Could You Sell Local Products and Services?

The world is a big marketplace.

What if you narrowed your market down to a local town. What if you were just marketing to consumers in your city?

As an example, if there was a local restaurant that offered to pay you 10% on the revenue you drove into the restaurant, would you be able to do that?

Or what if there was a catering company in your city, that did catering for special events and weddings. Would you be able to drive traffic to their business if you could earn 10% of the revenue?

What if there was a real estate agent that would pay you a commission on the houses you helped them sell in your town?

Or, what if there was an event venue that was available for rent for event planners to use for their functions? Could you sell that? And earn a 20 or 50% commission on the rental fee?

Sometimes, it's not about big numbers on a global scale, and maybe it's about quality numbers on a local scale?

What are your thoughts?

I'll have to ponder on it, but I have a local business already, Brad!

Jeff

Are you marketing it and promoting it as an affiliate marketer? Or are you using traditional methods?

I'm using traditional methods, Brad!

Business cards and word of mouth now Brad!

Me too!

Well done, Kristina!

My first thought is tracking. How would you do that?

Second, can you prove you were the first source to introduce those customers to those suppliers?

If you do choose to work locally, make sure that you come to an agreement on every single thing you can think of before you proceed, so that there's no questions or discussions later. Then get it in writing.

Thank you for this post. Your event planner idea has me thinking about revenue possibilities, based on my background

My background is in the event industry as well.

Yes you can and if you are only focusing on a local area compared to the world you can focus your website on that.

If so it would be best to have a website just for local purposes.

For example, I live in Australia and if I was to promote within Australia or within my local area my website would most likely have the .com.au at the end of my website.

The au represents Australia. that way I am only focusing there not the outside world.

Of course, if you find affiliate groups or programs you would need to join them like any other affiliate program.

Jay has done some wonderful training on focusing local sites you can look them up and learn from Jay

Wishing you well Brad
