The Department of Redundancy Dept.
I don’t mean to be the style police, but there is one thing I’ve noticed in going back over my own writing as well as reading the posts of others. It is that many of us, and I include myself, have a tendency towards redundancy. For example, one post made reference to “4:00 AM in the morning.” There is only one 4 AM and it’s in the morning. You can say “ 4 AM” or “4 in the the morning” but 4 AM in the morning is redundant. Another common practice is using muitple adjectives that mean the same thing. “it’s the newest most recent offering from this company” or a double whammy, “it’s a small petite device that fits comfortably in the ear canal of your ear.” These mistakes are easy to make. I often do them over and over again repeatedly. So be careful with your proofreading, and take great care.

In the rush, it can be so easy to overlook things when proofreading thanks for the reminder, Jim.
