A Special Gift and Special Thanks

We ;have a tradition at our house where we gift gives over the entire month of December. This saves us from the stress of getting everything together for the "Magic Day."

All of my children are grown and most have left the house. One is still in college and is going into physical therapy. He wanted to monitor his heart rate and blood pressure during exercise so we got him a special "watch" to do that - and even tell time!

One of the new smart watches.

So the day we gave it to him - yesterday, he comes to see me concerned because his heart rate was 130 and his blood pressure was 160/110.

And he was having chest pain.

I naturally thought his watch was wrong until I took his heart rate and blood pressure but it was correct! He takes Adderall for ADHD but had always had good blood pressure and heart rate.

He went to his doctor and is doing better, all the lab work and EKG and was OK. He's now off Adderall, getting fluids, and a few other things, but doing better.

I'm not sure what the moral of this story is yet, but we need to remember our families while we go about the hustle of the season and our business here, maybe even another full time job..

We can get so busy we forget the most important things - like our family.

I am again giving thanks - after Thanksgiving.

We need to remember our loved ones

Include them in our schedule.

Lesson learned.

Dave.

True, we can't let our busy lives get in way of our family. Glad he is doing fine.

Hey D,
So happy that this 'pre-xmas gift' showed up at the 'right' time. Take care of yourself and those you love (notice the order)...and yes, gratitude works. I ask for angelic healing for you and your family.

Thank you so much for your kind remarks. We certainly need angelic blessings.

Like another member said, 'there are no coincidences.' He got a gift to monitor cardiovascular function right when he needed it.

Dave.

Very good point Dave. Glad things worked out OK.

It is a busy time of the year and we should remember not to take things for granted either.

As I was out and about today I noticed a couple of homeless people on the street. We have to remember that are those that don't have a roof over their heads or enough to eat, despite the abundance in this country (the US).

My point is, we should also look out for those who are not as well off. No matter what the reason why.

Happy Holidays,

Michael

Thank you for the timely reminder.
We tend to be focused on ourselves and less about the people around us.
The lesson is well taken.

Yes, we should not take health for granted. Glad all is OK.
