Is "security" YOUR responsibility, when using platforms like WordPress, Facebook etc?
WAIT A MINUTE !!!
Why would "security" be the users responsibility?
I'd think the PLATFORM should be 100% responsible for the security of their users.
YES... even the free ones like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter etc.
They have an obligation to protect the users of their platform.
WE as users, should not be subject to hackers and scammers on these platforms.
If you invite a guest to your home, do you feel you have a responsibility to keep them from being robbed or stolen from. If not, perhaps you should not be inviting guests into your UNsafe home.
What Triggered This???
Well...
I'm getting really fed up with all the fake comments on my WordPress websites.
I'm getting really fed up with fake accounts asking to connect on Facebook.
I'm getting tirded of lame subscribers on YouTube.
I'm frustrated.
At least the WA platform appears to police their users and content to protect us from the phoney hackers and scammers.
SOLUTION for the "free" platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter etc etc. Make geographic local confirmation mandatory.. Charge everybody $1 a month. Then at least there is a "Money Trail" to follw to prosecute these SCUM BAGS.
Go get 'em Zuck!

It's true we are really safe on this platform and I hope that the free platforms will be as rigorous as WA in the future because we are not really protecting well on all these free platforms as you explain very well .
