Hi
I want to change the theme of my website and although I think I know where I want to make sure all the settings/steps need doing gets done so that my site functions corre

Sorry i don't know where the vids might have disappeared to.
You should just experiment with different themes until you find one that ticks all the boxes for you.
Might I suggest you download a copy of your site first as it is now in case of unforeseen events.
Robert

Thanks, Robert.
I have had one until now but like you said it doesn't quite tick all the boxes and as you go through the training and realize how this is going to work it also change the way I see my site.
I'll definitely look at downloading a copy.
Is there anything critical that needs doing if you change the theme?
Is there somewhere I can see how to do all of the above?

Not all themes are compatible with whatever content you have.
That's why its always best to save a copy of your site aziz.

You choose Tools in your WP dashboard then Export
make sure the - All Content - button is chosen

Click on the Blue Download Export File.

Save it to your desktop or you should find it in your Downloads.

I usually download a copy every week just in case anything goes wrong.

I'm off out for awhile now but get back to me if you are stuck.
Robert

Thank you, Robert! Good call I'll do the same from here on. I have just started so my site can still adapt to the themel...

Changing WP Themes is easy enough. At this stage I have lost count of the number of times I have changed themes. However for the last 2 years, I used one theme. In the last few weeks, I have moved one of my sites to another theme, and will be moving my other sites to that theme when I get the time.

I wrote a blog on my website years ago on how to change themes. You might find the information helpful. Note that this website is one of the websites that I need to change themes.

Make sure you backup your existing website. I use the "All-in-One WP Migration" plugin for that and download that file to your PC/laptop.

You might consider creating a sub domain on your website. And use "All-in-One WP Migration" to restore your existing site to that sub domain, and doing your testing etc on that sub domain. If a "mess is make" so what, just delete the sub domain website and start again.

No probs Hugo.
Onwards and Upwards.
