Concentrated on Local Markets
Shiny Objects Syndrome
It is easy to get distracted with the BIG numbers of casting a wide global net. when you are marketing on Google, Bing or other global search engines, you can be encouraged by the massive numbers you see on your analytics. however, how many of these visitors are repeat visitors, and how many of these visitors are serious buyers?
Recently I have been targeting my local Minneapolis St. Paul Minnesota area and I am seeing considerably higher quality leads and sales. it seems to be much easier to find your ideal perspective customer, when you focus on a smaller geographic area.
Keywords like caterers near me end up being vague. The numbers will be higher, but the probability of someone hiring a caterer that is thousands of miles away is not that likely. Whereas a keyword like caterers near Minneapolis, how much more focused.
My challenge is to stay focused, because the large numbers in analytics is exciting to see. But does not result in quality.
My target audience is activities, attractions, caterers, speakers, entertainers, limousine services, photographers, entertainers, cruises, theater, event venues, etc.
All in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul Minnesota.
