeing this, I will be taking all this on board
Absolutely! I plan to come back to this at a later date and add more or at least post an update as I play around with some marketing strategies. Using different social media platforms outside of WA is definitely an opportunity not to be slept on. I wish you the best as you continue to progress on your journey!
