I'm RICH! My First Sale
Logged into Amazon Affiliates today to create some more outgoing product links and lo & behold...
I have $0.34 sitting in my account.
...
I made a sale!
It took me a couple months to get here, and it's small, but it's a start and there are plenty more sales to come as I grow the site from just 16 pages/posts to 100.
My STAGE 1 goals are:
- Write & publish 40 articles
Afterwards, my STAGE 2 goals are:
- Write & publish 25 articles
- Write & publish 10 guest posts on niche industry blogs
When I complete my STAGE 2 goals, I will look for STAGE 3 and 4 goals. For now, that's too far in the future and serves nothing but distraction.
I've learned we must separate the forest from the trees.
So what are you working on now? Is it directly tied to getting more traffic? If not, why are you doing it?
Start small...
Focus on getting 1000 visitors/mo to your site, then focus on 500 visitors/day.
Focus on your first 10 blog posts, then focus on getting to 25, then 50.
Focus on one small goal that you can break into months, weeks, days. That's how you win the race.
PEACE & LOVE Y'ALL!

look at my site.. successconcept.siterubix.com
my trouble is.
lack of time, and finding high paying affiliate programs to fit what I preach.
I am avoiding looking too avertisey. you know what I mean, I put info people can use, if only they will "read word" even though images speak louder.
How would you approach this.?
Outcome's not good. I got an error and the site didn't load ;)
Quick thoughts:
1. Lack of time is on you. You're either doing it or you're not. Do you want your $0.34 or not.
2. Don't avoid being salesy. Don't be ashamed that you drive a profit. The easiest way to eliminate this shame is to give them content you're proud of. You should be proud to earn money from it.
3. Not finding high paying affiliate programs is a good sign your area isn't profitable. Either become the high paying affiliate everyone else wants to work with.
4. Re: "Fitting what you preach" – your best chance of success will not be to preach what you think, but to find out what people want and say that. It's really hard, but I can directly attribute my success to when I stopped thinking about me, and started thinking about my customers. Solve their problem, don't preach.
Hope this helps, my dude! Keep growing!
Somewhat relevant is one of my favourite quotes:
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
– Margaret Mead
Thanks man, it's just like climbing stairs, you gotta focus on the step in front of you.
What about you – what's your next step? Set one goal and worth ruthlessly to get to it, then set the next :)
My next step is getting my site up and running. Thanks for the advice, I definitely going to use it.
You wrote this 1 day ago. I'm checking in.
- If your site's not up yet, then it'd be a good idea to look at why there hasn't been execution on your part
- If it's up, I'd love to see the URL, and... What's your next step? :)
Made a little under two dollars with Adsense but that's it. Still looking for my first affiliate promotion sale.
Not bad not bad! I think it's just a matter of more content, to get more eyes, then eventually you'll want to go in and rework some of your content to "convert" better :)
Good luck!
