Email open rate is 3% to 5% where Direct Mail open open rate is 90% to 100%
What is your open rate for your email Marketing?
I have heard that the open rate for email these days is less than 5%. is that true? Is it over 50% open rate?
Well, direct mail postcards our a 100% open rate if they get delivered. And the United States Postal Service tends to deliver the mail.
The cost to deliver a postcard is $.47.
Where a click might cost you a dollar or more.
Would a delivery success of over 90% and a 99% open rate Benefit your business?
What are your thoughts on old-school physical direct mail versus Internet marketing methods?
I have noticed, that even the big online businesses tend to advertise on traditional media like radio and television.
Are we missing the boat, when it comes to developing a 100% online business?

There is nothing wrong with a 100% open rate, and yes, the post office does deliver 100%. To be fair now I would probably read a postcard that I received, simply because it would be unusual.
But I remember back in the 80's and 90's I would simply toss them in the bin.
So, to answer your question - I think that regular snail mail does have a part to play (especially in the local market). Thanks for the idea. I will use it.
