Value What You Have

Last Update: March 30, 2016

The other day I learned something awesome and I want to share it with you.

I spent the day taking it easy, perhaps more easy then would be best. In the morning I checked out a ton of car dealerships, just for fun. I love cars, so I thought I'd check them out.

Admittedly I struggle to always see the value of what I have.
Yet my eyes were opened. I checked out cars I thought would be awesome, and I discovered that my current car is better then all the cars I looked at for various reasons.

One of the best features of my car is the fact that it has space for everything. Everyone has the leg room they need no matter what. And there is plenty of room for storage. My car goes fast enough, looks good enough, and is just as comfortable as all the cars I sat in.

Could my car be better, sure, but it doesn't really need to be.

I learned that sometimes you don't see how well you have it until you see the other options and how everything compares. This isn't unusual, this is a common mental struggle. What matters is that we face ourselves and gain a clear vision of where we are, so we can be truly grateful for where we are and how far we have come etc.

Sometimes we need to step back, and look back and see how good we have it.

I enjoyed the great life lesson, that could help me glean a broader prospective and greater gratitude. (That being said I will never stop dreaming...)

Thanks Evan. My hubby is a car fanatic too and until I met him I was more along the lines of 'as long as it gets me from a-b!'

Yes, we are all dreaming as long as we live and struggle to make life better for ourselves. I agree with you that we should learn to hold and value what that which we already have.
