On here, if I've asked a question or replied to a question, is there a way to find those posts a few days later? There does not seem to be list of the posts made.
if its a question that you have asked then it will be on your profile, if its a question by somebody else and you know what it is about then you can look for that question in the search bar at the top of the screen

I came across a guide on here from 2010 but that is a long time ago. Is there an updated version given things have moved on with backlinks?

Just wondering do most people really have a passion for niche they are involved in? Or is it a case of getting involved in some niche because of the business possibilities?
I chose a niche I really feel passionate about. That way I don't get bored writing about it and I don't get burned out when things are slow. It is information I want to share regardless of the profit so it helps to keep me going thought the inevitable slow times.
This is advice that many give here especially when you are starting out. Once you have a system in place it is easy to replicate it on new niches but the first one is much easier if it is something you know about already.
Many people fail here when they try to pick a good money maker niche they think will be successful because there isn't much to keep them going when they are not getting any sales!
It is still smart to pick a niche with some demand though. Try to find both in the same niche, something with some demand that you are also interested in.
The only passion you really need is the passion to help other people get what they want, need or desire. Fulfill the needs of others. Give customers what they want, not what you want.
Sure if you are really passionate about it, great! But it's not a requirement. The only requirement is to respect the product or service, honestly believe in its value and do an excellent job with your business.
And yes, you can be passionate about your business without being passionate about the 'coffee machine' you are selling - nothing wrong with that - because lots of people will love that coffee machine, even if you only ever drink tea....lol. ~Jude
Yup, passion first, dollar signs second, lol! But if no dollar signs then find something else in some area you like. They're there. You just have to look for them :)

I would recommend a lot of reading and research.
You do not need qualifications and expertise, but
remember share what you find. Do Not claim any
guarantees or cures. It is always best to know the
product you are promoting.

I installed Wordpress at Hostgator but the themes that comes as standard are not really to my liking. I suppose they'd be okay if i can customize them but that is going to be v
when you are in back office of your website(word press) go to appearance section and click on themes. it will show you all the themes you already downloaded and you can search for more themes. by my experience, the more pretty theme is and more features it have it will be more complicated. Best thing to learn how to work with your theme is to play with it and always check preview before you save and publish changes. it worked for me really well, also don't forget if you want to have full control of theme then with most of them you have to buy full (pro) version.
You have several options here:
1) Search WP
Go to 'Appearance' > 'Themes' > 'Add New'
Instead of uploading a new one scroll down and you'll see a list come up. You can search for different keywords and such. These are usually free but they can be a headache with bugs.
2) Google
Search for 'your niche' + 'WP Theme' or something similar. Maybe you want a certain look or feature.
3) Sites like ThemeForest but I'm skeptical about ThemeForest. There are a couple of similar sites like this for premium themes.
4) You can also Google search for premium themes too. My suggestion would be to try their free versions first then buy the premium version if you like it.
I've been using themes by 'Wen Themes' lately. I'd get the premium so you can customize the annoying grey writing. They work fine for free for the most part too.
Another one I like is ThemeGrill. They also have free and premium themes.
Hope this helps :)
